Boy has this week been all about Dev, wouldn't you guys agree?! I have been surprised and in a state of disbelief seeing a sarcastic, shaken, nosey and probing Dev. So many shades to this character. Shaheer has been a delight to watch on screen this week. Once again, KRPKAB team has delivered a great batch of episodes, maintaining its consistency and honouring the storyline so far👏First off, a massive shout out to two people who have been pivotal in the development of Dev's character this week - Nuts and Love Doctor Elena😆Had it not been for Nuts' innocent prying and Elena putting Neel forward, I don't think we would have got to see Detective Dev Dixit in his element 😆I am glad this fake boyfriend saga is over though. Dev just needed a taster and uss taster ne hilake rakh diya bande ko!😆Sets us up nicely for a self-examining Dev next week I think when Gujral comes back into the picture.
Coming to today's episode, I think this one has probably been my favourite this week and that is purely down to the range of emotions Dev depicted from start to finish. Shaheer was first-rate today! From the minute Dev steps into Sona's house he displays a displeasure to all the lovey dovey and flattering comments being made by Neel to Sona. You could sense a mixture of silent fury and sadness in Dev as Neel says that Sona is 'worth the wait.'😆And not once did Dev move his eyes from Sona's face as he had to listen to Neil at this point.😆He was clearly not liking it but as a viewer I was LOVING it. And eveytime Neel called Sona 'baby' Dev just couldn't handle it😆Daggers straight at the girl😆Dev must have been thinking dear God, she really is taken😡until Neel blabbered a bit too much and screwed up. Oh it was going so well! If there's one thing Dev knows Sona can't do is cook and praising Miss Bose's culinary skills was the biggest giveaway😆Advantage Dev! You could totally see Dev's alarm bells going off as he decides to jump onto this mistake by Neel and probe him further😆I loved how Elena knew their game was up as she hid her face with the magazine😆Hilarious!
Neel unaware of what he had just done continued to give the most W*Fish description of how he met Sona🤣Great job by Udit Gaur for playing a part in the pol khol😆Poor Sona knew what was coming and I loved how Dev lied that Sona hadn't told him how she met Neel because he just wanted to see how much of a story Neel was going to create as part of the lie😆Genius stuff! Dev was taking great pleasure throughout the conversation completely. And I think more than the fact Sona lied, Dev was keen to find out that Sona has this side to her when he quips ki 'mujhe lagta tha ki aap ek khuli khitab ki thara hai' and smiles at her. It gave him an opportunity to see another side to Sona, regardless of the comedy of errors that he found himself a part of. I think I couldn't control my laughter once the alarm bajne ki line was delivered by Neel🤣Khel khatam. Game over😆You can see the complete relief and happiness on Dev's face as Neel finishes and pats him on the shoulder for an amazing story😆Dev Babu had to tease her once again with his double meaning 'Miss Bose aap toh bara acha banati hai' dialogue and Sona bechari goes 'hmm'😆And knowing full well that her secret is out, he goes on to say that he won't be able to try anything she has cooked, both of them aware she can't cook to save her life and he has done the cooking for her before😆Another alone moment of theirs coming into play here which I think was nicely brought back into this track👏
And then you find the most calm, cool and confident Dev walking into his sister's bedroom, snatching the console and sitting himself down to play games 😆That new found swagger in Dev Dixit at the end of solving a mystery and emerging victorious (the prize being Sona) is something we've never seen before. So it was even more of a shock to Rhea and Nikki to find their bhai was behaving like this 😆We found a completely changed Dev Dixit who thought that he had lost something very dear to him, only to find that he hadn't and she was still there to be his only. All his lines were about winning and defeating, like he was still high from finding out about Sona's lie😆That cute high five to Rhea and general air of being laid back is the brother that the sisters have wanted for so long, that to see him act like that was a shock to their system 😆And I am glad that Rhea and Nikki were vocal about the possible Imtiaz Ali type changes in his life due to love, even if Dev once again switched to his usual scolding self😊The most important line for me personally during this light hearted scene was how the sisters were talking about Nuts bringing these changes to Dev's life and how she is good at playing video games, but Dev turns around and says 'wah kitna amazing haina? Woh video game acha khelti hai, life mein ur kya chahiye. Tu bhi na life mein badi nahi hogi.' Bingo! This for me highlighted that for Dev, Nuts' ability to match him in his hobbies is not enough for him to consider her to be the ideal life partner. It's not important for him. Inside, Dev Dixit has perhaps started to understand that he is seeking something else in his life and that something is Sona who might not like black coffee or cooking, but can offer him solace, advice and love. Anyone notice how Dev became silent and awkward hearing about him and Nuts looking cute together? I don't think he can imagine himself with her now because his mind is always clouded with Sona only. He gets up ready to leave and goes into a trail of thought when asked whether there's something going on between him and Nuts. The answer Dev Babu is yes. But it's between you and SonaDheere se samajh raha hai bacha😆
Coming to the final scene, damn Devakshi, these guys are just full of nokh jhok once again😆Dev continues to have the upper hand clearly and teases Sona here and there, both saying their legendary, 'tumhi, tumhi' and 'Dr Bose for you' which now makes any fight between them incomplete. Think even Dev loves it as he says 'hogaya?' Like he knows without Sona saying it, the conversation won't progress😆So he asks, tell me why you had to tell such a big lie? Sona is so scared and faking her sherni mode which no longer wants to surface in front of Dev, that she just about manages to ask Dev whether he will fire her for lying. There was once a Dev Dixit who might have berated her for such a big drama and wasting his time. Instead a completely changed person because of his feelings for Sona, he turns her around taking her arm and says 'no I was asking as a friend.' I loved how Sona ends up blurting so many of her personal thoughts to Dev about the questions that people ask about her personal life and shows her vulnerability to Dev, something he probably never expected. Don't you guys think there's something so gallant and chivalrous about offering a woman a handkerchief when she is down and on the verge of sobbing? I don't know many men who carry handkerchiefs around but Dev Dixit does and I think it's nice😊Knowing his detective work has probably gone too far, Dev again shows a softer side, unable to see Sona hurt. But here's the most important dialogue of the week and on the journey of Dev's realisation: 'Mujhe lagta tha ki mujhe kissiki zaroorat nahi padegi.'
Is Sona now a zaroorat for Dev? Is this the reason why he couldn't bear the thought of her having someone else in her life? Will next week be better than this week?😆Have a good weekend folks!
