Sonakshi was standing in the kitchen going over the inventory of foods that Kichu had brought in. She was peering into the brown paper bag when Nikki skipped in.

Running straight for the fridge, she takes out a green freezie and proceeds to open it.

"Nikki," Sonakshi sang out without looking up from her notebook.

"Yes Dr. Bose," Nikki hesitantly answered, gulping down a cold sugary drink.

"Did you not find anything more unhealthy than that?" Sonakshi now looked up from paper and gave her a sly smirk.

"Dr. Bose, kuch aur hai hi ni khaane ko. And kabhi kabhi itna toh chalta hi hai." Nikki tried pleading for her case.

"Oh really? There's nothing to eat?" Sonakshi inquired, putting her pen down. "Aur yeh groceries jo Kichu har roz lekar aate hai woh sab kya hai?"

Unable to give a proper reply, Nikki hung her head with the freezie packet still hanging in her mouth.

Sonakshi peered into the paper bags and took out a couple of fruits. Selecting an orange, she turned to take out a small plate from the cupboard.

"Grab a seat." She told Nikki who gulped down the last remains of her freezie and threw the packet in the garbage.

Sonakshi gave a small smile as Nikki began to chat about how her day at school went.

The orange slices turned out to be quite sweet that day.

II.

Dev had reached the last button on his light blue shirt when the button had decided to fail on him. Breaking loose and bouncing away onto the floor, Dev released a long sigh.

"Isse abhi hi toot na tha," He said exasperatedly as he unbuttoned his shirt and took it off.

Walking towards his cupboard, he began mumbling to himself on how much time had been wasted in this one small act of him having to change again. He reached randomly for one of the hangers and pulled out a shirt. Seeing it to be a matte orange color, Dev chuckled to himself.

"Isse pehan kar santra lagu ga." His words echoed in the back of his mind.

He remembered the way Sonakshi's eyes had gone slightly wider when he had spoken those words. The slight raise of her eyebrows as she had breathed out a silent "huh".

Smiling widely he spoke out loud, "Chaliye Dr. Bose, aaj yeh bhi pehan kar dekh lete hai."

He quickly buttoned up his shirt as he got diverted back to the business at hand with Tina calling him up on the phone.
