"Preet.."
"Meher tum!? Tum yahan kyun ayi ho? Agar kisine dekhliya toh!?"
"Preet main-" but Preet did not give Meher a chance to speak and she stared at him in shock as he lead her out of his room.
"Tumhe yahan nahin hona chahiye," and with that Preet closed the door on Meher's face.
"Preet!" Meher yelled ouside his room.
"I'm sorry pehle ki liye. Ab please darwaza kholo!"
After getting no response Meher kicked the door in anger.
"FINE! Ab main bhi tumse baat nahin karungi," Meher said loud enough to make sure Preet could hear.
"Pata nahin kya samajhta hain apne aap ko," Meher muttered to herself and left to her room.
"Kuch zyada toh nahin ho gaya hain?" Preet asked himself.
Five minutes later...
"Meher, Meher! Darwaza kholo please!!" Preet shouted at Meher's room.
He knocked at the door until meher finally opened it.
"Preet...why exactly are you banging at my door twelve at night!?" Meher said with her arms folded across her chest.
"I'm sorry for ignoring you before. There..happy now?"
"No. How can I be happy with you disturbing my sleep?" Meher said.
"And, what are you doing?" Meher asked as Preet took one long step and started closing in on Meher.
"Preet, mujhe lagta hain ke ab tumhe jaana chahiye," Meher said, backing up until she reached her bed.
"Aise kaise? Pehle tumhe meri apology accept karni paregi," Preet said coming closer.
"Maine tumhe maaf kar diya!.. Ab jao.." Meher said nervously, knowing that she could not back up anymore.
But instead of leaving Preet came close until both their bodies touched and they both fell back on the bed, Preet tumbling on top of Meher.
Meher could hardly meet Preet's intense gaze that was concentrated on her face. She felt her heart racing like she had just ran a marathon. Preet couldn't help admiring her shyness. He decided to tease her more. Meher almost shivered when she felt Preet's fingers travel down her cheek bone to her chin and tilt her face up. Only Preet could make Meher feel like this and when she finally met his eyes, all she could see was love. Meher found herself smile lightly. Nothing had ever felt so right for both of them and Preet wished that this moment could go on forever... until they heard a knock on the door!
Meher was brought back in her senses and tried to push Preet off.
"Preet! Darwaza pe koi hain!" Meher quickly said.
Preet realized what Meher said and regretfully got off Meher.
"Meher darwaza kholo,"
Preet and Meher both froze after hearing Heer's voice. Then all of a sudden got into action.
"Nahin wahan nahin yahan chup jao!"
"Yahan kaise Meher! Yahan pe bhabhi mujhe ek minute mein dekhlegi!"
"Acha toh wahan-"
"Meher itni dair kyun lag rahi hain?" Heer asked.
They both panicked, then finally Preet quickly hid under Meher's bed.
Meher quickly opened the door to let Heer in. Heer looked around suspiciously.
"Meher itni dair kyun lagai darwaza kholne mein?" she asked.
"Woh di main- main bathroom mein thi na isiliye," Meher quickly made up an excuse.
"Bathroom mein?" Heer asked confusedly.
"Haan. Woh chodiye aap bataye kya koi kaam tha?"
"Nahin woh main bas pani lene gayi thi kitchen mein aur mujhe koi awaz sunayi di yahan se," Heer told Meher.
"Awaz? Haan - woh toh maine TV on ki hua tha na..isiliye aap ko uski awaaz ayi hogi,"
"Oh. Acha main chalti hoon. nahin toh prem bhi mujhe dhoondte dhoondte a jayega.. Tum bhi soh jao," Heer smiled at Meher, then left.
Meher breathed a sigh of relief.
"Wow. That was a close one," Preet said startling Meher.
"Preet isse pehle ke koi aur a jaye. Just go now," Meher said to him. Preet was sad for a few seconds but then finally went to his room.
It's alright Preet. It's only a matter of a day or so and then these annoying gharwale won't be able to keep me away from my Meher, Preet thought to himself. And with that thought he went to sleep. :)
