Shveta Salve to host 'Popkorn' on Zoom

By Arpana, Mumbai: Small screen diva Shveta Salve is ready to entertain couch potatoes with juicy gossips about their favourite artistes as the new host of "Popkorn" on channel Zoom from Monday.

The actress, who became one of the most sought name after her stint in "Lipstick", "Kittie Party" and "Sarrkkar", replaces Mini Mathur and joins Shonali Nagrani to host the show alternately which is a daily round up of the latest happenings from the starry world of television, cinema and music at 8 p.m.

She is looking forward to anchoring and says it is like a breather for her.

"After acting in serials, you really enjoy the change when it comes back to hosting. It's refreshing," Shveta told IANS on phone from Mumbai.

Asked about whether she would be uncomfortable talking about her colleagues' personal lives, she said: "I'm not the one who is leaking the information. The organisers are running it for a long time and they have a good reputation and I am sure they will be taking care of such things."

"Whatever I will say on the show will be scripted by someone else. I'm not going to write them. I just have to present what is given to me."

About her career on small screen, she said: "I think 'Lipstick' and 'Kittie Party' gave me the prominence on small screen. After these two serials people started recognising me."

A complete movie-buff, Shveta loves dancing and these days she can be seen as a psychiatrist in "Left Right Left" on SAB TV and a boss of a news agency in "Kittu Sab Janti Hai" on Sahara One.
