often, i think that the greatest puzzle on earth is how how a hindi-tv serial managed to create such a superlative pair of lovers. i am seriously stuck for want of an explanation. 'cause the more i think 'bout 'em, the more i think that prem and heer are the most magnificent lovers i have ever seen in a story.

exactly!! we do have some exceptional lovers on hindi-tv. the problem arises because the intensity with which their courtship is shown diminishes once they are together. I am thinking with prem and heer we had them in their own skin - they remained true to their original characters even thought the story line was stupid. i guess thats what made them eternal and of course hopeless romantics like us.

yea..I don't lock my door either. There's more than one reason for this though: 1) I get easily scared at night. 😆 2) My parents refuse to let me lock it. It was something about them having to know everything about me..or something like that.😆

y'know, i'm curious. who are you thinking of as hindi-tv lovers who struck you? doyou mean as a pair that struck you as passionate and super in their courtship?

who are your favourites in this space?

the one that i thought were truly real, and had a tremendously real-place chemistry were raj-sudha in a show called "meri awaaz ko mil gayi roshni". the characters were unbelieveably sweet and real. there too, they eventually mostly mucked up the story (apparently to accomodate some saas-bahu poop against the odds -- 'cause the boy's mother was a true sweetheart unlike our young mr. juneja's step-mom.). but while they were on, they rocked.

there were the ott-drama couples -- where the drama keeps your nerves at the edge. and when the story drops, all that is left is having your nerves at the edge. angad-kripa (terrific chemistry, boring characters), lakshya-kt (terrific chemistry, terrific boy character, deadly dull girl character).

but as soon as their "courtship" was over, there was no diamond, just smoke left behind.

what was fascinating (as you say) about prem-heer is that no matter what poop they made of the story, prem-heer just shone. and shone. and shone.

argh! oh, no, no. i just can't do weddings. and i think i'm done with the kisses -- there are severe limitations on what i can do with a kiss, and i think you've seen all of it already.

i do/did have one epilogue in mind. and it's after all the weddings are over. i wasn't actually gonna finish it 'cause... well, i thought (a) it's gonna be corny and (b) this story is way too long anyway.

but *sleepy yawn* if i get it done by tomorrow evening, i'll post it. and that'll be the end. 😃 *yippee! 😃*

1) Your original thought - "a diamond in the ashes" - very nice...seems obvious as to what's following next.
3) While writing this, it came to me "ashes or diamonds"- will make one curious as to what's coming up in the chapter.

i like both of these -- probably better than ''ashes and diamonds''. but then, i keep hearing that song in my head... maybe i should just start flipping coins and chose based on how many tails i get? 😆
