I think there's a high chance of something happening with them two becuase:

1. when they were jogging it seemed like something would happen. I cant explain it, but how preet was laughing with her at ash

2. he keeps on blaming her for things, usually this happens in other serials and they get close

and also a BIG way they can be together is if they both help prem and heer 😛
