#chapter 4

As soon as she came out of the ICU she pondered about the events occurred in this hour. Whatever sparks flew in between her and Arjun were definitely making her feel stupid. She ran away from him 2 years back so that he will not interfere in her life again and here he is holding her hand and thanking her making her think why the hell she hate such a lovely person… Hang on! Lovely? From where does this idea of Dr. Arjun Singhania being lovely dropped in my head. She thought, lack of sleep had definitely proven to be adverse for her otherwise she wouldn't sound so dreamy. But even if she is dreamy not in any dreams of her Arjun could be lovely but how the hell she thought it. Her brain was tearing apart but before she make sure that her brain gets out of fiend Arjun she need to mend the damage caused by the stupid act of both of them. RP Dad of hers has seen both of them hand in hand and she was not giving him any chance to form false illusions in his mind. The pieces must be put to place. Leaving her dilemma about Arjun aside she decided to clear the facts with RP first She was nervous as to what she was going to say but confident enough that her Dad was much her friend than uncle(father).

Knock Knock

"May I come in?" Arohi slowly pushed the door for permission.

"Come in." RP said smoothly. His voice made Arohi realized that she is now doing something evil. She is going to kill the excitement her beloved Dad has any moment.

"Can you be my Dad and not Dr. Singhania for a while Dr.?" Arohi asked with a little worried expression which she didn't want to hide.

"Yes sure Arohi." RP said in the same excitement still not giving attention to Arohi's expression.

"Dad Me and Parth are getting engaged day after on Arjun's birthday." Arohi said worried.

All of a sudden RP's ecstatic face dropped down like he is been hit in the gut. All this while he knew that Parth has proposed Arohi because Arohi's nature was to never hide anything from her parents(except whatever happens between her and Arjun as she feels it is purely personal) and she was open enough to share about Parth's proposal. Parth was a settled man and good looking too but somehow RP felt that Arohi was rushing into the relationship. He never commented on the fact that personally he didn't like Parth much as same as Ashutosh but Arohi seemed comfortable with him. Though he knew that she isn't intense about him that left some hope for his dream for Arjun and Arohi. Though he knew his son was as much of a nutcase as Arohi is but he felt they somehow complete each other. No one knew what makes them say so but everyone in the house wanted them together except them. They fight but they were the ones who somehow stood by each other every time the trouble rises. RP had his hopes high when Arohi told him that though Parth proposed she isn't going to do proper engagement until Arjun comes back as she wanted her entire family for that occasion and in this case Arjun was not an exception. She even refused to wear the ring before proper engagement. But now it was clear that Arohi was in no mood to give a thought to Arjun. She didn't hate him but there was indeed something that was making her avoid Arjun and RP didn't know that. He thought asking to Rashi a lot of times but then he left the thought as it will be a pure interference.

Arohi saw her Dad drop down to despair. That was the worst feeling she really wanted to make her Dad happy but this was one thing she couldn't do. She hated Arjun and could have married him to make his life hell but she could never see her RP Dad and Kumud mom in pain if she troubled Arjun it will be lifetime trouble for his parents she knew it very well so before they drown into lifetime misery she wanted to spare them. She loved them a lot and her hate for Arjun was not bigger than her love for his parents.

"Dad are you alright?" Arohi said gaining strength.

"Yes Arohi. Have you told your papa?" RP spoke with all the energy he has. He can't make her daughter suffer for his dream.

"I was supposed to tell you today but Arjun's accident was a sudden shock I was waiting for tomorrow morning but after what you saw in the ICU I thought things needs to be cleared." Arohi said calmly this time she was not hesitant.

"Okay then well what about the arrangements?" RP asked making his face straight and trying to paste a cheerful smile.

"Rashi Dad! She knew about it and as it is we are having a party on Arjun's birthday and we will be having the engagement in the same party so I guess that won't be a trouble." Arohi said smiling a little.

"Then I guess we are okay with everything shall we discuss the case now." RP said pulling himself back to professional mood.

"Yes Dr. RP." Arohi said with a serious face as she rewind the case in her mind that she needed to discuss with RP.

The whole night she didn't dare to go inside the ICU. She kept check on Arjun through the TV in her room. In the morning she seemed very tired. She had to go to Arjun for checkup, she prepared herself and as she headed to ICU her stomach was flipping with each step. When she opened the door she found Arjun sound asleep.

"He looks so cute in sleep." Arohi almost said her thought loud that made Arjun shift to one side. Controlling her thoughts she quickly ran to Arjun's side checked his pulse rate and did whatever checking she wanted to do. Leaving prescriptions this time lighter one she left the ICU. As she walked out she saw Rashi walking to her.

"Rashi I guess he is ready for his birthday surprises" Arohi said cheerfully.

Rashi smiled softly giving her a hi-fi an quickly looking around so that no one saw them act like kids and went inside the ICU.

Her duty was over and she was going back home while on way she was thinking as to how to face her papa. She was not worried about mom but she knew her father would be as disappointed as her Dad, she met path a year before. He is a software engineer and his sister is a doctor. Her sister is an intern in SAHARA and he always comes to drop and pick her. Pratha his sister became a great friend of Arohi and in turn Parth too became friends with Arohi until 3 month ago when he proposed Arohi and Arohi said yes. She still didn't know why she said yes. There was no reason for yes but there was no reason to say no to so yes was better. She wanted to get married quickly as she wanted to go away from Arjun. This time may be permanently. As she pulled her car in driveway her heart started beating fast. She needed a quick shower before she faces her father.

As she walked to her room she heard her Papa calling her. Sheepishly she walked to her father not meeting his gaze.

"Congratulations beta" she heard her father say. He almost chocked. That was more than just a surprise. Her father congratulated her on crushing his dream. Wow! Life is incredible!

"Thanks papa." She too had a lump in her throat.

"So you and Parth decided to move ahead?" Ashutosh asked controlling his emotions.

"Yes papa"

"Good, but I wish you could have told me before I am your father after all" Ashutosh said in a gloomy tone.

"I am sorry papa I was about to tell everyone yesterday but Arjun's accident trapped us all. Papa I need to take permission about the wedding though I was thinking of getting married on my birthday that is on Ma's………" and Arohi stopped, horror on her face. She was too quick to deliver this news.

"That is good but isn't it too early?" Ashutosh asked trying to be interested. He didn't wanted to spoil Arohi's mood, Arohi was flabbergasted by the way her father's behavior has changed towards her after Arjun's accident.

"No it is okay Dad I don't want a big wedding but Rashi and Parth are both onto a grand wedding and they both said they will pull everything together and I trust them." Arohi said smiling a little.

"Then it is all set then if Parth wants it we can't do anything. I and your mom and Dad will discuss with Parth's parents and we will sort out everything." Ashutosh patting on Arohi's head.

Arohi felt blessed "Thanks once again papa" she said smiling she quickly hugged her father and left for her room. She never expected this to be so easy. She would be happy with Parth that is what she felt.

On the other side Arjun was all unaware of the party and Arohi's engagement plan. He was back home in the evening and his whole family including Arohi surprised him with a small cake cutting at 12 in the night. She saw everyone was happy and yes Arohi was also smiling and she was genuine. Nothing was fake that moment. He felt blessed and he loved to be back home.

The next day he was visited by their friends Shefali, Romit, Snachit, Simmi, they all were having a good time and suddenly Arjun heard something that made him skip his beat.

"Wow double treat Arjun's birthday and Arohi's eng…." Romit tongue slipped..

"Shhh" all said at once but it was too late.

"What? What Arohi's eng? What?" Arjun asked all confused.

"Dumb Romit" Shefali said furious.

"It was another surprise for you Arjun. But now that idiot has vomited out and I know you have guessed it Arohi is getting engaged to Parth. Sorry Arohi and Rashi." Shefali said making a face to Romit.

Arjun couldn't take it. What the hell his enemy was taking the biggest decision of her life without even telling me forget about asking hell she can't do this and Arjun was on his feet and all stared blankly at him. He dashed out of his room straight to Arohi's.

She stepped inside her room and walked straight to the corner of the room where a small cupboard was waiting for her. once in a year she visit that cupboard and the moment she shuts its door it its wait begins once again. As she opened the door she took out all the gifts from the cupboard. They were 16 and she took another from her purse along those gifts.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARJUN"

as she said these words that is when she heard her bedroom door flung open.

"Thank you" Arjun said loudly

Arohi startled at his voice almost disturbing the order of the gifts. She was damn scared now as she saw Arjun standing that furious. What made him fume like this. She was thinking if she played any prank but she was sure she has not as it was his birthday and she would never do such things not at least on his birthday.

"What happened Arjun?" She asked trying to hide her scared expression.

In the meantime Arjun counted all the gifts lying on the floor and as he counted his expressions were changing quickly from rage to gratitude to affection to again rage. The cycle continued.

"So you are hiding my gifts?" Arjun said coming forward and not forgetting to close the door behind him and locking it.

What was that why did he latched the door. Arohi was very scared now she never saw Arjun like this before.

"These are not your gifts they are mine." Arohi said trying to be determined.

"Hell those are mine and you are not going to take them away from me. Not after all these years that I have found them." Arjun was fuming and Arohi couldn't interpret why he was angry but somehow she felt that those words were not for gifts but for her. For a split second she thought that he is wanted her but she shoved out that thought as that was not at all a possibility.

"Congratulations Dr. Arohi Ahluwalia I heard you are getting engaged." As she spoke those words Arohi realized that there was no more surprise and he was angry because he was kept in dark.

"Oh yes! Thank you. I guess that will be a nice gift for you from my side as I'll be going out of your life forever no more trouble for Dr. Arjun Singhania from hot head." Arohi shot sarcastically.

"Huh!" Arjun couldn't say anything. There was just one thing in his mind. She is not going anywhere. Not without me.

"Oh and by the way my wedding is in 14 days. On my birthday" Arohi said cheerfully.

Enough! Arjun though he has had a lot he couldn't take it anymore.

He walked to Arohi grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him so close that there was no distance between them. Their eyes trying to hunt for all the answers and suddenly Arohi felt something moist on her lips making them heavy for a while. His lips were on hers. She didn't know how to react. What was it? She expected herself to be uncomfortable and ready to push him back instead she was all into the passionate feeling they were sharing right now. His lips were slowly tracing down each cell of her lips making her go crazy. He pulled her even closer when he realized that she was not pushing him but instead was participating. He knew that they hated each but there was one thing common in them that they were intense for each other maybe it is hate or……………

As he brought her closer with a tight grip on her waist she gasped but was not ready to let him go. He pressed his lips harder this time trying to convince her not to marry anyone and she understood it. She didn't know the reason behind she wanted to get wet in the passionate feelings he was sharing with her right now. They didn't know for how long they were in that position when Arjun suddenly pulled away from her and said those words so loudly that echoed all over her room.

"You are not going to marry! Never! Dam it I hate you But……….." he paused looked at dazed Arohi and left the room.

Arohi had no clue what had happened her legs gave out and she fell onto the floor with a thud.
