Sushant Facing Problems In Accepting YRF Offer

Posted by Prasant Nair on June 28, 2012 in Celebrity News 0 Comments

Tv serial actor Sushant singh Rajput is being offered new films under the mega YRF banner. But he is facing problems in signing the films because of the already exsisting deal with UTV motion pictures.

Yes,he has films under UTV also which sounds so lucky. The man who earned fame through Ztv serial 'Pavitra Rishta' has left the small screen for good, now he is soon to appear before us as a bollywood hero. But the current tussle between YRF and Utv is giving him sleepless nights.

A film offer from Yash raj films is a big thing for any actor, many exsisting big names havent got such a chance as yet.But Sushant is not in a position to encash it.The problem would be solved if UTV's second project with Sushant Rajput fails to commence before January 2013.Then, Sushant will be free to sign any film.

Orginally,he had 3 films offer under YRF of which he has lost one due to delay in accepting it.The second would be a masala film and the third purely dance based seeing his dancing abilities in 'Jhalak Dikhla Ja.

Sushant in a dilemma

Jun 30, 2012 - Reena Kapoor

Sushant Singh Rajput, who was playing the lead in the hit serialPavitra Rishta, quit his television career to pursue his big screen ambitions. The actor's original plan was to go to New York for a short course in filmmaking but life had other plans.

He grabbed a role in UTV productions Kai Po Che that is based on Chetan Bhagat's bestselling novel The 3 Mistakes Of My Life. And that's not all. Sushant is already an industry favourite, as other biggies want to cast him in their projects as well.
According to grapevine, he had a closed-door meeting with Aditya Chopra where he was offered a three-film contract by the producer. But since he has already signed the UTV film, Sushant is currently caught in a dilemma. "Working in a Yash Raj Film is every newcomer's dream. Kai Po Che is Sushant's launchpad , so he has to focus on it. But he trying to figure out a way he can collaborate with YRF too," said our source.
The last TV actor who saw this kind of hype surrounding him was Shah Rukh Khan. "It's too early to predict Sushant's future in Bollywood. He is a good actor and a brilliant dancer. He has nearly everything going for him. Hopefully he will live up to all expectations," the source adds.

Sushant Singh Rajput does the garba for new film

Popular television actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who is making his Bollywood debut with Rock On! (2008) director Abhishek Kapoor's next film Kai Po Che!, is set to enthrall the audience with a traditional Gujarati garba in the film.

A highly-placed source reveals that the actor is going to shoot the sequence in his next schedule, which is set to start in another 15 days, in Hyderabad. "It's quite a highoctane dance sequence where he will be seen matching steps with his co-actors in ethnic garba costumes," says the source.

Confirming the news, Sushant says, "This is the demand of the script and I will be doing my bit, along with all the cast members of Kai Po Che!"

Produced by UTV Motion Pictures, the film is based on author Chetan Bhagat's third novel, The 3 Mistakes of My Life. Actors Raj Kumar Yadav, Amit Sadh, Amrita Puri are his co-stars in the film.

Ask him if he is taking any special dance training, Sushant says, "I didn't have to train very hard as it's not a very difficult dance sequence."

Kite flying - old passion finds new celluloid expression

Hindi Film News Bookmark and Share
New Delhi, June 30 : For some it denotes a victory call, for others a struggle against obstacles and important life lessons -- India's age-old tradition of kite flying is being interestingly woven into the plots and sub-plots of films like "Kai Po Che!", "Patang" and "Gattu" with varied metaphorical inferences.

Be it in titles or story, kites are finding renewed popularity in the film world. Most such projects are set in Gujarat, where colourful kites of all shapes and sizes dot the sky around Independence Day and Makar Sankranti every year.

Abhishek Kapoor has used the Gujarati phrase 'Kai po che', a street term used popularly in the state during the kite flying festival, as the title of his next film, based on Chetan Bhagat's "The 3 Mistakes of My Life".

It is so due to two reasons, he explained: "My movie is set in Gujarat, and 'Kai po che!' is a victory call when you cut someone's kite. It is also the sound of celebration."

"Since my film has Gujarat as a backdrop, where kite flying is a huge thing and above all it metaphorically fits my film perfectly, I thought this would be the best title," Kapoor told IANS.

The term "Kai po che" was also used in a peppy song from "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam". Its lyrics and picturisation were primarily around the kite flying tradition in Gujarat.

Indian-American director Prashant Bhargava, whose debut film feature film is titled "Patang", says he was inspired by the way people of Gujarat use kite flying as a mean to deal with their problems.

"What touched me about Gujarat was the way people handled tragedy - riots, natural disasters. And kite flying played such an important role in providing them that momentum to pursue (happiness) and persevere," said Bhargava.

"For me kite flying was a meditation and a purifying experience. That magic that I saw during the research period was something that I wanted to preserve," added the director, who has captured the emotions that kids go through while flying kites in his film.

Kite flying also forms the ground for "Gattu", a children's film directed by Rajan Khosa. He pans the camera around the story of a young boy who wants to win over a mysterious kite in the sky and goes out of his way to achieve this dream.

The movie, releasing July 20, has travelled to various international film festivals, and received its share of acclaim already.

"Yeh Khula Aasmaan" was another film this year which drew focus on kite flying.

Actor Raghubir Yadav, who played a kite runner in the movie, where a kite was used as a metaphor to teach lessons of life, says the movie gave him a chance to relive his childhood love for flying kites.

"I loved flying kites as a child and even today I like it. Cricket and football are all new games. At that time when we were growing up, we used to play 'gilli danda' and used to have kite flying competitions. During the shoot of the film when we flew kites, it took me back to my childhood days and I enjoyed it a lot," he said.

It's not a new phenomena.

Shakti Samanta's 1970 classic "Kati Patang" dealt with the trials and tribulations of a woman, whose life becomes a directionless kite.

The figurative use of 'kites' was also loud and clear in Rakesh Roshan's 2010 affair "Kites".

The movie's story revolved around how love goes beyond boundaries and culture, and how love grows in tough times.

For Roshan, the inspiration for the script itself came from watching two kites fly in the air, it was a deeper meaning behind that drove the makers to title the film as "Kites", which starred Hrithik Roshan and Mexican actress Barbara Mori.

"Kites fly against the wind and not with it - the stronger the wind blows, higher the kites fly. Our protagonists in the movie too face obstacles; their love grows deeper with every increasing obstacle," director Anurag Basu had said during the film's release.

Generation Next:

Sushant Singh Rajput
If there's anyone Arjun is likely to
be pitted against most often in
years to come, it just might be
this guy.
It's rare to see a newcomer (who
isn't a star son) generate so
much buzz before his film has
even released, but all eyes are on
Sushant Singh Rajput. We'll see
him featured in Abhishek
Kapoor's Kai Po Che, a film that is
already hot property simply
because we've been anxiously
awaiting the Rock On director's
next film for years now.
The bigger news is that Aditya
Chopra wanted to sign Sushant
for one of YRF's infamous 3-film
contracts ' the most coveted
prize in any young actor's
wishlist. I dunno, maybe it's a
good thing that his stint with
UTV (who is producing Kai Po
Che) didn't allow him to sign
outside contracts. He might get
to do more interesting films now.
In the ginormously popular TV
serial Pavitra Rishta (which I was
an unabashedly guilty consumer
of) he was likable enough, but it
seems the industry really started
buzzing because of his
performances on various dance
shows, starting with last year's
Jhalak Dikhla Ja. And gotta say,
dude is pretty impressive. Has a
killer smile and emotes incredibly
well. See for yourself!
That's not a bad little brat pack, is
it? I say that should tide us over
while we wait for Aryan Khan to
grow up.
