Part 16B

He hoped he didn't. He walked down the stairs where the Phere had just begun. He went and stood next to Veera and threw flowers at the couple as they took the seven vows around the sacred fire.

He looked towards Heer. She was busy taking pictures of the wedding. It didn't look like she was planning on stealing the shoes.

He looked at the bride and groom. They completed their Saat Phere and now Preet and Meher were a couple. They were married!!

The priest declared the marriage and pronounced them as husband and wife.

They went to take elders blessings. Everyone happily blessed them. Then they came to Heer and Prem. Heer hugged Meher and gave Preet a side hug and Prem done the same.

Preet looked for his shoes but he couldn't find them. He looked at Prem to see if he knew where they were. Prem checked under the stage but he could not see them anywhere.

Then everyone turned to look at Heer, Maya and Ash. They all pretended to look innocent.

"We will only return you shoes when we get a gift from you," said Heer.

"Did you see that coming bhaiya?" asked Veera with a smirk.

Preet gave her a fake smile and put his hand in to his sherwani pocket. He scooped out a bundle and gave 50,000 rupees to each of the girls. They happily took the money and Heer ran upstairs to go and get the shoes. After about 5 minutes she came down the stairs with the shoes. She handed them to Preet and said "Nice doing business with you Mr. Juneja".

Meher said bye to everyone one last time before leaving. She sat in the limo along with Preet and they were off to the Juneja house.

Prem was driving the car. His thoughts flashed back to when he stopped Heer from falling. He then remembered her winking at him after he had accidently told her about the shoes. Now he understood why she had winked at him. She had hidden the shoes and that's when he had met her upstairs. Everything was beginning to become crystal clear for him.

He smiled and thought she's a nice girl; she looked so innocent when everyone looked at her for the shoes. She's an angel. There is innocence in her behaviour.

He smiled and kept driving. His mind was occupied by her thoughts he couldn't think of anything else.

"I'm glad the wedding went smoothly," said Maya.

"I agree, Meher was so happy," said Ash.

"Why wouldn't she be, after all she was marrying the man she loves," said Heer. "They have loved each other ever since the day they met"

"Prem is so cute too," said Ash. "I hope that he is single; do you think me and him would make a perfect match?"

"Ash, he lives in the UK, you never know he can have lots of girl friends or he may even be engaged," said Maya.

"But imagine if he wasn't," said Ash. "Do you think I would stand a chance?"

"Maybe," said Heer. "Now leave all this Prem talk and go to bed; tomorrow it the wedding reception and we don't want to go there with dark eye circle under our eyes.

Everyone laughed at the remark and decided it was better that they went to sleep otherwise they would get a good scolding from Heer.

All the girls hit the bed waiting for the next day to come.

After the welcoming ceremony everyone went to the hall where there were going to be some more ceremonies held. Kulraaj and Veera took Meher and helped her sit down and the games began.

Veera and Kulraaj took Meher to her room and waited for Preet to come. After a lot of teasing from everyone he made it up the stairs. He saw Kulraaj and Veera and thought "The teasing hasn't ended yet; we have the major teasers of the family waiting at my bedroom do. Wonder what they are going to do now"

He walked up to them and tried to open his door.

"Arre why the hurry," said Kulraaj.

"Di let me go, I am very tired please," he pleaded.

"Ok, under one condition," said Veera.

"What?" asked Preet

"You have to give both of us 10,000 rupees each," said Kulraaj.

"Ok, I'll give you anything I'm really tried and could fall asleep here," said Preet. He put his hand in his pocket and took out the remaining money.

"Sorry guys this is all the money I have left," said Preet.

"It will do," said Kulraaj.

They walked away and Preet opened the door to his room. There sat his wife who looked no less than an angel.

He walked over to her and smiled. He caught her eyes and she shyed away. He gave her a kiss on her cheek and she looked into his eyes. All she could see was love for her. She got out of the bed but he stopped her by holding her wrist. He pulled her back on to him. She landed on his chest.

Before she could say anything he pressed his lips on to hers and gave her a long passionate kiss. He helped her remove her jewellery and then switched of the light. The moon hid behind the clouds to give the new couple privacy.
