Natasha: An over complication of things ?

Hellooo, its me again, with a new topic 😛

So, it's known to everyone now that there is going to be a new entry in the show, someone set to play or be ( I don't even know which) Sona's boyfriend...and I'm here thinking, fair, this character is needed as there needs to be a driving force for Dev to realize any ( if any) feelings he may have for Sona, because the man is legit confused with a capital c 😆 and he isn't about to realize it on his own.

My question now is, as someone who has watched hindi serials for a long time and is totally over the shows with multi ( by multi I mean like 20) charactered plots that are overcomplicated past oblivion, was Natasha's character really needed? Or at least needed now in the storyline?! I feel like by having her in the picture already is going to take away from Dev and Sona's love story - especially in its initial stages - when usually everything is supposed to be uncomplicated and clear. If he had said yes to the proposal it would have at least made sense, cause her character could have been perceived as a hurdle in the Devakshi love realization, but since Dev has said no to the proposal, she's just going to be ...there. And to make it all the more complicated Sona's going to have a new fake boyfriend.
Also, I just read that the guy playing Sona's boyfriend ( PS. This "pretend" boyfriend plot is totally giving me teen fanfic vibes and its not fun 😆) is going to actually fall in love with her, so there's that to overcomplicate things.

So now with Nut's in the picture already, and a fake boyfriend on the way I feel like the CV's kind of went in overdrive 😆 I'm intrigued to see how they pull it off without making it look or seem amateur and tacky. I hope they do.

My question is, do you guys feel like secondary love interests for BOTH Sona and Dev were needed? And that too so early on?

Share your thoughts 😊

About Natasha, I'll not speak. But this Sona's pretend boyfrien (trust me I'm reminded of these young adult fan fics too) falling in love with her is totally UNNECESSARY. Don't knw where they are going with this...

Totally agree with you. You put it very well when u said that now Natasha is just.. there. She's not a hurdle nor is she even playing cupid and making dev and sona realize their love. I don't even understand what role does she play in the series anymore. There was a need of another guy in Sonakshi's life but taking the fake boyfriend route was way too childish. If they really wanted to complicate things they should've shown someone who can stand his own before dev,not a fake bf whose role is that of an obvious cameo!

I totally agree with this part...that would've been fun to see, lets hope they dont make this guy some loser who hopelessly and foolishly does everything and anything to convenience the main leads. He should have a personality and brain of his own that is an actual match for Dev.

hey good post, nice to see some discussions going on. I would have preferred a separation track like Sona moves to new job rather than a love quadrangle.

I guess Natasha's character was introduced -

- to depict Sonakshi's emotions, jealously and heartbreak and to stop her confession
- to highlight that Dev has no love like feelings for Sonakshi and being a businessman, he can even consider marrying for a business deal. So his dilemma about his own personal life, love and marriage where Sonaksh would help him figure out his feelings
- And finally to show Ishwari's uneasiness with Dev's marriage - why she doesn't want Dev to get married ever, so it would not be just about Sona but with any other girl too
- And obviously to extend the love realization phase, if both of them confess so quickly then how the story would progress.

They wanted to show Natasha as a more suitable alliance for Dev and still Dev will fall for Sonakshi. But till now Natasha looks very fake and dull. Her dialogues and actions doesn't match with top 10 business woman of country image. She looks too desperate to get married to Dev. And none of Natasha's emotions are shown - how she feels about Dev taking so long for accepting the proposal. We don't really know what she feels, so its difficult to connect with her character.

Since Natasha has been so unimpressive, I am hoping that new guy would bring some much needed pace to the show. Initially even I didn't like so many love angles, but if they sketch this new guy character as anti-Dev, like successful and smart yet fun and loving guy, then it would be good. Natasha is seriously no competition for Sonakshi. if taking his family out for shopping is Nat's achievement, then Sonakshi has done far more important things for his family.

phew too long 😉

Were these two characters needed so early ?
No...not at all.

Sona had just fallen in love with Dev when Natasha entered the show...Sona probably didnt even get a chance to explore how deep her feelings are for Dev - just an infatuation or really deep love - when she was thrust into a world of jealousy.

I would have liked to see her explore her feelings more with that same maturity that we had seen in her in the beginning of the show...I would have liked to see Dev and Sona bond more...for their friendship to deepen even more before Natasha's entry.

Chalo theek hai we were dealing with Natasha just fine...but what's with this new guy falling for Sona? I mean even Natasha hasn't started professing her love for Dev and here we are already getting spoilers that Sona's fake boyfriend will fall for her.😕

The fourth entry is even more unwanted...but it seems that, with the way the story is going,Neel is the only way Dev will begin to realize that he has feelings for Sona.

Guys because sona and dev are getting close because of Natasha's marriage confusion...next sona's boyfriend will be the one who will make dev realize his feelings for sona...I mean jealous...so that's good right?

Bang on! I too feel the need of Nuts is to show us, probably that she is a more suitable person for Dev to get married to. But still, he falls in love with Sonakshi. I view it in that angle. It makes me happy.

Yeah, and if taking the family out on shopping would make Dev fall in love with her, then he would have fallen in love wth Tina or Sona first.
