Hello people,
So I loved the new promo and felt like doing a quick analysis on it. Bear with me please.
I love how the makers have lately been stressing again and again on Sona's importance in Dev's life. Not only is he seen asking her what color he should wear but ends up dismissing both choices and wearing the one she says is her favorite - orange. His family is naturally seen to react with surprise and befuddlement. Dev and orange? šš Loved it!
And then ofcourse when Natasha says she doesn't like orange he ends up defending the color itself. In a way he is defending the choice of his lady love - Sonakhsi Bose. There is also a quiet acknowledgement of orange being his favorite now as well. Oh Dev! š
He is sitting opposite Natasha yet his thoughts are of a different person entirely. Sona. Just thinking about her makes Dev smile. Sona has clearly weaved her way into Dev's life and also his heart. She makes him happy from within. He was pretty much in a world of his own here.
Also I loved how so many things appeared interchanged between Dev and Sona in this particular promo. While she says her favorite color is orange, we see her in a blue dress. Blue is Dev's favorite color. Also, I was amused by how Dev was seen to be having fresh orange juice - generally something that Sona prefers. She on the other hand appeared to be having coffee - again Dev's favorite drink.
I love these little details that the writers of this show highlight just in the promo. Be it their interchanging choices, their conscious attempts to adopt the other's preferences just because it makes them happy, makes them feel closer to the other person... all of it is so sweet and beautiful.
As for the bomb TC threw on the fans yesterday... I'm not in the least bit worried about it. It's going to be interesting to see Dev try and understand his own heart. There is absolutely nothing wrong in marrying Natasha. For all practical reasons, it is a good match for him. They have much in common. And yet... his heart clearly belongs to another. And as the saying goes... the heart wants it wants. Hoping to see the writers finally tap into the layers that surround Dev's heart. It's time he wakes up from the oblivion he has been living in, with regards to Sonakhsi's place in his life. We all know she isn't just his Mother's nutritionist.
And this has gotten too long. I'll shut up now. š
Cheers,
Maham
