I know I have two ffs already, but I liked this concept so i am posting it. it is kind of scattered and hard to follow. Its basically just background now. If i get comments I will continue! 😉
Meher came down the stairs hesitantly, she looked at all the faces looking up at her, but at one face in particular. His face was blank as she had seen for the past few months. She remembered why she was doing this...her father. Her father who finally was able to treat her with affection the way he treated Heer. She broke out of her thoughts as Heer nudged her to move down the stairs.
Preet looked at Meher as she came down stairs. He felt nothing. He hardly felt anything for anyone anymore.
Harman brought out the rings for the couple as only the families were present for the small wedding ceremony. He had always like meher- she had helped him a lot at his law firm, but he wasn't sure how his younger brother was going to treat her. Preet wasn't in the right state of mind to be getting married. He felt this was unfair to meher, but he didn't voice his concerns.
Teji watched as Meher's hands trembled as she put the varmala on Preet. She was angry at Balraaj for selling his daughter like this. Balraaj had always treated meher with indifference, he unconsciously held her responsible for her mother's death. Teji married balraaj after the death of his first wife and she treated heer and meher as her own children. She was exspecially close to meher since she had never known her real mother. Teji's words before the engagement rang in his ears..." you are selling your daughter and she will happily so it just to hope that you will love her one day." He believed preet was a good boy. He did not consider the stigma for meher being a second wife.
