Culture - Merriam Webster - the customary beliefs, social forms, and
material traits of a racial, religious, or social group; also : the character-
istic features of everyday existence (as diversions or a way of life}
shared by people in a place or time.

In short it is a way of life common for any human being-
enlightened, sane, human being - customary - which brings us to
another word custom

custom - Merriam Webster again ( I am dead meat with out
MW dictionary and thesaurus!!)- to a usage or practice common
to many or to a particular place or class or habitual with an
individual b: long-established practice considered as unwritten law
c: repeated practice d: the whole body of usages, practices, or
conventions that regulate social life.

So, irrespective of the religion (religion itself is a way of life!!)
these words just describe the normal decorum to be practiced
by any one - with no gender specifics - under any circumstances ,
not just when u are in company or in public eye!!!

These words are so broad and accommodating that every one
uses it to their advantage/convenience. Etymology apart, what we
need to appreciate here is the norms, the decorum and the ethics
to be followed - politicians will politicize any thing. In this particular
case it is also possible that they wanted to limit the case to themselves
as they did not want to attract the wrath of other bodies!!! Some kind
of identifying themselves in to a group!!!

Religion is a way of life, it just teaches you to shape your life - take
it or leave it - no religion will sit with a ruler and supervise individuals !!!
It is unfortunate that we always tend to overlook the message but hang
on to the fringes!!!

Ditty thanks ma for the "revealing" picture!!!
Thank God that my daughters do not roam around the
streets of any city in such outfits!!! Because, if
they did, I can not act as a control freak mom and
tell them the dos and donts - I can just cringe and
shiver inside myself!!!!

of course there were whistles & applause when shreya went to receive the award. the tamil audiences don't get many chances like this to see a free show, inside out.😉

and i bet all the people who whistled for her are either hot-blooded males who fantasise about getting jiggy with shreya or some fanatics of rajini who probably applauded for her just because rajini smiled & waved at her.😆😆

rajini is a very open & friendly person, i'm sure he'll welcome anyone with open arms. even T Rajendar.😆 shreya just got a whiff of rajini's hospitality, that doesn't prove anything. you don't see him coming to her aid in this whole overexposure matter do you? he's a wise man.😊

thank you roja akka for that little 'gift' of shreya in that appalling white dress.😆😆

thanks once again akka.

haha.. it won't be long before we have nothing left to imagine akka. the state of starlet's dresses in both films & functions alike are already going from bad to worse. it's like they've run out of clothes.😆😆 have all the mills around the world shut down that women are parading around half naked?

honestly there must be better way to make a style statement than showing your assets in public.

women nowadays.. some of them really baffle me. they dress this way & then when some hot-blooded male tries to get jiggy with them, they raise a hue & cry about how he tried to molest her. hello? there won't be a need for all that molestation/rape crap if some women just cover up.

(My cousin sent this to me, so thought of sharing with my IF friends....)

Shriya apologizes! (Source: sify.com by Moviebuzz)

Shriya has tendered an unconditional apology for "wearing inappropriate skimpy attire" at the silver jubilee celebration of Sivaji, where Tamilnadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi was the chief guest.

A day earlier the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) had lodged a complaint against the actress and sought police intervention to take legal action. Shriya says since she was coming from Istanbul in Turkey where she was shooting for the Hindi film Mission Istanbul via Mumbai to Chennai to attend the function, she had no time to change!

Shriya in her apology statement said: "I will be sending a letter of apology to Chief Minister Karunanidhi and members of HMK. I would like to apologize profusely if I have inadvertently offended anybody with my attire."

The views expressed in the article are the author's and not of Sify.com.
