First time when Dev put that Holi colors on Sona I knew there is a different Dev beneath that arrogant, emotional man.
And yesterday I got him. It was literally funny how Dev was quiet. First he sends the chef and take care of his kids.
And kids I loved the way kids dealt with him. Jumping and hugging him. Making him stand like laughing Buddha. Forced to apologize to neighbours, then to the lady on the phone. Dev was ek dum gentleman.
And at Sona's house that was more funny. Poor Dev was clearly uncomfortable. What with the open affection shown between Sona's parents, a complete jolly expressive family. Dev is not used to such normal emotions of affection. See the bond Sona's grand mom and her mom shares. A very loving supportive saas-bahu relation. Meri Asha Sona's dadi calls Sona's mom.
Whereas his house is all about traditions, hypocrisies and pretense of all well. You pull from one side everything will fall down.
And look at another thing. Again Dev doesn't tell his mom where he has been, neither did he tell her who put the holi colors on him. So in a way Dev has emotions, but he closes them out in such a way that only those emotions Ishwari likes to see is displayed. Not his true emotions.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Agree with you Sruthi. He knows his mother, how posessively she brought him up. So he prefers to keep his emotions hidden rather than expose before her. After he realises his love for Sona it won't be easy for him to take it to the next level.Hope Sona gives him moral support and help him unveil his heart before his mother.Fact is such kind of a Male Lead was not seen before I presume. And it excites me that Shaheer happens to play that Charecter and how? Episode after episode I wonder Is he the same Shaheer who became Anant and Arjun so convincingly.Ofcourse he has the technique to get into the skin of the Charecter otherwise how could he become Arjun personified? Now Dev, Great scope to depict a hero with so many complexities. And again Shaheer won.

@Lakshmi the real fact is that male lead with emotions has not been displayed yet. TV has completely ignored a man's emotions. His trials apart from being angry young man or romancing the female lead. His moral conflicts. I guess old DD days used to have that.
Actually Shaheer has got a good role which has shades. When will his emotions come out. What will make him stop living for someone else. Yes he has Arjun personified. No question about that. And after such a role to do a contemporary young man with penchant you need talent.
