Brief outline for Thur June 1

Well nothing much happened today--here goes the story--

-- TC with his gang friends come to Karpagam's house. Tc listens to everything annd says we can't go to police really. Mano is also at fault and we have to look for ways to save him. He then leaves and keeps the gang in the house as protection for karpagam.Anandhi says rajesh is also involved. So he asks aarthi to come with him.

-I missed this part.But I saw Aarthi in Rajesh's house and getting firing from Kala.

--Kanchana with her family telling that she treated anu fairly etc and never expected this. Now she calls adhi on mobilke and tells him that anu must come back here at all costs but kill that mano--whatever happens to u will be taken care by me, she says

--rajesh with mano in a house somewhere. rajesh has sent a friend to buy tickets for bangalore. He tells mano that it is safer for you to be in bangalore rather than in chennai.
Now the friend comes back and says lot of searching is going on for you and so I got scared and did not buy the tickets. Rajesh gets angry and says he will go and buy the tickets. Mano says it will be risky but still rajesh says he will take care.

--easwar comes to karpagam's house. Tc's gang do not allow him in. But karpagam sees him and tells them to let him in. Easwar says sorry again and again to karpagam. She says after your family came here only all teh problems started. First adhi began torturing abhi and now your anu has trapped mano and what harm we have done for suffering like this? Easwar says sorry and says I will ensure mano is safe.

Ok, here is a brief update for friday

-- Mano and Anu in a bride/groom attire. Mano says you are looking very beautiful in saree. further he says rajesh has gone to buy tickets to bangalore. But anu refuses and says we have to be here and shd not run away.

--TC/aarthi in vehicle searching. AArthi says I know rajeh's friends and so i will look out. Soon ,they see rajessh's friend on the road but he does not disclose anything. TC gives him his mobile and tells him that if he finds rajesh tell him to contact me.

--Tc with abhi in vehicle and tells her the things. Now mano calls TC and he gives the phone to abhi. Abhi is told by TC to speakj calmly. Mano says sorry but abhi says we are all depending on u but look what u have done. Now mano says he is at alandur registrar office. Abhi starts moving towards that office.

--rajesh comes out of travel agence with the tickets but a rowdy group on the look out for him blocks him and beats him up badly.

--abhi/tc meet mano/anu in registrar office. abhi gets very angry with mano and says you know how much difficulties we had uin life but you have betrayed us. But anu now says we have done nothing wrong--we are in love. I have also abandoned my parents/adhi etc for love. She says we are respecting you and so please accept us.

Now adhi's vehicle comes in and he comes in and looks at the scene.

June 5, 2006 - Monday updt

Adhi gets down to fight dirty. He screams and rants and raves at Anu, who is as cool as a cucumber. Anu asks him to stop his litany and says she knows the truth and has known it for a long time now. And that is about her parentage and how she was a mere vElaikaari's daughter. and as such, Adhi always held her in contempt. Adhi is now stunned and so are the others around. the rowdy gangs seems awful interested in this new development and Mano sort of looks disappointed; (chee, mamanaar veetu varumbadi pOchE! if not now, at least in the distant future, he was banking on that to keep his own mechanic shop but now this?) Abhi just looks on with a horsy expression..(nostrils flaring);

Anu says she never belonged in their household and she was always a stranger and that being the truth, what is it to Adhi if she marries the man of her choice? Adhi says is this the repayment they get for bringing her up all these years, hiding the truth from all; and think of how much his amma will be shattered by this act of Anu's and how much amma banked on Anu and what about their family maanam and mariyaadhai..She has kolachufied that. Anu says, see, you are talking like this to me because in your hearts, you think of me as a vElaikaari's daughter only; otherwise you would be more bothered about my life; but no, it is your precious family's social standing that bothers you the most; and she categorically states that she has decided to marry Mano and she knows for sure he was not after her money or wealth; and so it should be good riddance to their family; Adhi is furious, sees red, and whips out his gun; True to his earlier character disposition, he brings out a gun from his pyjama bottom and holds it up to Anu's head. Meanwhile we see Thols' neck threatened by a knife of Adhi's goonda and another one near Mano.

Just then, the friendly inspector comes and looks like Thols had the good sense to place a call to him and summon him in anticipation of Adhi's eccentric behaviour. The inspector says, why all this fuss? after all it is a love affair and both are majors and ok, it is disheartening for the family, but these things happen. A loitering reporter sticks up his head, recognizing Adhi and he is being led away by the police; he protests he wants to get the scoop abt the noted Adhi family; Now Abhi says, ok, so far, i have been neutral but this gun-whipping act of Adhi's has made up my mind; I will endorse this marriage; Adhi swears vengence and curses at Anu. He tells her that as far as he and his family are concerned, she is as well as dead; and pity her if she thinks she can lead a happy life with this useless guy. Also, ava amma buddhi dhaana avaLakkum irukkum; Anu says, i don't care, since this no longer concerns you, you better remove yourself from this place and Adhi says, Abhi, so far you have been only my virOdhi as far as our thozhil was concerned; but with this, there is janma pagai. I will torture you all and not let you live in peace; so saying, he walks off, with tears in his eyes; for once, i pitied him. and I fully blame Anu. She shd have had the guts to talk abt this to Kanchana and then get her blessing. Whatever said and done, Kanchu did bring her up like her own daughter and Anu is an ungrateful witch;

They go inside, get married, Abhi signs as groom's witness; Thols as bride's witness; maalai maatrinaaL anu maalai maatrinaaL; vetti pEchu abhi vaazhtha, aadhi manasu kodhikkavE, maalai maatrinaan, manO maalai maatrinaan;

Then Thols hands over a thaali (nalla samayOjitha naNban; vara vazhila policekkum solli, oru manja kayirayum vaangittaanE) to abhi and abhi asks Mano to tie it in Anu's neck. Anu oru look vittuttu (vekkamaam - we have to believe that) bends down her head; then Abhi moves away, with tears in her eyes; ananda kaNNeer or avasara kaNNeer? Mano observes her and Thols asks them to get her blessings; they fall on her feet, and she stops them (why do they do that? in all serials, the elderly, stop the youngsters midway and bless them and ask them why do they have to do that? it is obvious that in our custom, it is only right we get the blessings by falling on their feet; this being so, why stop them midway?) and wishes them to live happily ever after. (knowing fully well it is a very tall order, given the fact that no one in their life has ever had marital bliss; sabikka patta kudumbam - idhul adhu adhugaL Odi pOi kalyanam vEra kattikara) - like KB direction, they should have shown, abhi veettil, kalyana life-na, then outside, KKK asking a kaaikari vendor, kilo enna vilai? or enga kedaikkum?.

A very dejected Adhi walks into his house and holds court; he tells them their chella poNNu Anu has mOsam senjufied all and has married that vElaikkaara Mano. Kanchu is shocked; in fact, Paatti is more shocked than Kanchu. Eashwaran just observes this without any emotions; (me have a feeling this guy is always on kanja or something; otherwise why have a blank expression always?) Anjali does a 'pschu' with her lips; (this disdainful look has been perfected in Selvi and she carries the same here); Adhi yells, what else can you expect from a maid's daughter? even though we considered her one of our own, she proved to be her mom's daughter after all; (why don't they talk abt dad? who was Kanchu's brother?) nobody expresses shock at this revelation; they just look on in confusion; Kanchu rushes in to the room, closes, everyone bangs, Adhi says he will not live if Kanchu did something stupid; at this, kanchu comes out composed and says, this is the end of Anu. no one should ever talk abt her anymore in this house; she walks off;
(seer senathi ellaam marandhu pOyitta pOla irukku? should ask Lakalaka to come list out the andaan and kundaans so Adhi can send in a truck full) probably vethu vEttu paatti and adhai vida periya Vettu MaapLai anuppumO ennavO?

Abhi leads the newly married pair, maalaiyum kazhuthumaa (thanks to inspector, kazhuthus were there - probably this is where the term originated from. if marriage not endorsed by others, there is a good chance you will have the maalai but no kazhuthu) and Arthi comes out and is shocked/stunned/this is what I surmised from her wooden Pinocchio expression.
Next, is is Anandhi's turn and she is shocked/stunned. KKK comes out casually and it is her turn to be shocked/stunned but with water effects. She opens up the Niagara and comes out; she asks Abhi is this what she came here for? she was asked to come down from delhi to buddhi pugattufy Mano but Abhi herself has conducted their marriage? what is she thinking? Abhi says now is not the time to talk about these trivial things and more important matters are pending; like doing aarathi for the newly weds. She asks Arthi whose legs seem to be frozen, besides her face; She then looks at anandhi and asks her to go get it; Anandhi turns to go but then KKK stops her. She tells Abhi that why should they do it? Abhi says, sandharppam and soozhnilai directed her to do this and KKK as the pethava must do the aarathi; and they can talk about all this inside the house; it is not right to conduct such conversations outside, with the lovebirds, oops, new bride and groom standing. KKK says, you were perfectly fine to have the wedding without this pethava. So, if you didn't need me for that, why now? She then tells Anandhi that no one from this house should do the aarathi for them; if it is done, then 'naan uyirOda irukka maattEn';...

Update for Wed Jun 7-2007

Scene 1

Missed the starting few minutes. Abi and aarthi setting the dinner and calling everyone. Aarthi says Anandhi has gone out on an assignment. Mano/anu are called for dinner.Now Mano starts eating right away (must be very hungry!) but Karpagam is still sulking and Anu/Aarthi also sitting and looking hesitant. Abhi tries to tell Karpagam that I have made nice Rasam and so please come and take food.After Abhi repeatedly calls her, she gets up and goes out of the room followed by Abhi and aarthi. Karpagam tells Abhi that her mind is not feeling like taking food and she refuses to come. Looking at the scene, anu also goes into her room followed by Mano who asks her why she is doing like that.Anu tells him that she is feeling insulted and how can she take food food like that. Abhi now steps in and tells her that you have to understand the feelings of people here. Mano's mother and sisters had high expectations from him and now he has married suddenly against their wishes and to someone whose family has been troubling us. Hence they have every right to be angry.These things take time to heal and you have to be patient.,she advises Anu.She further says she herself and Anandhi are dealing friendly with you and so you have to be satisfied with that for the time being and gradually things will be ok.

Scene 2

Kanchana in the bedroom and crying. Easwar listens to the crying and gets up and starts consoling her. She says she regarded Anu as her own daughter and she never considered her as a servant's daughter. When that was the case, how can she consider doing like this to me? Now what answer shall we give to Kishore and his family,she asks.Now she says she had maximum affection for Anu and she asks him why people with whom she has maximum faith are failing her and letting her down? Easwar gets pricked by the question and comes out of the room and is lost in his thoughts.

Scene 3

Adhi in minister's house boozing and Rekha watching the scene.The same matter is being discussed. Minister says this Abhi is only responsible for all this. Adhi says she is torturing me quite a bit. First she created problem with Usha and then planted Mano as a driver in our house who seduced Anu to fall into his trap. This Abhi is the manin person responsible form all this and she should be destroyed,he says. Minister says in Ranjani case, she and TC are still out only on bail and we will try to create problem for them in that. Adhi says I am going to deal with Abhi in a different way from now on.
(Rekha still does not talk about Usha's involvement—may be waiting for a bigger confrontation)

Scene 4

Abhi coming out of the house with a file in hand and TC tells her what are you doing with the file here. She just says she was just looking at some details (in this scene again Abhi is seen holding the blue file in front—what for??)
Now Usha comes to the house and Abhi is surprised to see her and welcomes her. But Usha brushes her aside and tells her that she has not come to talk to her and goes inside shouting Anu's name. Everyone comes out incl Anu who comes finally.Usha tells Anu what exactly do you think you have done? You told Adhi that you know about your parentage. Tell me so far have they behaved in any way so as to make you think that you are a velaikari's daughter? Now Your mother is devastated. If you wanted to marry someone else, why can't you tell that before,she asks. You nwaited till the day of betrothal to do this. She tells Mano that now only she realized why you were in the hospital that day. She tells Abhi that she never expected Abhi to conduct this marriage—instead of stopping it.TC reminds Usha how much Abhi did for getting Usha's marriage done. For this Usha repies that her case was different because in her case, Abhi had tried all normal things like speaking to Adhi, his parents and then when these efforts failed, then only she decided to do the ultimate step.

Finally Usha storms out of the house sarcastically telling thanks to all the friends not having any conscience.

kishores family come and tell adhis family that kishore wants to marry anjali & not anu. Adhi & co are very relieved. kishores dad wants to see anu and say sorry to anu. Adhi hesitates, kishore says he will say speak with anu later. Kishore takes adhi away and tells him, that he knows about anus marriage with mano. Kishore says that usha was the one who came and told him about everything & asks him to marry anjali like he originally wanted, and finally she said one thing which really moved kishores, which was if he marries anjali it will really help adhi & please him. Adhi is a little moved towards kishore, and kishore tells him to thank usha, as when she came and spoke to me, i could only see the love she had for you and your family. Kishore tells adhi that he is very lucky. Adhi turns and sees usha serving juice to every one happily. & finally adhi has a smile on his face looking at usha 👏

Abhi at work & ganga is applying butter to abhi by saying how abhi has so much going on at home & here she is inquiring about bhaskar. Abhi inquires about how are things at work, ganga says there is no issues atwork, just when she says that the phone rings and she has bad news, that there is some problems at the stie with the supervisor. Abhi asks ganga to call thuls, ganga calls and says that she cannot rech him, abhi asks with ganga so they can leave, bhaskar offers to go with them, abhi hesitates, but ganga wants bhaskar so they all go together. There she finds out that there is an issue with one of their employees, who got paid the previous day but wants more. Abhi is asking the person what his problem is at that time bhaskar leaves, the worker says that he got hurt and needs compensation. Abhi asks him to work for the company sincerely, and if the company grows you will also grow. The mestry says he will take care of the issue, and is in a hurry to takes the person away. Mestry is questioning that worker who is striking, bhaskar is waiting in a corner, that person tells the mestry that i knwo abhout abhi, she is a porambokku, bhaskar gets angry and hits the worker, Abhi and all other workers gang up, and everyone supports the worker, mestry asks abhi to leave with bhaskar.

Adhi is with the minister, and one of his informers come and tell about the prechanai at abhi's site. Adhi & minister are very happy. Adhi is also happy to note that bhaskar is working for abhi now, sohe can use him when the time comes. Minister asks sivakumar to bring velu(the person who got hit by bhaskar). As usual they are plotting to bring abhi down.

Friday june 9, (I think)...

Usha is talking on the phone about a late delivery of flowers or something, and Adhi comes in behind her and looks down at her, smiling. Usha doesn't notice him until she hangs up the phone and gets up. She's about to leave when Adhi calls her back. He thanks her for saving the family name and he says how he was mad at her before, but not anymore. Usha talks about how their love for each other is still there in their hearts, and that's why everytime Adhi is hurt, so is she. She says that there doesn't need to be any formalities between them, because Adhi is saying thanks and all. And then, Adhi says thank you again… (It's so nice to see those two laughing and being happy with each other. They make a nice couple). Then he asks her to talk to Anjali about her thoughts of wedding Kishore.

Usha goes to Anjali and brings up the topic of her marrying Kishore. She asks Anjali if she's alright with it. Anjali seems a bit indecisive and confused… she says that Kishore was going to make Anu, and now he's marrying her, so it's a bit weird for her. Usha says that you were the one that Kishore's family had originally asked for, but because Anu was elder and needed to marry first, everyone decided for Anu to marry Kishore instead of Anjali. Before Usha goes, Anjali asks her one favour—that Usha pick out her engagement saree.

Abhi and co. (excluding Thols) is in their office. Thols comes in and sits down, and starts talking about how much problems they're going to have now before of Bhaskar's rash actions in hitting that worker. Abhi's first boss (I forgot his name) says that the problem has already been solved. And Thols says "no"… Adhi and co found out about it, so they're going to use it to their advantage by going to the Union. Ganga tries to defend Bhaskar but Thols says that she shouldn't interfere in this, they need to be careful with labour worker problems. He then says that Bhaskar shouldn't have rushed. Bhaskar gets up and says that Thols is only saying that because he doesn't like him, and didn't want him to work in the office in the first place. Bhaskar says that the man was talking wrongly of Abhi, so he hit him. Then Thols asks Bhaskar, "And when you spoke ill of Abhi in divorce court, who hit YOU then?" (*clap* Excellent comeback, Thols!). Thols immediately apologizes to Abhi and leaves the office.

Abhi, Abhi past boss, and Thols go to the Union leader's office. The union leader starts asking them about how they can hit a worker, and what makes them think that they have the right to hit a worker, blah blah. Abhi starts saying that the worker himself acted wrongly too, because he had come to work drunk and all. The union leader is being very one-sided and blaming everything on Abhi, and no fault on the worker. Abhi says that all the work has stopped and they can't have problems like these right now, and they are very desperate to get the workers back. So the union leader says that if you apologize to the worker that Bhaskar hit, and also write him an apology note, then we can allow for the work to continue. Abhi looks outraged at this—the worker should be apologizing also. Thols also saying that it seems the union leader is only taking one side. The worker that was hit comes in, and the union leader says that Abhi and co won't apologize. Blah blah blah… In the end, Thols says that they WON'T apologize, no matter what, and that they'll deal with this another way and Abhi and co. leave.

Ganga meets up with Bhaskar at some caf. Bhaskar is very upset and he says that Thols is nothing but trouble to him. He's always been causing troubles for him and Abhi. Ganga says that Thols is not like that, he's a good man. And Bhaskar says that she doesn't know anything. Then he says that after Abhi and Bhaskar had gotten engaged, Thols had sent Abhi a love letter. Ganga looks absolutely shocked! …

June 12, 2006 - Monday updt.

Ganga screws up Basker's mind and vice versa.

Basker and Ganga continue their little tete-e-te and Basker tells Ganga that Thols is the prime suspect in his breakup with Abhi. Why else would Thols give a love letter to Abhi after she was engaged? Gangs is riveted by this info and looks forward to hearing more of the same.
(vitta copy of the letter kEppaa pOla irundhadhu). Basker says that ever since his marriage to Abhi, thols has tried to insinuate himself into all of Abhi's matters thus causing a wedge in their marital relationship. And he talks abt the time when Thols was stabbed and Abhi gave him her blood for the transfusion. As far as Basker was concerned, that was the final straw that broke their marriage's back. (ellaa husbandukkum pondaattuvOda karpu kuduthaa dhaan sandhEham varum, but our basker is a vinOdhaamaanavanE - ratham kuduthaalE pOchu)
Next he will start singing - pondaatti sirichaa pOchu, udhiram koduthaal pOchu...

He says even now Thols doesn't want him in this firm...he brainwashes Abhi and also other members of her family. Ok, Abhi did start helping his family in the end, especially when his no-good waste father was wasted; also, did Ganga know about the lady Thols is harboring in his home, calling her his friend's wife? He gets really heated up and sets Ganga thinking. Ganga says, but didn't you also misjudge Abhi's character and threw mud at her in the court? Basker hangs his head in shame and says even for that Thols was responsible. (yeah, right)

Ganga says they have to make sure that Thols becomes dispensable to Abhi. Right now, thols has managed to make himself the right hand man of Abhi whom she cannot function without, but now knowing Basker's capabilities and his undying love for his ex-wife, she has come to a conclusion. She questions Basker if he still considers Abhi as his wife, which he gives a big nod to. She says, first we have to make Abhi believe in you and then transfer her belief from Thols to you. I did not understand you fully but now that I know of your '(ig)noble' intentions, I will help you in all way possible to oust Thols and replace you in that slot. Basker is ever gratified (he almost had tears in his eyes - me, I saw '777' in his eyes, just like Bugs bunny sees in slot machines - yes, I get more and more moola, thinks Basker)
Ganga has that crafty look in her face...(if only Basker's alamelu saw this look and heard this plan, she herself would promise to make Ganga her second DIL - a sakkaLathi to Abhi)

...phew!!!!! the above took a whole segment...man, I was glad for the commercials..

Baasha meeting the runaway pauper queen:

In, opens the gate, and our Rajesh baasha walks in to felicitate the newly weds. But only the female lovebird is there. He calls out tentatively his machaan's name and Anu receives her 'aNNEy'! I was struck by something here. Here is a girl who comes from a supposedly refined family and dutifully calls Adhi - aNNaa sometimes. So, why does Rajesh bhaiyaa become aNNEy!? why this term? sounded so artificial...She gushes and says no one is home but her and thanks Rajesh profusely and anudhaaba pattufies about his broken bones, so to speak. He says all was well now that the lovebirds have tied the marital knot and he was glad to be instrumental in that. she goes in to get coffee and in comes BadrakaaLi Ms.Wooden expression-Arthi who screams why autowala is here. Hasn't he done enough to bring this family to tears and unmentionable kashtams? why did he dare to interfere in Mano's life and what business is it of his to ensure that Mano marries Anu? Rajesh tries to get a word or two in edgewise but unable to, under her verbal assault. I ran for some cotton balls to stuff in my ears and thankfully Ms.Runaway got the coffee only to be thatti vittufied by Ms.Prim and Proper. She asks husband dear to get out and he goes like a hurt dog...Anu is shocked and runs behind her brother to fall at his feet and get his blessings...unga nalla uLLam vaazhthanum..and crap and he is overcome with emotion. Arthi just glares...(what else can these girls do?)

Thols vents his feelings;

In a conference room, Thols, KichKich and Abhi are having a meeting with Abhi being a silent spectator. KichKich accuses Thols of impatience and not dealing effectively with the labor problem but Thols reminds him that they were dealing with a man who drank and came to the site; and what business is it of Basker's to challenge him? It was Basker's interference that has brought this matter to its current problems. and KichKich is offended and says, ok, now I don't know how to conduct business and walks off. Now Thols asks Abhi how is it he was not consulted when she appointed Basker. Abhi tries to say that Ganga was instrumental and that she had said that Thols already approves and was himself looking out for a suitable job for Basker, when Thols interrupts her. He tells her that as the head, she had every right to appoint anybody but usually she consults him and according to him, Basker has no place within this building. For he has cheated Abhi on all counts and he knows Basker in and out and he is a fraud..and he is going to cause heartaches by being here. Abhi says she has not forgotten what Basker did to her and she knows how to place him. Thols acts as a sulky child. (abhi was almost tempted to give him a timeout in the corner chair).

Shopping mela;

Anu and Mano are in a shop looking at silk sarees. anu likes one but the tag says Rs.3058 and looking at a pale Mano (he has seen the tag), Anu says, she knows that he cannot afford that saree; so let us go to an affordable section to look at more sarees; Mano is chagrined at this but moves away; On the other side, we see Usha asking for costlier richer sarees for Anjali's engagement. Anjali is with her. Both parties see each other and Usha turns her face away. Mano calls her akka and she says, I am not your akka. You have a bhoom bhoom maadu in your house who nods her head for whatever u ask of her and only she is your akka; don't even attempt to talk to me and she blasts at Anu too. She asks Mano how he could lie and cheat to her that day at the hospital when spotted, he told her he was visiting an ailing friend in ICU. She screams at them and a very visibly hurt Mano and Anu leave.
(sorry no saree)

They alight from the auto (definitely not free of cost as it was not driver by autowala) and Mano feels sad that their first shopping trip was not fruitful. Anu says they can buy it later and Mano leaves her and says he has something to do and goes away, leaving his wife protesting. Inside, jeebhoombha chithi has materialized with her daughter Sumathy and commiserating with KKK. Anu enters, Sumathy asks if this is the new bride, says hello, to be rebuffed by Anu, who ignores her and goes inside. Arthi yells at Anu and asks if this is what manners are for the rich. Can't Anu even acknowledge the hello. Anu says, she doesn't know who this girl was and then the peace corp angel in the form of chithi comes to mediate. Chithi says, if all had been done as it should be, then Anu would have known all the sondha bandhangaL.(heaven forbid, besides this chithi, there is not a soul in this household as sondham- who would want to know the obnoxious chithapa or the runaway mama rajendran) She says whatever be, anu is a vaazha vandha poNNu and so chithi has to welcome her and that she is her chinna maamiyaar and opens her small purse to take a smaller gift and Anu says, stop, no, I do not want it; and KKK looks up from her glycerine-soaked eyes/saree with a wounded look.

(yeah!! one whole episode without Adhi...it was great..thank you TC, for sparing us from watching this wacko consecutively in two serials)

Update for Wed Jun 14-2006--Pretty boring stuff today



Scene 1


Mahesh talking about his meeting Abhi in the construction site. She says she was not interested in the marriage but was compelled to agree. So it I better to droop the betrothal matter, she says. Now Mahesh asks a very funny thing—what about marrioage? She says marriage is not possible and it is not advisable also.

Mahesh recounts his talk and says we all wish the best for Abhi but if she says categorically like this, what to do? Also now there is a additional complication now—bhaskar is working in her company and there is more contact between them now and in these circumstances, my marriage with her is not really feasible.

Karpagam just looks sad but does not really say anything.



Scene 2



Kala in her house and trying to give some home medication to her daughter. Her husband has his hand in a sling (not yet recovered from police attack). Now some one comes in and says he is from the pawn broker's shop and Panneer from this house has taken Rs.5000 from the shop but has not signed in the notebook,so please sign here, he says. Panneer looks puzzled and Kala asks what was your urgency to take so much money. She also asks the man are you sure this is the house. He says it is this address only and the name of the person is Panneer. Rajesh and his friend are in a adjoining room listening in to the conversation and Panneer now comes near his brother and asks him to tell the truth whether he has taken the money. Rajesh denies it but his "dhanda" friend spills the beans and says how you can tell our thalaivar like this. You know why he took the money—it is for a honourable cause—buying saree for mano's wife. Rajesh looks very sheepish and Kala gets angry and tells Rajesh are you not satisfied with getting beating for your brother like this and you want to do this also? Enna vevasthatha ketta kudumbamo—she says.



Scene 3



Abhi in her house looking at some files. Chithhi and Karpagam come there and ask her what she is doing. She says she is just checking out some office papers. Now karpagam says she went to see Mahesh and he told us that you mentioned to him that you are not interesyed in the marriage. She asks and why you did like that and why you did not tell us about this before?

Abhi says it is only right that I should tell first to Mahesh about this and hence I told him first. I did this because I don't feel like getting married again. Chitthi says this is all becaue you are thinking about what that Narayanan told you before his death. Abhi says what "appa" said was to take care of his family in "amma sthaanam". I am doing that only now. Bhaskar could not get a job elsewhere because the prospective employers were talking about his past and he was getting depressed and even mihgght have committed suicide. It is my duty in "thai sthaanam" to take care of him and his family and hence I decided to give him job in our office. Chithhi says this narayanan said something out of his personal interests towards his family and you should have given something and kept out of the way. She also asks how you have forgotten the tortures that you have undergone in their hands. But Abhi says that is the same case with you also. Despite chitappa giving so much trouble to you still you are supporting him. She further says,neither Bhaskar nor Mahesh have any place in my life anymore. I have been married for just 1 year and please allow me to serve this family for ever.This marriage and similiar things will not occur to me again in my life.



Scene 3



Anu with Mano and is seen closing her eyes and Mano is trying to surprise her with the new saree. Now she opens her eyes and sees the saree and asks whether it is the same and how he was able to get the money for that. She also feels that it is pretty costly being more than Rs.3000. Now Mano asks her to wear the saree but Anu is reluctant saying your mother and sisters are there and in thissituation how I can wear a costly saree like this? But Mano does not understand this and tells her to wear the saree. Outside the room Aarthi is seen and very curiously listening in. Now Anu says there is no problem about anyone except Aarthi who has a big mouth and is jealous also. She says Rajesh anna is such a nice person and this Aarthi has left him and come here. I will wear the saree only when she leaves, she says.( bit too much on Anu's part—instead of trying to win over the people in Mano's house, she is antoganising them). Now Aarthi comes storming in and asks how you can ask me about my staying here—You should not be stayin here,she says.. Anu says she is staying in her huband's house,that is all.Mano supports Anu and Aarthi say you are a udhavakkarai not having a job ,running behind your wife and catching her saree.Mano gets angry and tries to hit Aarthi.Anandhi comes in and asks what is the problem and Abhi now comes and listens to both and tells Aarthi to go inside and tells Anu that she is sorry for the way Aarthi has behaved. Anu says no need to say sorry for this thing..

Abhi now calls Mano separately and says that she is very proud that he has bought a saree for his wife for Rs.3000 and she says if he wants to buy for his sisters, he need only ask her. Now she further says when you bought the saree for Rs.3000 for your wife, how come you could not buy for your mother a saree for at least Rs.300?

Mano looks stunned and Karpagam listening in gets emotional and wipes her tears.

Usha is taken to the hospital unconcious, shanthi spots her at the hospital & calls Thuls.

Thuls arrives calls adhi, adhi slams the phone down saying he has no relationship with usha. thuls calls usha's parents

meantime abhi tackles the workers problem created by bhaskar and arrives at the hospital, so des usha's parents

Usha delivers a BABY boy.

Adhi is notified by usha's father, who refuses to come.(what kind of a person he is always angry and bitter, i think the child is better of without such a ugly person for a dad)

Hope usha's parents & usha dont go on an verbal abuse Abhi time again, once they find out about mano's wedding casue
