CHAPTER-8

Heer woke up holding her head. She was feeling quite giddy and it was then she noticed the position she was in. She forgot to breathe for a second. She was with Prem in his room. The condition both were in, she understood that something happened last night.

She remembered bits and pieces of what happened. It was farewell party and she decided to confess her love to Prem. She's madly in love with Prem and didn't want to delay any further as the college ended and he'll be leaving in 2 days. She stood in a corner in the hall trying to gather courage to face him, when she saw him walking towards her. As he stood in front of her, she let herself drown in his eyes and she could make out that may be he was going through the same phase as her. She felt extremely happy but before he could open his mouth, some friends came and offered drinks pulling them to dance.

She danced with Prem for sometime and later both started to feel giddy. They walked out and ended up in his place, the rest of it she didn't remember. She was shocked to core to even think she did such a thing. She turned to see him. He was sleeping with a cute smile on his face. She ran fingers through his hair and kissed with on forehead. She loved him and mostly he did love her so she shooed away her bad thoughts and got dressed up. She couldn't face him like this. She'll meet him in the evening, then confess her love and tell him what happened. So she left from there silently.

She went back home and after a short nap got freshened. She decided to call him wondering he would have got up by now but the message unreachable was being repeated. She got surprised and dialed Neev who told him that he felt for Mumbai few hours back.

She felt the land under feet slip. Would that mean he betrayed her? Was he running away? All these thoughts frightened her but she tried to remain calm as she had confidence on Prem. She waited and waited but there was no message from him. Once she called to his home but the servant told him that he was out of station.

In the meanwhile, her parents got her marriage fixed with Rajveer, son of her dad's best friend. She tried to confront to her parents but couldn't and after the engagement she got another major blow. She got pregnant. She didn't know what to do. The only one who knew what was happening was Prachi. Prachi tried to get in touch with Prem but in vain. Her father's deteriorating health didn't help her much and her wedding day arrived.

Not knowing what to do, she left it to fate and got ready. She was sitting beside Raj on the mandap when she saw him finally. She hoped he would at least make some effort but all he did was congratulated her and left from there. The pheras started and she was praying to god to stop the marriage somehow. The last phera was about to happen when her father collapsed.

She went numb for a second. He was rushed to hospital immediately and was attended to by doctors. After sometime he was declared dead due to major heart attack. Both, she and her mother were shocked to hear this. Although he seemed weak in the past few days, the wedding had brought great happiness to him and then all of a sudden. Teji became a statue and Heer cursed her fate, she held herself responsible for all that was happening.

Today she saw the pain in his eyes when he stared at her angrily. She saw his hurt hand from far and guessed that he got to know something by the look on his face and when she agreed that Sid was his, she felt his inner happiness. Somehow she felt that she wasn't wrong. There was a connection between their hearts, he did love her. It was too late. He was getting married and she's no way going to destroy it. It was enough for her that he did love her. She could manage the rest of her life with that fact.

His family Sanjana everyone were so happy, she couldn't all their happiness. It was cursed for her to be sad, why them' She would leave from there as soon as possible. She went to sleep hugging Sid.

Next day Prem woke up from his sleep disturbed by the ringing of his mobile. He picked it up without checking the caller name.

Prem: Hello

"Prem.. is that you???"

Prem recognized the voice.

Prem: Neevvvv

Neev: Yes' sorry last night I couldn't pick up the call. Meri beti ko thoda bukaar aagay tha aur Prachi yahaan nahi thi toh..

Prem: Oh ab kaisi hai woh..

Neev: She's fine now.. Tum batao aise achanak' prachi ne bataya tumhari engagement ke baare mein but really sorry we couldn't make it..

Prem: Mujhe sab pata chal gaya Neev'

Neev: Premm ye tum kya kehrahe ho?? Kya pata chala??

Prem: Anjaan banne ki koshish mat karo' mujhe pata hai tum dono mujhe avoid kyun kar rahe the..

Neev: Premmm ye tum kya soch rahe ho??

Prem: Neeevv.. Heeeeeerr

Neev: Heer.. Heer toh khush hai Raj ke saath..

Prem: Aur kitne din aise jhoot bologe..

Neev: Tumhara matlab..

Prem: Heer meri shaadi ki wedding planner hai aur iss waqt woh yahaan hai Mumbai mein'

Neev: Premmm woh'

Prem: Tumne mujhse kyun chupaya Neev?? Kyun???????

Neev: Kyunki Heer yahi chahthi thi'

Prem: Par kyun???????

Neev: Prem tumhare uss din achanak se chale jaane ke baad bohut kuch hua hai.. Mein tumhe phone ke nahi bata sakta.. mein tumhe tumhare hotel mein miloonga dophar ko.. 11:00 a.m. ki flight hai meri.. mujhe kuch aur kaam hai wahaan'

Prem: Ok.. mein intezaar karoonga.

Prem got ready and had a quick breakfast. He rushed to the hotel and quickly attended to all the errands he had to. It was afternoon and Prem was waiting for Neev in his private chamber. Neev called him up earlier that he had checked into a room and would meet him soon.

Finally he came. Both of them met after ages. They exchanges pleasantries and commented they hadn't changed much. After few minutes of silence, Prem started the matter as he couldn't hold it anymore.

Prem: Neev pleaseee mujhe sach sach batao kya hua tha'

Neev told him everything.

How due to fault of some of their classmates, the drugged juices were taken by Prem and Heer and they both left to his place. He and prachi had stayed back in the hotel that night and had come late in the morning. They were shocked to see him leaving but he didn't even answer their questions and left in hurry. Later he got a call from Heer asking about Prem when he told her that he left. Later he too felt to his place while Prachi stayed back on the pretext of some work. When he was back, he got to know from the servant that it was Heer's marriage and Prachi was staying with Heer since the last week. So he went there and then found Prem.

After greeting the couple, he went to find Prachi. It was then Prachi told him that Neev what transpired between Prem & Heer that night and it was their servant who told her. So she confronted Heer when she let the fact out that she was pregnant. Heer was already engaged by then and she didn't know what to do. She told him that she tried to contact Prem a number of times but couldn't. He then told her that Prem came and both of them searched around the hall for him. Prem left by then and before they could leave to search, Balraj dropped down and had to be rushed to hospital. She lost her father. Somehow she managed to stand on her feet when her mother passed away too and she was left all alone. One day, Heer told that she was leaving and never to search for her. She also mentioned not to tell anything about her to Prem and left forever and from then on they didn't meet her again. They held Prem responsible for all that what happened with her and couldn't maintain relation with him as earlier. Whenever he called, they just talked formally and told that Heer was happy with Raj.

Prem: How could you hide all this from me Neev?

Neev: Heer's promise.

Prem: You kept the promise only to make her suffer for years. Here I was crying over the fact that I lost Heer and there she was bringing up my child' Neev if only you told me this years back,

Neev: I'm sorry Premmm

Prem: I can't sit and cry now. I have to do something. First let me call off this marriage.

Prem's mobile started ringing and it was Sanjana on line.

Prem: Sanju, I need to talk you.

Sanjana: Even I need to. Something very important, can I meet you right now in your cabin? I'm there already.

Prem: Ok I'll be there in few minutes.

Sanjana: Ok.

Prem: See you later Neev and thanks.

Neev: I'm really sorry Prem, I never knew you loved Heer.

Prem: I should have told you at least. May be things would not have been the same.

Prem left from there to meet Sanjana.
