[Note: I apologize for the length of this post. Didn't have time to fix it.]
You know..today I expected a total downer episode (given yesterday's brilliance) but hey, today was pretty darned good as well.
Starting with eye staring and ending up on nails! I was in stitches, and remembering a vibrant I-F post both praising and knocking Arohi's prettily manicured looooong nails! And then Arohi goes the predictable naivete route. And protective Arjun. Nice. No complaints.
Then the Salil-Purvi scene was not half bad. I mean, it was dumb alright, but it sounded like a closure to the whole S-P-W track. I think they got the message. This track is boring.
And the party scenes start...new clothes, nice ...Arjun drinking, Arohi crying over him, all in view of each other , very nice. Arohi looking georgeous, and Arjun looking hot, very very nice.
So setup is complete. We have tonnes of eye-candy (AP, AS, KS, M/M/M). And bubbles. Let the games begin!!
Some Thoughts:
1. Ok, why on earth can't Arjun admit his love at HOME, you know, alone, rather than in a public venue like the studio? When he has the chance to come clean at home, he gives it up, but in front of random strangers and KS, he is all weepy and open? Arjun, dear, your timing is aweful! Besides, it takes more than a 5 minute plea to manao your roothha hua yaar. (For God Sake it took her weeks to say ILU...she's a little slow...remember?) Boss, pencil an evening out on your calendar, & spend a good 4-5 hours grabbing her hand, cornering her, crying, and talking. What yaar..itna bhi nahin samajhte ho?
2. Ahhh, the love was actually there. You could see it in Arohi's eyes. And, of course, Arjun's eyes could write an entire novel. Par these can't read eyes. Take lessons from KS, na? On second thought. don't. I'de rather watch them muddle through this phase. Very much like real life, isn't it? Looking into someone's eyes and seeing something there, and then thinking, did I really see it or am I just going mad? Finally concluding that you are just seeing what you want to see...been there, done that! 😉
3. A point of technicality: it is interesting to note that there is no recap nor is there a precap these days. We are getting straight into the meat of the story. This is great news for regular watchers, and I think indicates a level of maturity (makers & audience). Plus, more content! Now, if only one could get rid of the mini-precaps between commercials, then we could genuinely be grasped by the twists and turns.
4. First segment - Hey Bhagwaan, they are more P-P (pati-patni) than Salil-Purvi, isn't it? The proof? Arjun is getting the lights fixed. He's home so Arohi doesn't need to be afraid of intruders. He calls her Princess and tells her to get up. All in the midst of a dhuan-daar fight. My God!
5. America-returned Yankee culture? ummm....come again? This is the first reference I've ever heard to Punji's foreign-ness. I was a little floored (& amused). But I really like this - the 'Yankee' (he he he) is an angel, and the Desi is a devil. Despite appearances being otherwise. Mr. Yankee is principled and goes ga-ga over his woman in a salwar suit, while Mr.India is scruple-less and only likes women in micro-minis and less. Ironic. And yet, believable. It's not the country, it's the person. :)
6. They have decided to let Kritika act again...yeah! Thank you! And you know what this means? AROHI IS BACK!! (Notice she returned only after Arjun admitted his love to her again..coincidence?)
7. Mallika, with Priya Bhateja, is going to go from Bimbo to person, i think. Already, she has started thinking. Now I am REALLY loking forward to the DTPH-esque dance showdown between Arohi&Mallika. The other chick had no chance. But Priya?..she is a Nach Baliye (dance show) alumnus! Let the sparks begin! (...but you know what would be different? if Mallika& Arohi were actually to bond together as comrades rather than rivals...but then, that would be so very un-serial-like)
8. Taxi cabs & Mumbai: since when do people not ask before entering a taxi how much it will cost (approx) or at least monitor the meter enroute? Maha bewakoof. Whatever. You knew she was going to take the train back. I guess it's an excuse to leave early.
9. Last thought on Kritika. The woman is incredible! Don't know how much I likes the suit, but she looked AMAZING in it!! Arjun's expression when he saw her (fidaa) is exactly what I felt when i saw her in the taxi. She has defi toned-down considerably (not that she needed it) and (to me) is looking more stylish by the day. Her dark smoky makeup, head-to-toe black/gold, tight churidaar w/ heels (great look for her), straight hair - so well put together - lovely! Now all I can pray for is an Arjun-Arohi slow dance, and that she gets to take the stage during this party (i want Bhaven to see her). And if she is going to be drugged and falling into anyone's arms/bed, it better be Arjun's!#@~ Even if there is a whole month of misunderstandings as a result. Bas.
Ok...wayyyyyyyyyyy tooo long post. Whoops....Tulika.
