...Mujhe De Do Gham, Jaaneman...
...Khwabon ki is ghar ki, khair kare oh rabba,
Door talai kalaish aur bair kare oh rabba.
Naazon se badi maine, kari hai taiyaariyan,
Din raat pyaar diya, nazaran utaariyan
Yeh mohabbat, hai ibaadat. Kabhi ho na kam...
Jaaneman, Jaaneman....
Lets start with yesterday:
First of all, I was disgusted with Veera for talking to an elder the way she did. My jaw literally dropped. How can she be so disrespectful? Someone needs to slap this girl. She should be ashamed of herself.
The shot of Prem entering the mandir was so sweet...white kurta.....I'm "gushing" (estee's word) already. 🥰
Ah, the pushing everyone else aside, I see it now, Estee...Regal indeed!
Loved Heer's slight, you'd miss it if you blink, nod when asked about the wedding invitation. The panditji asks Heer to place the shaadi ka card at God's feet. She turns and looks at Prem to see his eyes fixed on Bauji before he shifts his gaze in her direction. Without a second thought, she (yes Estee, gracefully) kneels down and places the card at Ullu's feet...kyounki Prem ne unhi ko bhagwaan ka darja diya hai. Prem ke bhagwaan toh woh hi hai. LOVED Heer for this...I'm soaring at the sight of her courage of late.
The look on Prems face is worth a million as he sees what Heer is doing. He has this look of utter pride on his face...and of course, the undying love he has for Heer is radiating throughout his being...Just LOVED it. Did he have a slight hint of tears in his eyes? I know I did.
Never thought I'd say it, but I was touched by Ullu's intent to give Heer aashirwaad yesterday. Whatever his reason, just the fact that he was actually going to place his hand on her head, (and would have, if it hadn't been for that stupid DJ) made me so happy. The way I saw it, his hand raised on its own, almost involuntarily...I know that he had to be somehow moved by Heer's gesture. I thought for sure he would object, step away, something. But no...he was actually going to give her his blessing....indeed...the winds have changed their direction...even if just a little.
What made me upset though, was that with that gesture of his, he actually gave Premeer a bit of hope...hope that was crushed in the very next moment. You could see it on Premeer's faces when he raised his hand...they both silently had already thanked their stars at the sight of Ullu's actions, they thought that if nothing else, with Ullu's ashirwaad, they could move forward, be with one another, and then, together, win his forgiveness. It was so very disheartening to see this hope crushed just as quickly as it came. The hurt in Premeer's eyes was too much.
I was upset that Gayatri didn't step in and give Premeer her aashirwaad since Ullu didn't.
Vaise I loved the bhajan in the background through the whole sequence...🥰
LOVED the darts Prem/Preet's eyes shot in DJ's direction with her ghatiya act. That was a glimpse of The Prem indeed....
Again, It upset me that Gayatri didn't go console Premeer....I hate it how every time Ullu walks away from Premeer, everyone else just follows his lead without a second thought. I really did expect Gayatri to place her and on Premeer's cheeks and tell them they have her blessing...but no...she just looks at them and cries her "i'm sorry" tears...that upset me. I also expected Preet to put a comforting hand on Prem's shoulder before he left...I guess I shouldn't expect things...

LOVED watching the two stand alone and pray. It was so beautiful...the purity of their love, their relationship, their very beings shone through in that scene. When Prem initially turned and folded his hands, it looked as if he were saying to God "please mujhe yeh sab sehne ke liye shakti dena". There was something so beautiful about seeing him stand there and pray...and those hands...uff...I just love them...when his hands are on the screen, I forget to look at his face...
Heer's vachan was endearing...but I hate her route for going about it.
Love the scene between Heer/Meher....
...I salute the depth of her love, and her wanting to give him the world's hapiness, but I just don't understand why she doesn't see that he can never be happy without her. I think it was Sid who reminded us yesterday that Prem said before his wedding ke Heer ke bina woh ek zinda laash ban kar jiyega. How can she expect that by walking out of his life, even if he does manage to regain ties with his father, that he can and will ever be happy? Premeer are one. They are two halfs of a whole. Incomplete without their counterpart. Heer resides within him...in his heart, his soul. Yeh alag baat hai ke Prem would never let Heer leave him, but even if she were to leave him, he would find his way to her...bring her back.
Love how she says "voh kahi kho gaya hai"....she too sees that he's not the same Prem he used to be. How well they know one another....Prem never, even for a moment, disclosed his guilt for leaving his bauji to her, but she understands him. She understands what he's going through. Prem said last week ki Heer uske saath ho kar bhi khush nahi hai...uske saath hai phir bhi Heer ki aankhon mein aansoon hai....today, Heer is repeating the same...."woh khush nahi hai"....I'm floored by their love...its incredible to me how far these two will go for the other's happiness....
I am loving seeing Heer finally open up...loving this courageous side of her that we've been longing to see for so long. I just wish she'd fight for Prem...instead of giving him up. Prem seems to think that he can have his cake and eat it too...he's working towards that (as we saw in the end of last week)...I just wish Heer would do the same. I wish she would be as determined to not give Prem up as Prem is to not give her up.
The train scene with the babaji was weird....(the seating arrangement in the train was so off...why the hell was Ullu's "new pet" as Estee put it, sitting next to him?!?!)...but, I like the ray of hope he's given us viewers...I now think (like many of you) that Nihaal's mom will pass away and Heer/Meher/Nihaals sachai will come out. *fingers crossed*
Gajra Scene:
I know everyone has already disected it from inside out, but, I must add my two cents...
Is it just me or did it seem as though he wasn't even listening to the gajra girl until she said that it would look nice in heer's hair. It was at first as if he was like 'what will I do with gajra" but then, at the thought of gajra for Heer's hair, it clicked...duh! 😆 Too cute that Heer's eyes shied away when he looked at her.
He buys the gajra, and then dumps it in Heer's hands as if saying "here, I have no clue what to do with this." hehe...men. Too cute. Was that a ghost of a smile as he placed the gajra in Heer's hands or was it just my imagination? 🥰 Haaiii...and again, his hands as he turns to help her with the gajra...when I first saw the scene, my eyes watched only his hands. Those beautiful, strong but gentle hands. It took me a few viewings and (a mental attempt to see beyond his hands) to catch that shy smile playing on Heer's lips throught the whole thing. So So Cute! These two say so much without saying a word...it was too sweet for words. (And yes Estee, I did see the regal way he sits...I made it a point to after you mentioned it.)
I thought the shock on Heer's face upon seeing Meher was unnecessary...as if she'd been caught or something. Cute though. Prem's smile just before he turned to look back out the window however, was too cute. He was so satisfied with himself then...did you guys notice that too? 🥰
Loved the moment the sister's shared in the train....
Today brought me out of a slum.....
First I will complain about the recap. I think they should have shown DJ's evil stunt from yesterday, I think they should have shown Heer/Meher talking, and, I think they should have shown Prem helping Heer with Gajra scene.
The first scene in the train isn't worth accolades or anything, but I loved the Flashbacks.
Ullu remembering the good moments him and Prem shared...is he indeed softening? Or is he wallowing in self pity at the thought of what Prem was and what he is now? (though, the fault is Ullu's for misunderstanding him).
Gayatri thinking about Prem's pain...loved the flashback of the "aap meri maa hai" scene...I just loved that epi...Gayatri is definitely hurting because she can't do anything to help Prem, to ease his pain.
While Ullu was reliving the pleasant moments him and Prem have shared, Prem was deepening his wounds by reliving the painful moments...hmmmmm.....
But, they both remembered the hug they shared when Ullu said he was proud to call Prem his son....hmm...telepathy? Kudos to the creative team for this one.....
Nihaal's mom seems to know Heer...I look forward to the revelation.
Ah...WHITE....so PURE...so CHASTE...
I loved Premeers determination ki unki mannat puri hogi...when Heer was telling Prem she didn't get the chadar, again, there was a glint of pride for Heer, her actions, in his smile. It was as if by recieving an elder's blessings, they'd recieved their blessing from God without even having asked for it yet. They were so satisfied...Prem and Heer's "main-bhagwan-nahi-hoon" attitude is rubbing off on one another and making it that much more prominent in them both. I think the reassurance ki unki mannat puri hogi was a foretelling that whatever happens with the storm will definitely help Premeer's case.
The Khwaja Mere Khwaja song was too much of a direct take from JA...I felt for a moment as though all the sudden, I was watching the movie and would soon see Akbar stand and go join the procession...
As Preet was walking, he noticed Ash following him. Is he just playing with her emotions for his own benefit? I really can't tell, though I don't think he actually loves her. But then, when she says tum kisi aur se shaadi mat karna, he says theek hai....wonder if in the end these two will end up together...though I would love to see a Preet-Meher angle...
I was so very touched by Premeer's prayers. Heer, praying for Prem's hapiness, and Prem praying that Heer's prayers are answered. Prem seems to know that Heer's every dua is for him alone...He seems to know that she's praying that he be reuinted with his family. No doubt, he wants the same, but he wants it for her as much as, if not more than, for himself. Not only does he know that his tears cause her pain, but He wants her to feel accepted, he wants to grant her the rights she deserves by his family. He wants to grant her the family that she doesn't have. He wants his parents to always bless her as they've blessed him. Her every prayer is for him, and his every prayer is for her. They're just such a beautiful pair...
Theres something about seeing him pray that makes my heart soar....🥰
The Ullu dupatta scene confused me the first time around. He says he's taking the mannat ki chaddar with him and leaving his broken promises at God's feet instead. The Chaddar will remind him of how he wasn't able to fulfill his promise to Ballu. Hmm...I can't help but appreciate Ballu's dedication to his friend. Despite everything he's done, I can't help but feel bad for him. How truly unfortunate things have been for him. He comes back to India hoping to see his best friend, fulfill a promise, and live out his days in peace. Never did he imagine that instead, he would be robbed (yes, robbed - since all of this started with DJ's one lie) of his relations. I'm not validating what he's done to Prem in any way. I am still disgusted by it. BUT, his intentions towards Balraj have always been true (though I still find it hard to believe that he never once spoke to his best friend after going to Canada). It was sad seeing him repent for the promise he broke. Is he deserving of my pity?
Prem's grandmother's attitude towards Nihaal's mother is bothersome. And I hated how she said "main undar nahi jaaoungi, maine apne shivji ke darshan kar liye hai". It makes no sense to me, but I guess, this is how things are sometimes.
LOVED Kulraj's retort to Veera today. "Yeh bhagwan ka darbar hai. Yaha insaan apni aukaat dekh kar nahi, apni shraddha le kar aata hai." 👏🏻 Veera's too annoying.
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Do I need to say I LOVED the last scene today?
The scene was reminiscent of the jail scene a little bit at first.🥰
Heer was looking at Prem, conveying her undying love to him, and Prem's smile...it actually reached his eyes. He was really smiling for the first time in so so long.
LOVED the way they passed the dhaga back and forth to one another. Loved how during the entire scene, they're eyes were fixed on each other...the gaze didn't falter even for a second. Even while stating their mannats, they looked each other in the eye, silently making promises to one another.
He ties the first knot, for the relationship that he and Heer share. One that will only strengthen with each passing day. He says "aur bhi mazboot ho gaye hai"....I think this hints the the fact that after he finally opened up to her last week, let her into the storm brewing within him, their love, their bond, has only grown stronger. Loved her flashback as she thought back to the day he initiated the beginning of this new, "mazboot" rishta of theirs. And she remembers, that this was the day that he sacrificed all else, for her.
🥰🥰🥰And so, she ties the second knot, for the sacrifice he's made. For those relationships they've somehow lost, simply because of the relationship they share. With this, she silently promises that she will somehow reunite him and his family.
He ties a third knot, for their faith. His faith, that she will stand by him always. Her faith, that he will always protect her, be with her. Their faith, that as long as they have each other, as long as they walk hand in hand, things will be okay. Their faith that together, they will be able to fix the severed ties. Their faith, that in the end, Ullu will accept them...together.
She ties a third knot, for the support that they do have. His Mother's support, His Brother's support, Each Other's Support.
He ties a fourth knot, in the name of Their Happiness. The happiness that comes with having that support...the happiness that comes with the fact that despite everything, in the end, they are together.
She ties a fifth knot, for the hapiness that awaits them. The happiness is theirs, but that hasn't been granted yet. The happiness that is sure to come with time. Things are going to get better, relationships are going to be revived. I just couldn't help but think here, that Heer was talking about Prem's happiness, and not THEIR happiness. Since she's going to gift him back to Ullu so that he can be happy again, I couldn't help but think that the happiness that awaits that she was talking about, was for him. Though, for Prem, he couldn't even imagine being happy without her, so for him, it was THEIR Happiness....
The mannats were so beautifully done...so very in sync and complimentary to one another.
The long stare they shared after all was said and done was captivating. Each looked at the other with oceans of love and respect in their eyes. With a renewed faith, that together, they will obtain the happiness which they have a right to.
All in all, wonderful episodes that are definitely moving the show in a positive direction.
LOVED the WHITE...LOVED the SMILES....LOVED the renewed FAITH...
I have a good feeling about the storm to come...
Love,
~Payal
