I loved this film! I normally avoid a film with Simbu in it, and I'm not a huge fan of Trisha either. I thought I'd give it a go because of Goutham Menon's rep...and it was definitely worth it. Simbu has done a great job, so different from his other roles in the past. I really liked Trisha as Jessie too. There was no overacting, and the storyline was ok. I loved the music and BGMs but my fave thing about this movie is the screenplay and imagery - amazing is an understatement. You have to watch it to see what I am talking about.

Hey friends, normally I not a Simbu or Trisha fan however, I really had to watch this movie due to Gautham and wat can I say.......the movie was one of the best movies I had watched in years. I was surprised of both Simbu and Trishas acting. Both had done full justice to the role....the music, songs and storyline was totally amazing.
I really taught the ending was touching as I felt sorry for the couple. I really wanted a happy ending....as I believe in mixed culture marriages and relationship...
I recommand its a movie to watch.

Gautham Menon must be excited not just because his latest release Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is getting rave reviews but because one of the pillars of Tamil cinema, director K Balachandar has praised his work. KB has in fact sent a three-page letter to Gautham showering accolades on him for a making a film like VTV. Now, that's one tribute that Gautham would cherish for his lifetime.

Man.. I managed to watch 1/2 of the moive and need to finish the other half soon.. So far its awesome.. just found it a lil slow here and there.. but it was realistic though.. can't wait to watch the rest.. will come back after watching the whole thing.... BGM is mindblowing (and not to forget the songs and picturization)... 👏👏 hats off to the VTV team

Seen: VTV *ing Trisha and Simbu here in the US.

The movie starts of exquisitely. Trisha in minimal make up and the speedy first half and it all looks very real. Till the last scene prior to the interval.
Most or all tamil directors lose their heads in the 2nd half. There is no second guessing here, exactly what happens. In the end, what was the whole point? The director fails to make one.
For avid Trisha watchers, she is at her best. Out come all the costumes in all shapes and forms. She is stunning. It is so obvious she's stepped down a bit for Simbu.
Shreya Ghosal, she's tremendous. If Sachin Tendulkar deserves Bharat Ratna, put one on her neck too.
A couple of years ago they both were on Vijay Tv when a special show for Trisha was made. Simbu was the compere.' He said she'd gone streets ahead and there was never any chance for him to act again with her. She sympathised with him. I knew they will get togetther.
What a script! What a director!! He treated his stars like commoners. There's only one line I'd disagree with in the whole film: that's "this is America, it's ok to kiss." That sheds very poor light on American Indians. There are many if not all that are more traditional than the ones back home too!

Managed to watch the movie last night (overslept and was late to work)
Loved the scenery, the songs, the acting by Trisha & Simbu, Was beautiful. The story line a bit dragging for me. Other than that, it was good.
Kudos to Simbu, for taking a challenge like this and he was not able to use his punchline, out of the world beating up gangsters, excagerrated acting.
Well done Simbu. And Trisha, you were good too.

Jags,
Of course Shriya can be tamed. Like Trisha, she too has long way to go. Guess what I even saw Shriya's movie in Telugu/Malayalam (with subtitles of course). OMG........ she is so different than in Tamil movies. Unbelievable. But then maybe these films are her early film.
have you seen Kutty? The movie was okay - simple love story between her and Dhanush, but apparently this film was not well received in India, but it did well (or quite) in Malaysia. I wondered why......... I guess it has to be either there was not much of a fight for Dhanush or Shriya was fully clothed for the whole movie. 😆😆😆😆
