PART 36

'Arjun wait..!' Sanchit came panting and stood in front of him, blocking his way. 'Sanchit! I am very angry right now, now is not the time.' 'Arjun I'm here to talk about Arohi. I had gone to meet her yesterday.' Arjun looked up finally, not angry but determined. Determined to meet Arohi. To find out what went wrong. And finally to get her out. 'She is miserable. But we all are here with you Arjun. We all want her out too.' Arjun looked around him. He could see all supportive faces. Romit, Shefali, Simmi, Purvi, Sanchit and finally someone came and hugged him, Salil. And Arjun finally broke down in his hug. 'Salil how did this all happen? You were here, please tell me how did she end up in jail? I will never forgive that person who's done this to her.' 'Calm down Arjun. Arohi needs you during this time. Not your anger. Your love. Your support.' Arjun steadied himself. 'I'm fine now. I want to meet her.'

I kept glancing at outside my cell. Waiting to see a tall silhouette in front. Waiting to see my Arjun. But the pieces of yesterday's dream still lingered in my mind. Would he still support me through this? And I would give up any hopes of seeing him near my cell. 'Arohi.' I turned instantly. How would I not recognize that voice. The voice to which I would wake up to, the voice without which I could never sleep. The voice without which I had spent days apart. Arjun! Tears streamed down my face instantly. 'Arohi no. No crying now. I'm here, and I promise to get you out of this mess.' I nodded at him smiling. 'I haven't done anything wrong Arjun. I don't know what happened. I swear I..' he cut me with a smile on his face. 'I know my baby, you needn't give me any explanations. I will find out who's done this to you. But till then I want you to remain strong. Will you do that for me..?' I went near the bars and held his hands through it. 'I promise Arjun.' He smiled at me. He caressed my cheek with his other hand. 'Meeting time over, you may leave Mr. Singhania'. That policeman jerked us back to reality. Arjun sighed. 'Don't worry Arohi, I will get you out of here soon.' He kissed my hand and left. I turned back toward my cell and it was lit up by sun rays . I looked at them wondering if it was a sign.

'Gauri, please come to my cabin.' 'What is it Arjun?' 'I heard you were helping Arohi in this project?' 'Yes, very little, you know how she is, she always wants to do things on her own. She wouldn't let me interfere in the project much.' Arjun digested the fact though he didn't quite agree that his Arohi wouldn't let anyone interfere in her project. 'So do you know where she kept all the files of the project?' 'Not really, like I said she wouldn't let me interfere much.' Arjun could definitely feel something fishy. 'Gauri, you know I have handled much rougher situations than this. So I am definitely going to get to the bottom of this sooner or later. It'll better for you if you co-operate with me right now or else you'll be behind bars to for shielding the guilty.' Gauri looked at him surprised at walked out of his cabin. Arjun knew one thing for clear Gauri was definitely hiding something.

Arjun looked through all the drawers, where Arohi usually kept all her files. He found one client file about the project. He went through it. The basic details of the same were in there. Location of the project, owner name, contractor hired. Arjun decided to get in touch with the contractor. 'Hello Mr. Kumar? I'm Arjun Singhania here.' 'Hello sir, I was wondering when I'd get to talk to you.'

Arjun met Mr. Kumar at a coffee shop where Mr. Kumar gave him the project file that he had. The detailed plans, the estimate, the tender, the contract. Everything. Arjun told him he'd need to take that file with him and hoped he'd co-operate. Mr. Kumar agreed. 'Sir, I would like to show you something before you leave. I don't know if it is in both the original copies but it is in mine definitely. He held out the contract page wherein there were some last minute item additions. There he saw Arohi's signature but below that signature were some more items that were added which seemed wrong where the project was considered. 'But Mr. Kumar this is not…' 'Right? I thought so too. But they were madam's orders. You see the signature. I had to carry on with the work.' Arjun thanked mr. Kumar for help and left the caf.

What was wrong then? Last minute additions only on the contractor's file? Where is Arohi's original file then? Who had access to her cabin? Lost in his thoughts he did not see a car speeding up towards him. But he noticed at the right time. And the car missed him by mere millimeters. 'What the heck? that means I know one thing, I am very close to getting my Arohi out of there.' And he smiled to himself.

'What are you smiling at dumbhead. That car would've killed you. Do you want to get Arohi out of the jail or not? Are you even listening?' Salil was frantically moving Arjun. 'Salil, that car speeding up trying to kill me makes only one thing clear, that I'm close to getting my Arohi out. Don't you get it?' and Arjun started smiling to himself. 'My dear friend the point is who's car was it who was trying to do that?' Arjun looked at him confused. 'Good question my friend, who could it have been?'
