I think the only reason we keep going back and forth on that idea is because we all read somewhere that Prem is going to die, but maybe that was their plan when they started with this serial, but we also read somewhere that that was the initial plot but has been changed because of Prem's growing fan following.. so it could be anybody's death but prem's and why would Ekta or her creative heads kill a person who has been actually carrying the show on his shoulders, with Heer ofcourse, because face it, minus Heer or minus Prem there is nothing really to watch except for maybe Preet, none of us watch the show for Lallu chacha or DJ or anybody else...
So I think everybody should stop getting worried about Prem's death... and they have anyway changed a lot of from what was written on indya.com, like Vishaka being in love with Prem, cause she is already married, or ash being a nice girl, well she is being nice now (or is she really, cause I still haven't forgiven for treating Meher so badly and not revealing to Preet that Heer and Meher are her cousins????)
