Today, I'm attempting to do something after ages. It really isn't fair in my view to critically analyse a soap when its just been on air for three months. Nevertheless, this is an honest attempt. (will update this as and when the show progresses)
Kis Desh Main Hai Mera Dil has been portrated as a different love story - all about pre destined and immortal love. It was supposed to redfine love on the small screen. All in all the whole story has a very different but comtemporary feel to it. Very Realistic in some ways to say the least....It has us glued to the TV Screen at the time slot of 8:30 pm on Star Plus thanks to a rocking chemistry between the main protogists. Its supposed to be a love story - very different from the regular rona dhona and the saas bahu khitpit ..the show is different and catching on...Right??? Think Again! Right? Wrong!
I am still trying to fathom out the reason as to why most of us go gaga over this serial - Preets one liners, Ashlesha's comedian streak, Heers Sensitivity, Prems endearing look, heer and prems expressions where they talk through the eyes, gayatri as the mother hen, mehers vunerability, Manmeets psychoism, kaki whom all of us thought would be a catalyst in bringing Kunal and Nimmo together! And this is the serial that has us say Yeh dil mange more!! The show is supposed to us smile and laugh and believe in the beauty and power of love? For me, like always, a show has started off well but somewhere down the lime has lost its steam.
Money is everything in todays world and hey don't work hard because hard work never pays, Talent is of no use, use other people and other people's feelings to get our point across or then is it showing us and telling us to bad and mean and use and hurt other peoples feelings because being good and kind and ever so sacrificing is not going to help you at all... its definately not teaching us to move ahead in life - isnt life all about moving ahead or is it being haunted by your past memories?
Never look back and think of those who have made you, never look down to see where you have come from and yep, be ever so ungrateful as you can.
New characters are being shown, characters who will soon disaapear for the creatives will not know how to handle the plot. Too many cooks spoil the broth - yep, you guessed it right!! some characters have lost their essence over the years.
Lalit was supposed to be an extremely humble man and a man of words. However, he is coming across as some one who is riuthless, insensitive and totally spineless.
Gayatri was one person who vowed to get prem his love but has very conveniently forgotten that thanks to the creatives and the story writers suffering from amnesia!!! I dont think the story writers and the creatuves have a goal in sight and know where they want the story to head. Else how can one explain too many loopholes and unresolved tracks in a span of three months. Instead of working on unresolved tracks the creatives seem to be wanting to add more masala to hook the audience... please gimme a break!!
Is KDMHMD teaching us to have no feelings??
Heer was someone portrayed to be sensitive but lately it seems as if she doesn't have a heart. Prem was portrayed as some one who cared for others but lately he is being portrayed as the modern day devdas. lit seems to be someone who is hell bent on hurting other peoples feelings. He surely isn't concerned about what his wife must be feeling, what would go through his sons mind. He seemed to have forgotten his best friend Balraj ever so easily. Is it really so easy to forget a person specially some one with whom you claim to have loved and be best friends with.
Its always a full moon is Kis Desh. Where are preet and harman? Where is Beeji? Why has lalit changed so much? Why is there no passing reference of balraj and teji by lalit and gayatri? Why is daljeet so anti meher and heer? Where is the freshness and cuteness is romance.
Prem loves heer and has no sworm that he does not want to marry heer. So its obvious that he wont marry heer. Is there any logic in this? I dont think the story writers themselves are aware as to how they want the story to shape and going by the current track, it seems too run of the mill kinds.
Oh they are lost for sure. They dont know how to hold on and retain freshness and think that the tried and tested do the trick. Nopes thats not the way things work - atleast not any more. The competitors seemed have realized it and have cashed on it. They innovate something that balaji doesnt want to do and if they do, they are too scared to constantly innovate and improvise.
The Loopholes in the story are many and the character skectch very confusing.
Relationships within the Junejas and the Manns are still unclear - so unclear and so confusing that one just cant stretch their brain cells any more. Its not very clear as to why , how, when, for what daljeet is so hell bent on heer marrying manmeet, why daljeet is so vicious , Manmeet in todays episde mentioned property - hello what property is he taking about ... thought it was always the land....It seems as if there are a lot of hidden skeletons in the closet of juneja and mann family.
Hmn Manmeet wants to marry heer for property... now where have I heard that before - ahhh yes, remember kavyanjali... prem dies and preet marries heer, ashlesha turns negative - heard that one too - ghar ek mandir
Why is the "future" so predictable that we can honestly safely say that this will turn to be a saas bahu crap.
Whats with Heer and her tears..can some one tell her that its not the end of the world.. everytime she looks at Prem and Prem looks at her, i feel they both are singing ..dont cry for me -argentina ...ooops dont cry for me - my sweet love. Can someone please tell them that its ok to sacrifice but one has to fight for what is rightfully theirs. Pyar kia hai koi chori nahin ki prem and heer darling…
Why is Meher shown to be so meek. I honestly expected that girl to have substsnce.

Kaki was supposed to be a silver lining in the cloud but its so darn obvious that she is just another character who will never expose the truth
t seems that the madding crowd funda caught up with lalit and it was upto gayatri to raise the kids and in the quest of yearning and working hard for more income and making a name for himself in the business world. I guess, he forgot to spend quality time with his children.
Beejis Relationship with her grand children ad children has never been explored. In fact she is just relegated to being a mere bi stander.
The creatives it seens are trying to create a magic of their success story here in this show and they seem to forget that this show has its own USP and they should encash upon it.
Uff and thisdaljeet and her husband – their scheming ways are driving me up the wall. Is Kis desh Main Hai Mera Dil Ka actually teaching us that falling in is a bad bad idea and telling us not to believe in love and the institution of marriage?????
I expected more out of the story line in particular. The last thing one wants to do after a hard days of work is to sit on the television and cry along with Heer or then bang their heads against the wall seeing a a highly psychotic manmeet, an obessive daljeet, a weakling lalit
Whatever happenned to the cute and subtle teasing between prem and heer. What happened to Preets banter with his dad. What about prems cute expressions, heers sensitive? Whatever happenned to the prem and heer ? What about the cute banter betweenpreet and his dad ? Wouldn't it be fun had this continued to be a romanic show? Sadly, think the balaji creative team got a little too ambitious and decided to try the tried and tested formula... but somebody please tell them that the tried and tested formula doesnt work all the times as all factors have to be taken into consideration. It isnt necessary, what works well for one has to work well for others. It doesnt work that way. (Its good to take risk and a greatness of the person lies in the fact, to the extent that they are able to stand up to their own conviction. )
Alas, kis desh main hai mera dil isn't about falling in love any more. It's about about revenge and hey where are the emotions gone? Its now about the quest to reach the top, the quest to ruin anothers life at the expense of losing your smile and your soul....
