After shooting in Kolkata, Haridwar and other places, coming to Jaipur is like homecoming for Karan as he spent his school days here. "I studied in Mayo College and I simply love being in Rajasthan as I feel I have been transported to a different world after coming here. Plus, the taste of water, the preening peacocks and of course, the lip-smacking delicacies keep drawing me back to this city," says Kundra.

The actor was in Jaipur recently for a shoot of a TV serial based on betting
Karan Kundra was in Jaipur for a three-day shoot for the serial Gumrah — End of Innocence. The serial, with Jaipur as a backdrop, is based on true incidents which shows how young people these days are taking to betting. Says Karan, "Jaipur has earned notoriety for betting during cricket matches and we wanted to highlight this scourge among youngsters gone astray. The cast and crew shot at Jal Mahal, museums and various havelis of the city."
But what makes Karan happy is the fact that people can now relate to him with this serial and not with his earlier ones. "This serial has a lot of youth appeal and has given me a lot of scope to display my abilities," shares the actor, adding, "a lot of thought goes into the making of such a show and I am glad that through the serial, I will have saved somebody's life."
But Karan is unhappy with the deluge of daily soaps being aired these days. "I am sick and tired of these daily soaps which go on and on, and also, there is no sense of satisfaction doing these serials. I would rather quit the industry than do daily soaps," says Kundra with a smile.
Now that Karan is busy doing this crime series, he has no qualms about accepting that he was once caught for drunk driving. He says, "Long back, I was caught for drunk driving, a crime which is commonplace in India, and that is perhaps one reason why I can easily connect to the show. After shooting for Gumrah... I am a much better person today. Since the show focuses on true stories of crime committed by the youth, it has made me learn a lot about the value of human life. I can say now with conviction that this serial has brought the best out of me."
Now since he broaches the subject of parenthood, we ask him of his plans of getting married and pat comes the reply, "I am too focused right now and marriage is not my topmost priority at the moment." Karan, who broke up with his long time girlfriend, Kritika Kamra, feels that it is better to stay away from a relationship before things take an ugly turn. "It is never easy to be out of a relation but we are still Friends and I can say that she is the most understanding person in my life. Before our relationship could hit rock bottom, Kritika and I sat and discussed everything and mutually called off the relationship."
