It was a bright sunny morning.

Two girls were sleeping in their bedroom.

The sun was peeping through their windows telling them it is time to get up.

Peep peep peep, the alarm went off.

The eldest girl put her hand out to turn it off.

She opened one eye to see what time it was.

The clock struck 5 am.

"Urrrgggghhh, I hate having to wake up so early in the morning," she moaned.

"Meher get up it is 5 am we need to make breakfast for all the guests and also help maa," said the elder girl.

"Two minutes Heer didi," said Meher still snuggled up in her duvet.

Suddenly then they heard a knock on the door.

Meher jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom grabbing her clothes that had been laid out on the couch.

"Who is it?" asked Heer before opening the door.

"Heer, beta open the door it's me your mum," the person replied.

"Jee one minute maa I'll just open it," said Heer stepping forward to open it.

Heer opened the door to see her mother standing there with a tray in her hand.

"Heer, beta I have bought breakfast for you and Meher," said Teji there are a lot of guest here after all there is going to be a wedding in this house.

"Jee maa I'll just call Meher she is in the bathroom right now," said Heer.

"Okay but hurry and come down we have a very busy scheduled today as it is the henna ceremony and then tomorrow is the sangeet," said Teji.

"Jee maa we will be down soon, after all this is a special day for Meher.

"Ok, ok, by the way the groom's brother is coming by today's flight," said Teji smiling.

"Prem Juneja is coming?" asked Heer, her heart skipped a beat when she heard his name.

"Haan Prem Juneja the brother of Preet Juneja," said Teji admiring the look on her daughters face.

"Ok now I'm leaving don't forget to feed Meher you know how she is when it comes to food," said Teji leaving the room.

Heer sat down on the bed she wondered to herself "why do I get happy when I hear someone saying his name? "Why do I feel so proud when I hear someone complementing him? "God what happens to me whenever he is mentioned?

She was lost in her thoughts when she suddenly heard someone say "Boooo," in her ear.

She jumped up to see her sister sitting next to her laughing.

"Meher, you had to scare me didn't you?" said Heer pretending that she was angry.

"Ok forget about that and eat your breakfast maa has demanded that you finish it all," said Heer "and you know that can never say no to her,"

"As you say di," said Meher and she started eating her breakfast.

Heer was happy and ate her too.

It was now 8 am Heer and Meher had eaten their breakfast and had taken a shower each.

Heer went to the kitchen whilst Meher set the table.

By 9 am all the guests had started making their way down from their slumber.

Heer and Meher along with Teji went to the kitchen to bring the breakfast.

By 10 am all the guests had eaten their breakfast and had gone to their respective rooms to get ready.

"Heer you and Meher along with some other family members will be going to parlour, I have booked an appointment for 4,"said Teji.

"Jee maa we will be there," said Heer excitedly.

The whole day was very busy for Maan family.

They had people working everywhere.

At around 3 pm Gay3 Meher's to-be mother-in-law sent her dress for the henna ceremony.

Everyone gathered around to see it.

Everyone admired it.

"OMG, it is soooo beautiful, I can't believe that I'm going to be wearing it," said Meher admiring it.

"Meher, I must say you are very lucky," said Sonia a cousin of Heer and Meher's "I your henna dress is so beautiful then imagine how your wedding dress will look,"

"Haan haan now enough of the talking I want to all to go get changed in to your dresses so that the divers can take you to the parlour," said Teji.

"Jee," said all the together.

Heer and Meher went in to their bedroom.

Meher got changed in to her dress whilst Heer also put on her clothes which were:

"You don't look any less," said Heer putting her palm on her cheek.

The girls walked down stairs to see all the other girls standing there waiting for them to come.

"You both look very pretty," they all said in a chorus.

"Thank you," said Meher and Heer in unison "You all look very nice too"!!!

"Thank you," said everyone standing there.

"Should we leave now we are already getting late," said Heer.

"Haan, come on Heer di we are wasting time," said Meher.

All the girls left for the parlour eagerly waiting for the henna ceremony to start.
