Love

Love is when you close your eyes and it is his face that comes to your mind.

Love is when he gets hurt and tears drop from your eyes.

Love is when its not yours or his' but ours.

This is love. Or is so believed by many people. I believe,

Where there is love,

there is life'

Love is the only emotion which within itself contains all others. It evokes anger, happiness, jealousy, sadness, sympathy, concern, forgiveness ... everything. But today love is that pure emotion whose meaning has changes drastically in today's world.

Now the word love awakens fear in people. The term has been twisted and exploited as per people's desires. We often hear so many incidents from news channels and newspapers that it just feels as if this generation has buried true love deep somewhere in the ancient ruins and the so called "love" that exists now is just attraction, obsession and pure materialistic desire.

Last week I came across article in a newspaper. It talked about a couple, very much in love, and were planning to get married. But the boy's parents objected and declined to accept the girl as their daughter in law. So, the boy went one day, late in the night to the girl's house and poured acid over her and killed her. Why you ask ? "Out of love" he said.

" I love her way too much to see her in the arms of another man because she anyways is not going to be accepted in my house." he says.

Wow. I genuinely am at a loss for words. Is t h i s what he calls love? He insults love by his existence.

Somehow I was reminded by DevAkshi when I read this... We saw a jealous Dev and a similar Sonakshi ; but their love was pure , genuine to the extent that despite the fact that they could not control their feelings ; Sonakshi didn't harm Natasha - Dev did not deter Neel from dating her - despite the fact that their behaviour was curious . It hurt them to see each other with someone else but they withstood it ; and despite all the odds love won. Even going ahead we will see an eternal though logical love in all its sense - when neither would chose to hurt the other or the ones they love... as we see in the earlier promos.. A wait without conditions - showcasing the basis of love - trust

Love is what gave the courage to Sita to leave her Ram when people questioned his acceptance of a woman who stayed for one entire year in the house of another, with a smile and nothing but his memories and his essence in the form of luv and kush. Love is what gave the strength to Urmila stayed back for fourteen years to let Lakshman to fulfill his brotherly duties.

Love is what the Prophet felt for his followers, that inspired him to light the pathway to their salvation;

Love is how Jesus endured the pain and prayed and prayed only for the welfare of his people when stones were pelted at him and he was bound to a cross with nails. He wished that the almighty would forgive their ignorant mistakes. They say forgiveness is the highest form of love.

Love is why no matter how old or how young we are; how circumstances have changed us, we are always the tiny kids who fingers always clutched the end of her saree and trusted her blindy to guide us to our mothers. Love is unconditional. Love never questions, it only gives.

But then you may ask ... but how? How can you let go when you know that she is the only one whom you can spend your entire life with ? That is the power of love - for you wish to see only happiness in your beloved's eyes and that is by keeping him away from you , then so be it. Possession will give you body not heart. True love in a sense is a quest for the of another half of your soul. If it is to be , it will be.

Sorry for making it a bit too factual... My way of increasing the forum activity since i genuinely felt like making a post about it... pls don't bash me and feel free to comment and like 😳😆

Well wow! This post is so beautifully written ❤️

I don't really know what to add right now. Let me brainstorm a little.
I feel like Love is a very complex little thing bcos it's so random? Bcos you don't know until you know but then how do you know if what you are feeling is in fact love and not infatuation? 😆
Like what is love? Because the only thing I genuinely trust and am very loyal to is black coffee?

It's such a paradox and I think no amount of Radha-Krishna or Ram-Sita stories will solve this complex riddle for me (I genuinely think the above are some of the purest romantic love stories for me. No modern day novel will be able to replace them for me personally. Actually April Fools Day comes a third). Like how can one be so selfless in love when internally what they actually want to be is selfish? Everything about love is a just contradiction in my brain (mainly bcos I over analyse and overthink everything 😆)

Though I do know this because I see it everyday. Love is not some kind of force or instinct, love is a choice. Every married couple or a long term relationship couple will know this, there are things that will make you want to part ways, but love is a choice that you consciously make, consciously keeping two people together. It's not a matter of the heart (which is in fact an organ as pointed out by Dev 😆), it's what you consciously what you make of it in your brain. So love for me is choice. (Asides from trust, friendship and loyalty).

I have realised I have mainly talked about romantic love, bcos really if I digress on the other aspects I will end up writing a research essay 🤪
