#Chapter 7

As Arohi walked inside her room she stared herself in the mirror; she looked like what she expected to see herself a newly wedded girl with sindoor and mangalsutra. But she expected a glow on her face when she thought about marriage until yesterday when Parth seemed like a perfect guy. She was glad to have him in life until yesterday when he tried to crumple her dignity in dust. Dr. Arohi Ahluwalia expected to see herself as Dr. Arohi Parth Mittal but now she was Dr. Arohi Arjun Singhania. She was sewing the dreams of whole new life together but instead what she got was just the life as it is. Every girl expects a change when they get married she too expected it and what was wrong in that? But what she got was the same house as her sasural, same people around her, and the same memories of her mother's death and worst of all is the person who is the cause of her mother's death as her husband. She wanted to avoid him but in return what she got was a lifetime imprisonment in this relationship. The relationship everyone was looking forward to except herself and her husband. The thought of Arjun as her husband made her mind twirl around. But she needs to do what she is expected of. She took her suitcase which she was supposed to take with her to Parth's house and unlocked the door of her room.

Here Arjun was worried what will happen next. He expected hot head to shout out loud. Kill the person next to her with her glares. Go crazy and snatch away every flower that was added to make the decorations perfect but instead The Lady Hitler acted like a saint. What was she up to? Arjun was really having a horrible time guessing what is boiling up in the hot head of Arohi. He wanted to talk to her get sorted out all the things. Her composed reaction was the silence before the storm. She didn't even shed a tear that makes it worst. Time to make a move Arjun he thought to himself and was about to walk upstairs when he saw his now wife unlocking the door.

Arohi slowly dragged the suitcase behind her and everyone looked at her in horror. "What was she doing? Leaving the house? Arjun couldn't believe his eyes. Because got married to me she is planning to leave her whole family? There she is the real Arohi a total nutcase. As she took each step down the stairs Arjun glanced at his family who were looking at Arohi as though they have seen some bad witch in horror movie. Halloween was 6 days away but I was scared all doctors might need BP tablets. I was mentally preparing myself to take steps as a responsible doctor trying to control my pulse rate." Arjun thought to himself. He has no clue what he thought just now and was in no mood to rewind his thoughts. He was exhausted and joined his entire family with a horrid expression on his face staring at Arohi.

Arohi directly walked to her father and spoke softly with a slight smile on her face.

"Papa will I not get any bidai function?" the way she spoke to her father melted his heart and unknowingly Dr. Ashutosh was in tears he hugged her daughter tightly.

"What bidai function? On what was she at?" Arjun couldn't avoid his expression turned into a surprise. This was not the Arohi he knew. Marrying me certainly gained her some maturity he thoughts to himself. He wanted to chuckle at his own stupid though but he avoided as he was saving all his attacks on his all now cheerful wife when they are alone. He had so many questions running in his mind and hopefully he will get all answers tonight. As he thought tonight he felt lump in his throat. For every girl first night with her husband means a lot of happy memories for the rest of the life and here they are with the worst memories carrying in handbag whenever they are together. Arjun for the first time felt very bad for Arohi. Unknowingly he was being the cause of her sorrow.

RP watched Ashutosh and Arohi sharing a moment which he was waiting since years. Arohi controlled her overwhelming emotions and pulled away from her father and looked at her Dad.

RP nodded and signaled Kumud to do all the preparations for bidai. Everyone was happy to see Arohi smiling. Simmi, Rashi and Shefali hugged Arohi and all were set to Arjun's room for decorating his room. Romit, Sanchit and Arjun exchanged looks with one another but didn't speak anything.

When all the three girls were back Kumud told Shefali to hold the plate which had rice that needs to be thrown when the bride leaves her house. Rashi tied Arjun's and Arohi's knot once again which Arohi had untied while she walked to her room. Shefali did as told and Arohi followed the ritual. When she came out of the house they were told to wait for five minutes where Rashi put the Kalash in the front door and Simmi handed over "Pooja ki Thali" to Kumud.

Kumud performed the Aarti ritual. Arjun was looking at all the rituals and was participating in each thing he was told to do. It was Rashi's turn to lighten the moment.

"Bhai Shagun time." Rashi said teasingly.

"What is that?" Arjun asked annoyed.

"When the bride enters the house groom must award her sister?" Rashi said smiling widely.

"Oh really? What effort did you take in getting me married? Nothing so forget the shagun and all." Arjun said rolling his eyes.

"By the way the bright has been to this house many time rather we all stayed in the same house so I don't think it is necessary isn't it Arohi?" For the first time Arjun dared to spoke to Arohi. The moment he said that he regretted it as he saw Arohi glare him and signal him to give away the Shagun.

"Alright" he said gritting his teeth and counted the people who were desperately waiting for Shagun to his surprise Romit and Sanchit changed the side moment he put his hand in his Shervani pocket.

"Losers" Arjun said glaring at Romit and Sanchit shaking his head.

He took out 5 thousand and handed over to Rashi to which Rashi responded by jumping.

"Bhabhi can enter now." Rashi said smiling.

At this word Arohi glanced at Arohi and then at Kumud. Oh God now I am her Bhabhi! How fast she accepted our relation. Arohi thought to herself.

Arohi pushed the Kalash with her right hand and entered the house. Then she was asked to dip her hands in the plate with kumkum mixed with water and she put her hands on the walls making her permanent print in the house.

Then Arjun and Arohi together took the blessings of all elderly people including Amrit's photo. Everyone was tired but the ring ceremony was left but RP decided that the ring ritual will be don the next day along with "Mooh dikhayi" in Shefali's language "Face showing" ritual.

Now was the time that was the most uneasy part of the marriage. Rashi has already taken Arohi's suitcase to Arjun's room. As their gang bid good bye to all Arohi's heart started beating fast. Now she has to spend the entire night no probably the entire life with Arjun. This was the first step and she was scared.

As Rashi took her to Arjun's room she found that room very different. It was decorated beautifully. They didn't get much time to decorate but whatever they did was remarkably beautiful. Arohi hugged Rashi and in turn Rashi patted her.

"You know what Arohi you can kill me for this but I always wanted you to be my Bhabhi." Rashi said pulling away from Arohi.

Arohi saw a tear glittering in her eyes which she quickly wiped off. Arohi could tell she was happy. They all were happy except………

Arohi heard a knock on the door and she was sure it is Arjun.

Her heart skipped a beat. Since when did Mr. Fight start showing manners? Arohi thought to herself.

As Rashi made her way to the door she quickly kissed Arohi on the head whispered "All the Best" in her ears and softly said "Time for more shagun."

Arohi couldn't help but smile at how childish Rashi can behave at times. She was sure Arjun will get so much annoyed that she was scared he might give a smack as Shagun but instead she heard something weird.

"Your car? You are giving me your car? Bhai are you alright? Love you Bhai." And she heard Rashi's jumping footsteps fading away.

Arohi was schocked to here that Arjun gave Rashi his newly brought car. He brought it on his birthday and now he gave it to her. Arohi was still in the shock when Arjun walked inside the room.

Arohi looked at him and her eyes dropped to floor.

"Shall I leave the room open or is it okay if I lock it." Arjun asked hesitatingly.

Wow what was it? Arohi was flabbergasted by the way Arjun was behaving with her. Marriage had so much effect on him. If this continues to be like this she might actually stay married to him the whole life. The moment this thought passed her mind she bit her lower lip in embarrassment.

"I don't think we are allowed to leave it open" said Arohi softly.

Arjun couldn't believe after all this melodrama they were having a civilized conversation. He was expecting Arohi to launch herself onto him and rip his body into pieces but she was behaving like a real wife.

As Arjun locked the door Arohi bend down to take out her night gown from the suitcase. As she bend down her top of the lehenga lifted a little up exposing her bare skin. The same time Arjun has turned to ask her something when he saw her bare skin. It looks so soft he thought to himself and then quickly shoved away the thought. He saw Arohi struggling with the suitcase. She couldn't able to open it. He bent down and opened it for her. Arohi looked at him stunned but didn't comment. She was too tired to pull any string now. She didn't want any noise. As he opened the suitcase for her she took out her night gown and headed to his bathroom. She returned quickly changing and saw Arjun already in his trousers and t-shirt.

"Do you want milk?" Arohi asked Arjun nervously.

"Huh!" was the only word Arjun could say.

"If you don't want can I have it? Ii am feeling very sleepy and brides are not allowed to eat anything so I am very hungry." Arohi said pouting.

Arjun glared at her. His wife has definitely gone crazy he was sure but to such an extend he doesn't know.

"Have it. I thought you know I don't like milk." Arjun said teasingly.

"Of course I know A—." and she stopped.

What's that! Arjun thought to himself.

She quickly moved to the table got hold of the milk glass and within few seconds she was done with it.

"Happy" asked Arjun smiling wide

Arohi nodded and smiled softly.

"I need to talk to you." Arjun now was sitting on his bed serious.

Arohi sat on the couch in front of his bed.

"I know we are too much tired but this needed to be sorted out. Do you think we will be able to go on with this marriage?" Arjun asked in low voice not certain how she will react to it.

"You should have asked me this before getting married Mr. Arjun Singhania" snapped Arohi now her face expression changing with the frequency of her anger.

Well there she is. "If you were expecting me to ask anything about before the marriage Mrs. Arohi Arjun Singhania "Arohi flinched at this name of hers "then you should have taken the first step. I don't think you are the type of girl who can't take their own decisions." Arjun said raising his voice a little.

"You were waiting for me? Wow Arjun that is so convincing."

"Let us sleep now we will discuss tomorrow I am too tired." Arjun said yawning.

"So when it comes to you then you take a back step very well." Arohi said accusing Arjun.

"No I don't. Now listen to me I was asking you just for the reason that if you don't want this marriage then we will not register our marriage because I know then the divorce is problematic and if you think there are any chances of us being together then we will go forward with it." Arjun said trying to explain his point.

"Why did you marry me?" Arohi suddenly asked the question which made Arjun frown at her. This was the question he was avoiding and he has to answer the same think he didn't want to.

"Seriously answer me why did you took trouble to marry me? We are married just a few hours back and here you are speaking about the divorce than what was the point in getting married?" Arohi was almost in tears now.

Arjun was stunned at Arohi's behavior. She got through the worst part in these hours of her life. There she was not complaining anything. Dare she spoke one word and now she is crying because he talked about divorcing her the night of their marriage? You are and idiot Arjun! He scolded himself and moved to the couch near Arohi.

"Rohi listen I didn't mean it I mean look okay fine I am not talking about any divorce nor will we break this marriage in life time. We might murder each other during this life span or any time sooner it depends on how well we know each other but we are not getting divorce happy?" Arjun said wiping Arohi's tears.

Arohi couldn't speak anything he said Rohi to her. He used to call her Rohi while either he was placating her or was very angry with her. She felt like home. She quickly controlled herself.

"Are we going to hospital tomorrow?" Arohi asked pulling herself back.

"No we are joining from day after tomorrow and if you haven't we are having duties together." Arjun said now almost laughing

Arohi cringed at this she was the one who made sure their duties were together after her marriage and there she is again putting herself in trouble having duties with Arjun.

She smiled feebly.

"So shall we go to bad now?" Arjun said casually looking at Arohi.

"Are we sleeping together?" Arohi asked nervously raising her eyebrows.

Arjun didn't understand at first what she meant but as soon as she saw expression on her face he couldn't control his laughter.

"Arohi Ahluwalia I mean Singhania is scared of sleeping with her own husband."

Arohi was so embarrassed that she took the cushions on the couch and started throwing at Arjun to which Arjun replied by a throwing pillow on her and she burst into laughter.

They both laughed after so many days Arjun saw Arohi laughing out loudly.

"Come on Arohi let us go to bed." He said still laughing.

"Which side is mine?" Arohi asked which made Arjun stop laughing.

"What are you serious we on the same bed?" Arjun asked confused.

"Why now Dr. Arjun Singhania is scared of his wife?" Arohi said giggling.

"Certainly not dear wifey but I am not sharing my bed." Arjun was determined.

"Oh my dear hubby it is not yours anymore it is ours." Arohi said confidently.

"Well then I guess I'll be the one who will murder you." He said going to the left side of the bed.

"We will see who dies first. I might strangle you tonight itself" Arohi said with a smirk on her face.

"Well we will see." Arjun got into the bed and switched off the light of his side.

Arohi quickly climbed onto the other side and made herself comfortable in the bed. She was thinking how would have been this night otherwise and how it is now. With the thoughts revolving in her mind she didn't realize when she started crying and for a moment her sob went beyond control and made a large sound which made Arjun turn to look at her. He placed his hand on Arohi's shoulder and asked

"Are you okay Rohi?"

Arohi couldn't control anymore she turned to Arjun and hugged him. This was the second time in 2 days she was letting herself open with her enemy. Arjun placed his hand over her back and patted her.

After a while he stocked her hair making her feel comfortable with each tear that jumped out of her eyes.

"Thank you." Arohi said softly to which Arjun replied with

"Hmmm"

They both didn't know when they both were asleep with Arohi resting herself on Arjun's chest.

The morning came with a surprise for both of them as they found each other sleeping in one another's embrace. As they looked back at the previous day's events they relaxed themselves and pulled away from one another.

"I am going to the bathroom first." Said Arjun

"No I am going." Arohi was back to herself cutting Arjun whatever he wanted to do.

"You will take long." Arjun was complaining.

"So? I am the new daughter in law of this house remember? I am expected at breakfast table before everyone. Before that I have to do Pooja too." Arohi said trying to explain Arjun the importance of her position.

"You should have got up first then." Arjun was annoyed.

"I was tired yesterday you know that." Before Arjun could speak anything she took her clothes and ran to the bathroom.

When she came back she could see Arjun nowhere. She was dressed in a pink slightly transparent sari which was perfectly rested on her perfectly curved body. She applied kajal to her eyes which made her eyes distinct. She applied a light make up and a little pink shade to her checks making herself blush. She let her hair loose first but then she remembered that Pooja can't be done with loose hair so she tied them loosely in a bun making the curls dangle on her back.

As she was about to leave her room she bumped into Arjun who was staring at her with wide eyes and an open mouth.

Arohi blushed a little put her hand up to close Arjun's open mouth giggled a little and left the room.

The whole morning went with some other rituals only meant for Arohi. Arjun was glad he was not part of anymore rituals because he was already preparing himself for the only ritual left for him that is the ring one.

In the evening when they started with the ring ritual Arjun was surprised to see everyone supporting Arohi and he was alone. He was preparing all day for this win and here she gets all the support. Everyone was teasing Arjun and Arjun was making different faces at everyone. Arohi enjoyed a lot because she kenw everyone was happy. Finally Rashi put the ring in a big bowl full of milk.

"Go bhabi go" said Rashi

"Come on Arohi" everyone was cheering Arohi.

Arjun was trying his best to search for the ring but Arohi was quick enough. When she got the ring she had a glow on her face Arjun glanced at her and that very moment he came to know that she has won. He was very disappointed. He doesn't like to lose that to with Arohi no! But since they were 9 he always lost but.. ..He was thinking the same thing and decided to pull his hand back when a soft hand touched him giving him the ring. He looked at Arohi. Arohi quietly winked at him and squeezed his hand giving him the ring. The same instant Arjun's face lit up with excitement.

"I won" He said taking out the ring. Everyone started laughing looking at Arjun who looked like a kid.

Arohi quickly changed her expression to little disappointed one but then the next thing what Arjun did made everyone praise him.

He lifted Arohi's hand and slipped the diamond ring in her hand.

He softly whispered in Arohi's ears where he said.

"I know you like diamonds" to which Arohi just saw him in delight with a shine in her eyes.

"Thank you" he said softly and turned to look at others who were busy in awes and wows as Arjun put the ring in Arohi's finger.

Arohi felt content. She looked at the beautiful ring in her hand and smiled to herself.

The next day Arohi got up early and before Arjun was ready she served the breakfast. She wore a light blue sari and was ready with a light make up as she has to go to the hospital. When Arjun came down she was already waving goodbyes to all to go to the hospital when Arjun stopped her and advised her that they will go to the hospital together.

At the hospital they were wished by all the staff and given a congratulations gift for newly wedded couple. They didn't see each other much in the morning as Arohi was busy with her patients and two days pending surgeries. Arjun was attending the new patients as he was in new.

As Arohi was walking to the canteen in the afternoon she heard someone tap her from behind. Arohi turned to look behind as was surprised to see Pratha.

"Bhabi what did go wrong with you and Parth bhai?" Pratha asked her in a disappointed tone

"Didn't your brother tell you?" asked Arohi.

"No bhabi bhai was very much upset." Pratha said with a sad face.

"Pratha please get it clear I am not your bhabi anymore unless you consider Arjun as your brother." Arohi said firmly.

"Arjun" Pratha was confused and then she saw Arohi's mangalsutra dangling her neck and her mang with sindoor.

The same time Arjun saw Arohi and Pratha having conversation together.

"You got married?" Partha was shocked.

"So bhai was right. You cheated on my brother for your now husband. That is why you were delaying the marriage. You even refused for the engagement till Arjun returns. So this was it. I thought you will be shattered because your marriage broke but here you are happily married to someone else making my brother suffer." Pratha was almost in tears thankfully there was only two canteen staff present in the canteen with both of them. As Arjun came nearer to Arohi and Pratha he could here Pratha's accusitions.

"I tell you Arohi you are such a b***h" Pratha raised her voice and Arohi's eyes had tears dwelling the edge.

"Excuse me miss" Arohi heard a voice which she unmistakably recognized of Arjun who stood next to her.

"I heard you calling something bad to my wife that should not be said in side hospital walls." Arjun said calmly slipping his hand to Arohi's waist touching her bare skin.

At the touch of it Arohi sighed but her voice was chocked as she was full of tears and lump in a throat.

"Oh my, the great husband of great cheater is here to defend his wife." Pratha was fuming.

"Listen Miss I will not tolerate any more insult of my wife. She did not marry me I married her. As far as you brother is concerned she didn't cheat on her. She was all ready to marry your brother after what happened at…" and Arjun stopped as Arohi squeezed his hand on her waist.

"She was all ready to marry Parth but what he felt was there is something between us too and he is very well correct. Arohi was innocent it was me who was after her." said Arjun not even winking his lashes.

Arohi stared at him in shock. What was he doing? Why is he taking blame?

"When he left her she was quite that time I came forward to marry her and because of our family she said yes." Arjun was fuming now and Arohi wanted to control him but she didn't know what to say.

"She was not the one who cheated, she didn't love me it was me who loved her. I love Arohi do you get that miss?" As these words came out of Arjun's mouth Arohi's tear escaped from the cage of her eyes. She couldn't believe what he has said. That was a big thing to say. How she wished it can ever be true bit she knew that it is not.

"So now miss go to your brother and tell him I love my wife more than anything in this world and if anyone tries to bother my wife I'll not leave them. Off you go and if you want to resign you are welcome. Do not do anything that will force me to fire you." With this he turned his face to Arohi wiped her only tear on her checks and kissed her on forehead. Arohi was astonished by his behavior.

This site was unbearable to Pratha within the next second she was out of the canteen stomping her foot.

"Arohi she is gone. Come on back to work." Arohi came out of the dream as Arjun spoke softly to her.

"Arjun" she began

"Arohi concentrate on my words alright. I just said them so that Parth must know that we are happy together. I am sorry if I have hurt you." Arjun said pulling away from Arohi.

"It's okay Arjun Thank you." Arohi said softly and she walked out of the canteen smiling weekly at him. Arjun's manners were driving her crazy. Very little did she know about her enemy. I HATE YOU ARJUN BUT I…………….. Arohi thought while she walked to her cabin.

luved the way arjun handled everything in a matured manner (haha except the ring ceremony - that was tooo kiddish of him - but enjoyed reading it)

when they were friends, aru had always allowed him to be the winner/topper - no exceptions in the ring game tooo indicating very clearly that he was no longer her enemy
