7 jul: big things, little things

did you know that a day's episode gets repeated a million times in singapore? this is the first bt,lt that's coming with two viewings. a first viewing with a pair of excitable prem-lovers (wow, can teenagers screech when prem comes on screen!) and the second viewing with a bowl of mocha-almond-fudge icecream. maybe i can do the next with a bowl of popcorn and a malt milkshake. hmmm, the possibilities are endless. only, the story remains the same...

* big thing: was actually part of the recap. gayatri-mom actually hitting back at lalu-chacha about his crazy anger levels with prem. i'd actually thought that was a very cool part of the last show, which i don't think i mentioned in the 1-3jul bt,lt. it's good to see gayatri-mom working, in her own way, to make lalu-chacha see the error of his ways. i just hope it won't be too late for prem when it finally happens. 😕

* big thing: i seriously loved preet poking fun at his "eid-ka-chand" and prem admonishing him for it, and then preet laughingly pulling his ears for forgiveness.

why did i love it? 'cause the father has been a cause of such disruption. and yet the children are displaying no real hatred of the man! it's like "okay, there's a glitch just now, but we're all going to solve it. no hard feelings. so let's party till it is solved." just loved the implication of the love for the father in that attitude. something that we on the forum certainly can't bring ourselves to have! 😆 😆

* little thing: have i mentioned earlier that i think the veera angle is boring???

* little thing: music's playing. bodys' are swaying. hips are shaking. arms are twisting. all celebrating prem's award. and what's prem doing? what he does at all parties - standing aloof in a corner! 🤣

and seeking heer, of course. this time with a little more desperation than ever before. after all, it's his house, damnit! 😆

* big thing: i detested that cheap employer-man and his cheap remarks! 😡 that entire meher-cheap-man conversation had my blood boiling! seriously! how dare anyone have that attitude about anyone else! how dare they display it??!! the uncivilised lout! i was so mad that even the ice-cream didn't help.

and of course, i could completely feel what it was doing to prem. he was probably dying having to hear that cheap-man talk about heer like that -- "she will certainly work extra for it tomorrow" 😡 -- and not being able to break el cheap creep's face up.

* little thing: first time, meher has come face to face with stern prem. no wonder she didn't have a word to say other than "aap". does meher use aap usually?
* little thing: prem still can't use "heer" in a coherent, simple sentence! 🤣 "uh.. heer... where's heer?"

* little thing: but okay, does prem have to do that royal halt-hand gesture? for a moment, i couldn't figure if he was stopping meher, or blessing her! had to see his stern face to figure out what! 🤣

* little thing: they've lived with him for so long, and still kulraj-di-preet can't figure prem's mood from his expression? i guess not. i think that's what prem always has been -- superb at hiding his feelings from everyone except his mom, and now, heer.

or maybe, kulraj-di thinks that after her letting out that heer has been slaving to setup the party for him, prem's just desperate to get to heer to ... um ... thank her in private? is that why kulraj-di and preet did that little low five? sigh. i hope so....

* prem thing: from that point on - hearing el cheap creep abuse his love - the entire prem sequence was stunning. figuring out that she's been doing the work he thinks is his responsibility. feeling totally tied down in not being able to wreck havoc on someone who has said dirty things about heer. being locked into a party going on in the privacy of his "home", surrounded by "outside people". working up the fury as he walks up the stairs, with furrows on his brow.

and then, as he walks towards heer-at-the-window worrying her nails, the way that anger melts. the way he ends up looking down at her with eyes filled with infinite love and immense sadness. the way his eyes dropped when she looks up at him with her clear eyes, filled with their usual love message. prem's eyes have never dropped in front of heer's before! (she should've got a clue that something was awfully wrong then!) the look of what-am-i-doing-here-i'm-not-worthy-to-yell-at-her. standing silently waiting for what he thinks is her confession about her work. stepping up close to her, as if to give her courage - that he is with her. (idiot! doesn't he realise that when he's that close-up to her, her brain is probably getting scrambled?? idiot.) and then his face - when he realises that she's telling him she loves him and wants to marry him. he looks like he's hit with a ton of bricks. like he wishes that he had never come there. that he had stopped her from speaking.

and all through he speaks not one word. simply brilliant. if only...

* begging thing: they had just got rid of that song in the background!!!! i mean, i know it's a signature song for something and all that. but puhlease!! it was just sooo wrong then!

can we puhlease get better editors on this show?? please? this show deserves the best and it's not getting it.

* heer thing: just as prem was heartbreakingly deep today, heer was heartbreakingly sweet. she still can't articulate any sensible conversation with prem. other than through her eyes, of course! it really is true. these two can only talk with her eyes.

loved her desperation to be able to say something to prem today, though. loved the sense that heer is mimicking a lot of what prem has gone through -- even the words they use are the same. 😆 loved her needing her talisman ring to have the courage to tell him she can't live without him.

and even though i got prem's reaction today, heer's sweetness was such that it was a blow to hear prem's broken voice saying he can't marry her. heer has always seen prem fight - against everything. she has never seen uncertain prem, unconfident prem.

maybe it's a guy-girl thing? for heer, after the mindblowing romance of prem's walking through fire, things like getting roti-kapda-makaan is probably mundane. (well, it would certainly be for me! 😆) while, at the end of his miserable day and heer's magnificent proposal, the only thing he can focus on is his inadequacy to perform the traditional male role. after having been made to feel inadequate by the sleaze, then his father, his own feeling of inadequacy was probably the last straw to break the hero's heart.

* prem thing: so, i confess - i wanted to cry for prem today, choking on my ice-cream. the guy's had a really lousy day. meets the sleazy industrialist. discovers a possible takeover attempt of his father's hotel. gets publicly humiliated by his father at what was his hotel. walks tiredly into a crazy party where no-one really cares about him. finds out that heer's working to keep him in his proper place in life. finds out that people can abuse her, and there's nothing he can do about it. finds out he can't get angry at heer. finds out that his being there is not stopping the tear from her eyes.

* prem-heer thing: i totally got his freaking out at her proposal. i totally loved her reaction of disbelief - it can't be that prem doesn't love her! and then, disbelief that it's because her hero, her soul-mate is feeling inadequate!

totally loved the shot of his feet backing away from her. and just as totally loved her feet following his, as if not willing to let him go anywhere. totally loved the sense of desperation that prem projected of being overwhelmed by everything and wanting - maybe for the first time ever that we have been seeing him - to run away. totally loved her helplessness in watching him trying to go.

at the end of that, did anyone else want to tell heer that prem was like that white dove she used to have at her father's house? the one that never used to leave, even when all the other flew away. and that all she had to do was wait for him to take a deep breath, and collect himself. all she had to do was to hold his hand while he did so.

presumptuous of me, i know. but given what we have seen. given where we are. that's what feels right about prem and heer. 😍 ya, i confess - i do still think the story rocks. even with the often-bad presentation and the distracting actors and everything - the core, i like. i wish it could have been told consistently better.

highlight of the episode: the look on prem's face shifting from sterness to melty love looking at heer from behind her. his eyes dropping from the shining love in hers.

and okay, i must confess: the ashlesha scene with prem today made me giggle. i mean, c'mon! did you see the look on prem's face when she hugged him??? or the last look on heer's face when ash rubbed prem's arm??? it was certainly not just having too much sugar at 3am that was making me giggle wildly. 🤣

Mocha-almond-fudge....and Prem....WOW! I can't help but be a bit jealous! 😆

I loved this from Thursday's episode too...but, its not just Thursday. Ever since her beloved Prem left her on account of the Ullu, there hasn't been one episode thats gone by where she hasn't made some snide comment to him about it. I love her for this too - I think slowly, Ullu is realizing the error of his ways...but yes, like you said, I hope in the end, Its not too late for Prem...lets keep our fingers crossed. I think he'll show up at the party today and create more problems for an already down and out Prem...God I could Kill this man.

Because in the end, can you really hate a father like Ullu? I mean, really Hate him...? We all know Prem doesn't harbor any harsh feelings for the man - voh apne papa ke baare mein kuch bhi nahi sun sakta...its in his nature. Yes, he is upset about his father's dejection, but he can't so much as dislike the man - let alone hate him. As for the other kids, they too are upset, but I think they're keeping their eyes on the silver lining...Ullu's simply created an obstacle...in the end, everything is going to work out for the best. I think its this determination that keeps the kids lighthearted about it. And of course, because they know that Ullu loves Prem more than anything...he's just being stubborn.

I just don't get it yaar. Obviously it seems she will end up falling head over heels for Nihaal...but for now, I'm quite irritated by her. Its clear she's the baby of the family - what a brat.

The dancing in the first part of yesterday's episode was just WIERD. As for him standing aloof in the corner, can we expect any less? Prem Juneja doesn't dance...we learned that early on. And anyway, he's got better things to do - find his HEER....considering the aforementioned, I think we can let his aloofness slide. 😆

Did you see the look on Prem's face? He was shellshocked that the man could talk like that to Meher - and About Heer! It was yet another blow to his day. I swear if Prem was in better standing he would have given the idiot a thing or two to contemplate. What I don't understand is, how the H*LL do you even Dare to show up at someone's house and disrespect them like that? 😡

Poor girl looked so petrified. Yes...even before, she's always referred to him as "aap" ...actually, if I'm not mistaken, she refers to everyone with "aap"...but for some reason, this time, it sounded more pronounced...as if she was saying "Crap...you heard everything, didn't you?"

Very good point, and I find it hard to believe too - even in the end, they both come down looking completely heartbroken and shattered, and Kulraaj says "lagta hai baat bangayi"...kaash if only Gayatri Mom was there...

Agreed. He was magnificent....the numerous expressions of desperation, frustration, helplessness, and undoubtedly, anger, that flashed across his face in those moments was incredible....and all those feelings seemed to be peaking with every step he took...

This blew me away...and, reminded me of another love so deep...I was astounded that in that moment when he saw Heer, everything he had felt just before simply vanished into thin air. I could help but get chocked up seeing the way he was looking at her with such unconditional love...and, undoubtedly, an apology...he was so sorry then, that he couldn't take care of her the way he intended to...that he stood there, and watched someone disrespect her so brutally. the way his eyes dropped when she looks up at him with her clear eyes, filled with their usual love message. I was shocked that he turned away and dropped his eyes...as if he was ashamed to even be in her presence...as if he knew he was undeserving of her love... prem's eyes have never dropped in front of heer's before! (she should've got a clue that something was awfully wrong then!) Exactly. I loved Heer today...the courage she had to muster just to say what she needed to say...and you're so very right...she's never had so much as a real conversation with him before...and for her first one to carry so much weight...I couldn't help but adore her for it.

She sounded so very desperate...and the desperation only increased with the length of her monolouge. The ring thing I found a bit odd...there she was looking for it when it was sitting right there on the floor between the two of them..hehe - silly. But loved how she said "Himmat hai dil mein..." She absolutely rocked yesterday!

Prem's reaction was with reason, but I too, for a moment, was hurting for Heer...after all that, after all the courage she had to muster up to confess to him...to PROPOSE to him...his "nahin" was heartbreaking. I love that you mention she's never seen a broken Prem before...so very true...I love how she in the beginning of her speach says "agar (naukri) nahi mili toh koi baat nahin...mera matlab hai...baat hai, lekin, ye zindagi hai...aur...main hoon na tumhare saath." It was so sweet and at the same time, so very mature. It was her way of telling him that she has the courage to walk through the tough times with him. By the same token, through Prem's denial and reasoning session, she wanted to scream at the top of her lungs to make him understand that she didn't care, that she was with him in this and that they would get through it together...she was so very hurt seeing him shattered like that...she just wanted to take all his pain away...and too, didn't understand why he wouldn't let her try to help him. Why wouldn't he let her be his courage and strength when he had been just that for her? Need I repeat - I just Loved Heer Yesterday.

Her proposal was indeed the cherry on top of his already crappy day. Everything had just built up, and then her proposal broke him completely. He was already pressuring himself to be able to fulfill that male role, when he learned that Heer was doing the providing...and then for her to turn around and propose...how could he accept when in his heart, he wasn't worthy of her?

I DID cry for Prem...love the last point you've made here...his being their can't stop her tears...those tears are his undoing...he was supposed to protect her...not let her be hurt...and he can't even do that. It really was the icing on the cake...😭 I hate to think Prem think's he's inadequate...its heartwrenching.

I loved the whole sequence...his "rejection"...then her pleading further - asking why? give me one good reason why! I know you love me, that can't be it - so why Prem, why?....and his stepping away from her...trying to get away from her heartbreak, her tears...and the guilt that he was the cause....It was so beautifully done.

After Premeer's display on the chat yesterday, I respect them both much much more...I love to love them much much more...and I too think the story "rocks"...okay, given, there are lose ends...but, as you said, the core still seems intact...and, unlike others have said, or believe, THE PREM, The original Prem still exists...if he didn't, he would have accepted Heer's proposal without thinking twice...

well, while i didn't think his not accepting her proposal was not a disaster, i did get hit by his out-and-out saying no. understood it, but winced for heer. his rejection was there in everything -- his words, his body language. i mean, as a rejection is was superbly done.

but still, there was a lot of it. y'remember, after prem confessed his love to heer? here, i was swallowing past a huge lump in my throat. this rejection didn't have an external reason like it did in the heer-rejection case. it is all between just these two now. who love each other so completely that there is no sense in their not being together. so, when he stepped away so completely, almost irrefutably- words, body language, everything - it was difficult to take. the most normal question screaming in the head is "why, prem, why? why is this not a postponement, a let-wait-awhile? why is it no?"

and i can tell myself it's just that he's in a bad spot just now. but i can see why it's upsetting too.

Am not able to say anything because of the severe time constraints and whatever the little time I get, I just get bombarded with the negativity here and become completely numb against it...😕

I also felt a lump in my throat when he made it a complete rejection, rather than a postponement, asking for some time, reassuring her, etc...😕...But then I told myself the same thing you said, he is completely shattered with various things all through the day and the last nail on the coffin was the knowledge of Heer providing for him, that too without even letting him know about it...

Also, whatever he says, I don't think Heer buys that at this point..She isn't going to get affected, feel hurt or offended about this rejection..She knows that he has a point...

I felt like crying for Prem today...😭

why did i love it? 'cause the father has been a cause of such disruption. and yet the children are displaying no real hatred of the man! it's like "okay, there's a glitch just now, but we're all going to solve it. no hard feelings. so let's party till it is solved." just loved the implication of the love for the father in that attitude. something that we on the forum certainly can't bring ourselves to have! 😆 😆 Yea I loved that too. The way Prem still loves his father, its so sweet. And Preet, he has mood swings. Sometimes he's really angry at his father, and sometimes he's totally ok and making fun of him... 😆

* little thing: have i mentioned earlier that i think the veera angle is boring??? Yea, there was no use of showing all that. You should see her expressions when Nihaal was shaking hands with Prem. Does she have a special enemity with Nihaal? And then there was no use of showing her dance with Nihaal and then realizing who she's dancing with...

* little thing: music's playing. bodys' are swaying. hips are shaking. arms are twisting. all celebrating prem's award. and what's prem doing? what he does at all parties - standing aloof in a corner! 🤣 Yea, the parties for him, and he's just standing there... 😆

and seeking heer, of course. this time with a little more desperation than ever before. after all, it's his house, damnit! 😆

* big thing: i detested that cheap employer-man and his cheap remarks! 😡 that entire meher-cheap-man conversation had my blood boiling! I was really hoping for some Prem angry-man action there... seriously! how dare anyone have that attitude about anyone else! how dare they display it??!! the uncivilised lout! i was so mad that even the ice-cream didn't help.

and of course, i could completely feel what it was doing to prem. he was probably dying having to hear that cheap-man talk about heer like that -- "she will certainly work extra for it tomorrow" 😡 -- and not being able to break el cheap creep's face up. I was really hoping he would. If only he still had a good job, then he would have the confidence for it all...

* little thing: first time, meher has come face to face with stern prem. no wonder she didn't have a word to say other than "aap". does meher use aap usually? I don't know. But she's changed a lot from the beginning of the show, from a angry punjabi girl to a shy, scared girl...
* little thing: prem still can't use "heer" in a coherent, simple sentence! 🤣 "uh.. heer... where's heer?" Yea. But I loved the way he said Heer, you could hear the anger in his voice.

* little thing: but okay, does prem have to do that royal halt-hand gesture? for a moment, i couldn't figure if he was stopping meher, or blessing her! had to see his stern face to figure out what! 🤣 LMAO... wow! 😆😆

* little thing: they've lived with him for so long, and still kulraj-di-preet can't figure prem's mood from his expression? Ok yea, that creeped me out too. I was like wow! Kulraaj di thinks that he said yes, did she see his expression! I'm pretty sure he would've been atleast smiling. i guess not. i think that's what prem always has been -- superb at hiding his feelings from everyone except his mom, and now, heer.

or maybe, kulraj-di thinks that after her letting out that heer has been slaving to setup the party for him, prem's just desperate to get to heer to ... um ... thank her in private? is that why kulraj-di and preet did that little low five? sigh. i hope so....

* prem thing: from that point on - hearing el cheap creep abuse his love - the entire prem sequence was stunning. figuring out that she's been doing the work he thinks is his responsibility. feeling totally tied down in not being able to wreck havoc on someone who has said dirty things about heer. being locked into a party going on in the privacy of his "home", surrounded by "outside people". working up the fury as he walks up the stairs, with furrows on his brow.

and then, as he walks towards heer-at-the-window worrying her nails, the way that anger melts. the way he ends up looking down at her with eyes filled with infinite love and immense sadness. the way his eyes dropped when she looks up at him with her clear eyes, filled with their usual love message. prem's eyes have never dropped in front of heer's before! (she should've got a clue that something was awfully wrong then!) the look of what-am-i-doing-here-i'm-not-worthy-to-yell-at-her. standing silently waiting for what he thinks is her confession about her work. stepping up close to her, as if to give her courage - that he is with her. (idiot! doesn't he realise that when he's that close-up to her, her brain is probably getting scrambled?? idiot.) and then his face - when he realizes that she's telling him she loves him and wants to marry him. he looks like he's hit with a ton of bricks. like he wishes that he had never come there. that he had stopped her from speaking.

Oh god! I just love how you put it! This was today's best scene, I loved the whole encounter. I loved the way his anger melted. I love he way he got the ring. And I loved the way he put his hand on her face. And I just adored the way he walked back, and Heer followed him. So many emotions in that scene, they all flowed so perfectly.

and all through he speaks not one word. simply brilliant. if only...

loved her desperation to be able to say something to prem today, though. loved the sense that heer is mimicking a lot of what prem has gone through -- even the words they use are the same. 😆 loved her needing her talisman ring to have the courage to tell him she can't live without him.

and even though i got prem's reaction today, heer's sweetness was such that it was a blow to hear prem's broken voice saying he can't marry her. heer has always seen prem fight - against everything. she has never seen uncertain prem, unconfident prem.

maybe it's a guy-girl thing? for heer, after the mindblowing romance of prem's walking through fire, things like getting roti-kapda-makaan is probably mundane. (well, it would certainly be for me! 😆) while, at the end of his miserable day and heer's magnificent proposal, the only thing he can focus on is his inadequacy to perform the traditional male role. after having been made to feel inadequate by the sleaze, then his father, his own feeling of inadequacy was probably the last straw to break the hero's heart.

* prem thing: so, i confess - i wanted to cry for prem today, choking on my ice-cream. the guy's had a really lousy day. meets the sleazy industrialist. discovers a possible takeover attempt of his father's hotel. gets publicly humiliated by his father at what was his hotel. walks tiredly into a crazy party where no-one really cares about him. finds out that heer's working to keep him in his proper place in life. finds out that people can abuse her, and there's nothing he can do about it. finds out he can't get angry at heer. finds out that his being there is not stopping the tear from her eyes. I totally forgot about his whole day. I was only angry at him for refusing to marry her... I didn't even think about his entire day. He's gone through so much. This is why I read your big things, little things... I can always make a better opinion.. 😳

* prem-heer thing: i totally got his freaking out at her proposal. i totally loved her reaction of disbelief - it can't be that prem doesn't love her! and then, disbelief that it's because her hero, her soul-mate is feeling inadequate!

totally loved the shot of his feet backing away from her. and just as totally loved her feet following his, as if not willing to let him go anywhere. totally loved the sense of desperation that prem projected of being overwhelmed by everything and wanting - maybe for the first time ever that we have been seeing him - to run away. totally loved her helplessness in watching him trying to go.

Oh yea. That was my highlight of the episode. I could sense the desperation in Heer, it looked like she was about to lose something very important to her. Like she was gonna miss a train - Jab we Met. I could feel the feeling. I think the two did a great job on that.

at the end of that, did anyone else want to tell heer that prem was like that white dove she used to have at her father's house? the one that never used to leave, even when all the other flew away. and that all she had to do was wait for him to take a deep breath, and collect himself. all she had to do was to hold his hand while he did so.

presumptuous of me, i know. but given what we have seen. given where we are. that's what feels right about prem and heer. 😍 ya, i confess - i do still think the story rocks. even with the often-bad presentation and the distracting actors and everything - the core, i like. i wish it could have been told consistently better. I think the story still rocks to. I know I'm not gonna give up on this serial to quickly. I've fallen for it head over heel...

highlight of the episode: the look on prem's face shifting from sterness to melty love looking at heer from behind her. his eyes dropping from the shining love in hers.

and okay, i must confess: the ashlesha scene with prem today made me giggle. Don't worry your not the only one...😆 i mean, c'mon! did you see the look on prem's face when she hugged him??? or the last look on heer's face when ash rubbed prem's arm??? it was certainly not just having too much sugar at 3am that was making me giggle wildly. 🤣

I loved what Ash said too. I'm so glad Prem isn't going to feel bad about ditching Ash anymore. If only he knew how loyal Ash is... 😆😆

Hon I am glad you loved the show, coz i felt so depressed after watching it....couldnt prem have atleast reserved his decision instead of rejecting it?????now he will go back to his crib and we will be sad once more...not that i have been happy all this time....my hopes are all down the drain....and i am planning to join it too...

Well i really hope something good happens but the hope is dim...really when lallu will come he will create a scene and prem will be sad and teary and wont say a word and heer will feel more guilty and then we all know what will happen...

Another thing did you get the feeling that prem was not as good as he was before???I dont know but i just had this feeling that his mind wasnt on acting....usually his passion and pain along with intensity you can see but last night i thought it felt as if he was just saying the dialouge???maybe coz of the mahabharat thingy???well you can tell me what you think???
