Prem watched her walk away with her fianc.

Prem and Heer had been friends since elementary school, and stayed close friends throughout the years. Never did Prem ever think he would have fallen for his Heeriye.

They were by each others side through every moment of their lives. From Prem's first girlfriend to Heer's first crush. From A-Z Prem and Heer had been there for each other.

When Heer's parents had gotten Heer's rishta fixed, Prem was troubled. He didn't know why, but he wasn't happy at all. In fact, he had even admitted to his younger brother that he'd strangle the guy if he came any closer to his Heeriye.' To which his brother repiled, "gee PB you sound jealous. If I didn't know better, I'd say you liked Heer."

Truth was, somewhere along the years Heer had developed feelings for Prem. And Prem had feelings for Heer. However, they both dismissed the feeling as nothing. "What idiots," Preet thought looking at his brother and Heer.

After they finished university, they decided to go to Europe with a group of friends as a small vacation. Over the trip, Prem and Heer had really gotten to know each other on a different level. It was as if they had known a different Prem and Heer all their lives. The care, the flirting, the understanding, it wasobvious to everyone but the two in question.

All it took was a long walk with each other on the surreal trails of Switzerland at sundown. The trip was nearing it's end and neither of them had wanted it to end. Prem had seen the warmth and care in Heer's eyes. He swear he saw it for himself, but Heer looked away quickly before he could read into it.

Heer was getting all flustered under Prem's innocent gaze. That's not something Heer is used to doing. She was going to be engaged, yet here she was wishing it were Prem's name that was being tied with hers. Could she really break her relationship with Prashant only for the chance that there might be something between her and Prem?

Back at the arrivals terminal at the YEG International Airport, Heer looked back and waved at Prem as Prashant walked her away. Heer smiled, but Prem didn't return it. Instead he quickly turned away and walked in the opposite direction.

Heer was taken aback. She saw something flicker in Prem's eyes, she dared think of it to be longing. It was just for a moment, if you had blink you would have missed it. But Heer didnt. Walking away from Prem felt like she was being torn into 2 pieces. It felt like her heart had stayed back with Prem.

Prem walked outside to where his brother was waiting for him. He didn't feel like talking, just felt like being in his own thoughts.

Prem closed his eyes and saw Heer wearing the beautiful blue saree to the dinner party their hotel was having. She looked like an angel walking towards him. His angel.

Prem's heart ached when Heer walked away so easily with Prashant. As if anything that happened on the trip was nothing.

In the car Prashant had began chatting about his meetings and business endeavours. Heer really had no interest at the moment. All she could think of was Prem.

Prem thought of Heer's beautiful and soulful eyes

She closed her eyes

He ran his hand through his hair in frustration

She saw his face smiling, and her heart knew.

During the car ride home, Prem could only think about Heer. How he wanted to protect her, keep her happy, and how he would have wished that time had stood still that night in Switzerland.

Heer wished that god had granted her wish of staying with Prem in those unforgettable moments from their trip. She was losing herself. She felt her heart flutter when she thought of just his name. She had to make a decision. She had to take a risk.

She smiled at herself, knowing what she had to do

Prem sighed and got our of the car. He went straight up into his room and locked the door shut behind him.

She got out of the car, and held Prashant's hand.

Prem lay on his bed and smiled at himself. His mind finally realized what his heart had known from before. He was in love with his very own Heeriye.

Prem turned his cell on and texted Heer. He didn't give a damn that Heer was going to be engaged soon. He wanted to tell her his feelings before it really was too late. The ultimate decision would be Heer's. And he would respect whatever decision she had.

'Heer I need to see you as soon as possible'

There was an instant reply 'I was just going to text you. How about tonight? At the Tim's by house.'

Prem smiled. That was their place to hang out. 'sounds good. Ill see you at 7 Heeriye'

6:45pm at Tim's, Prem was waiting for Heer.

"Prem?" Heer called out.

There was an instant grin that was settled on Prem's face. As he turned around, he was taken into a warm embrace. He buried his face into Heer's long black hair. Heer's hand went up around his neck and she hid her face into his shoulder.

"I love you Heer." Prem said as they came apart. "No just listen. I know you're getting engaged soon, and things between you and Prashant have been good. But Heer I couldnt just let you go. Not like this. I've accepted my feelings now. It seems late but I realized that this feeling I had for you, it was always there. I just didn't understand it. I don't know if you even feel the same for me, but I couldn't stop myself. I had to tell you. And now that its out there, it's completely up to you. Just know one thing Heer, I respect you, and I will respect your every decision. And even if you don't choose me, I will always remain your best friend. I promise you that."

"Okay" Heer stated

Prem arched his eye brows, "Okay? What's that supposed to mean exactly?"

"It means okay." Heer said coming a little closer to him.

Prem was about to open his mouth to say something, but Heer lean in and gave him a quick and innocent peck on the lips.

Prem's mouth went dry. His eyes grew wide. He didn't quite know what happened.

Heer covered her mouth as a giggle escaped her. She ran out the Tim's door towards her car. Prem stood there like an idiot looking after her. He shook himself out of his reverie and went after her.

He saw heer by her car laughing.

"What was that?' he asked slowly. He wasn't sure what all this meant.

"Stop acting like an idiot prem. It was a kiss." Heer said boldly

"But, what did that mean?"

"Do I really have to spell it out for you?" Heer ask quietly

Prem was silent. He needed to hear it.

"I love you too Prem." Heer confessed shyly.

"What about Prashant?" Prem asked.

"I told him the truth. That I couldn't live my life without Prem."

Prem came closer to Heer and moved her chin up so he could look into her eyes. A million words passed between them in a single glance. Prem brought his face closer to Heer's. He gave a small kiss on the side of her cheek. Heer closed her eyes and instinctively her hands clutched the front of Prem's shirt. Prem planted another kiss on her other cheek and moved his face away a few inches. He just looked at her beautiful face lit up in the moonlight. She was an angel and she was his, as he was hers.

Heer opened her eyes when she didn't feel the closeness of Prem's face. She smiled and looked down bashfully.

"Meri Heer ko sharmana bhi aata hai?" Prem teased

Heer hit him lightly on his shoulder, "shut up"

"Make me" Prem challenged

"Maybe I will then," Heer drawled on.

Prem smiled and inched his handsome face towards Heer's angelic one. Their lips met and they both poured out their longing and innocent love for each other. Prem's lips moved gently with Heer's in perfect sync. They savoured every moment of it. One giving and the other taking. All their emotions out in a simple kiss. When the kiss naturally broke, they rested their foreheads together and held their hands. They radiated with happiness.
