Anuj turns to documentaries
Actor-turned-producer Anuj Saxena is presenting a documentary, Fables of Birth, directed by Sahana Bhattacharya, which takes a look at the lives of two midwives in a West Bengal village.
Bhattacharya, who has worked on the subject for seven years, follows the mid-wives as they go about through their work — helping women deliver.
Saxena, who is also a doctor says, "As I have my own production house (Maverick), I am always on the look out for interesting subjects. This was an excellent topic for us to present ourselves as a documentary maker and the subject appealed to me both as a producer and as a viewer."
Fables of Birth will be screened on the festival circuit beginning with 'Sunny Side of the Doc' in France.
Saxena, who is seen in the afternoon soap, Risshton Ki Dor on Sony, is also producer of Khiladi No 1 on Zee Smile. It is also work in progress for TV soaps and a feature film as producer.
