Hey Everybody, I just came across Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code.. And i was so surprised to see the resemblance between Kohinoor and Da Vinci Code..

Just like the serial the book starts with Jacques Sauniere's Murder (kunal singh rathore) in famous paris museum and he has written some numbers and stuff and drawn some pictures around himself before dying.

The character of sophia(who happens to be Sauniere's granddaughter) ends up on the scene as she is a cryptologist, and then there is this hero Robert langdon( i am not sure whether its Samar or Karan).

There is Bezu Fache who is a very fierce and intelligent French FBI type officer who is hell bent on finding the murderer, which i think resembles our local bambaiya police inspector.

And then there is Silas who is Kaali in kohinoor who takes orders from his Teacher (in this case Acharya) and commits murders and has blind faith in teacher and god, and thinks what he is doing is necessary for mankinds future and all that.

Other than that there r so many things which r similar like the key which iravati found and the Pali language and all that. Too much to be just a coincidence is what i think.. what do u think?

yea...the basic plot is almost an exact copy of the Da Vinci Code, but there is a difference...for starters, Kohinoor has nothing to do with the Sacred Feminine or any particular religion...then the clues and riddles are different, and lead to different things like the Harappan Clay Cart, so this way, despite having read the da vinci code, the viewer does not feel as though he knows what is going to happen...and that's a good thing, since it helps the viewer to be completely glued to it...

but yes, i agree that the main storyline is a Da Vinci Code dejavu...the character of Ira is similar to both Langdon and Sophie, since Sophie is Sauniere's granddaughter and inherits the secret, and Langdon is the one who gets framed for his murder and chased all over the country by Fache...Kaali is the counterpart of Silas, and yes here the character has been exactly copied to every nuance...as far as the Teacher is concerned, well "Acharya" is the exact hindi translation of the word - need i say more?
Karan's character is still hazy, though if we go roughly by the book, then he should turn out to be the Acharya, but i can't say for sure...Sunita Iyer's character is similar to none of the characters tho...likewise Rakesh...
all in all, an Indianised Da Vinci code, with a difference...
