sorry for the delay. hope you all like it. please comment. suggestions are always welcomed as they will help me to improve.

Chp 7

As R.j received the letter he searched the entire place in the hope he could find meher & stop her from doing this insanity.

After trying all the attempts that were unsuccessful he broke the news to vibha. She collapsed on the floor……….

On the other side, preet silently drove his car back to Mumbai from where he had booked 2 airline tickets to delhi. Meher was silent all the way thinking about how furious r.j & vibha would be on reading her letter & how they will face her parents, she didn't even dare to imagine the reaction of her parents because it would be far terrifying then her imagination. With all this thoughts storming in her mind she just kept staring out side the window.

Preet looked at her & was little surprised to know that even girls can remain silent & that too for so long. (From his experience of girls he believed that girls need to talk continuously) But then he wondered as to why she had not even asked him once about the whereabouts of her parents & her sis heer, but simultaneously he thanked her for not asking those questions as he had no answer to those questions.

While driving preet regularly threw short glances on meher, but meher had not even glanced at him once.

Finally on reaching Mumbai, preet parked his car near the hotel, he watched meher who was still lost in some thought for sometime; finally he called her

Mausam…. Mausam … noticing that mausam has not heard him he placed his hand on hers & gently whisper in her ears we have reached hotel,

Meher lost in her thoughts felt warmth of preet's hand on hers' as a deep masculine voice fell on her ears, she turned quickly & looked at preet in surprise & their eyes met (eye lock for 5 min).

preet gave a smile to meher & said - I know you are still upset about an accident but you will be alright within few days; I had a word with the doctor myself he has given me the list of medicines for you & than you will be alright. He said assuring her.

Meher was little afraid when preet told her about he having a word with doctor she wondered whether preet got to know the truth… but since preet didn't mention anything else she assumed that truth is not out.

While meher was thinking preet stepped out of the car & opened the door for meher.

"Come mausam, there's still 5 hrs for our flight to delhi, till then will stay in the hotel, & you can also rest for a while; I think you are tired a bit." Preet said while lending his hand to meher in order to facilitate her to come out of car,

Meher didn't notice that & she stepped out of car herself, preet disappointed as never a single girl he met had missed the opportunity to hold his hand ; & pulled his hand backward.

Meher walked past him; preet still confused at her behavior followed her.

As meher entered the hotel she remembered all the memories that she, r.j & vibha had spend in this hotel, it was vibha's favorite hotel & they would come to this hotel on every Sunday. She stood near the reception, preet quickly arrived there & asked receptionist – can I have the keys of room no. 405 I am preet juneja.

Receptionist handed over the keys to preet with a smile.

Preet seeing meher lost in thoughts again said, "I know the interior of the entrance is very good but I am sure you will love the arrangements & interior of the room as well once we get in the room. He said (he was sure that this statement would evoke a response) meher just threw a short glance at him, preet told her this way & she followed him.

When they entered the same room – preet said you freshen up while I order something for lunch I am sure I also must be feeling hungry. By the way what would you like to eat? (He asked thinking at least this time she would reply & he could hear her voice)

"One Russian sandwich," was all she said while entering the bathroom.

Preet gave the order,

When she came out preet said lunch is ready, she saw all that was on table - 2 punjabi sabji, 6 butter naan, papad, glass of lassi, one plale of pulav 3 types of pickles, one salad & one Russian sandwich.

She looked around the room as she was worried as to how many people are going to have lunch with them.

Preet - come on mausam sit quickly so that we can start having our lunch, little rats are dancing in my stomach!

Meher (thought to her, is he going to eat all this food?)But still sat on the chair in front of him and started eating her sandwich, she watched preet as he finished all the ordered food. (She thought to her, here I am not feeling like eating anything & he is eating like he has not eaten from days or may be even months.)

Preet this time was not bothered about anything & was enjoying his food.

After they had lunch,

preet – mausam you can rest for 2 hrs till we head towards airport.

Meher was uncomfortable with the idea that they are going to be together in the same room, (she actually needed some time alone where she can cry her heart out & there's nobody who can she her.) but she couldn't tell preet to leave as well.

Preet read those expressions on her face & told her – actually as it was the matter of just few hours I have not booked any other room (he cookrd up a the reason but actually he didn't wanted to leave meher alone as she was upset & he could sense it)

After some time they left for delhi in the plane. Preet kept on stealing glances at meher & meher fell fast asleep as she was tired.

Chp 8

Rampal mansion

R.j & vibha told everybody that meher has died in a car accident. They lied because they knew meher's parents won't understand anything & also they didn't know where to start from (that she is not into studing law but medicine.)They thought that first they would find meher & then reveal all the truth to the family.

But he started searching meher through secret means.

Juneja house (delhi)

Daljeet & her husband baldev & their daughter ashlesha came in hearing about their elder brother's death.

Seeing the wealth of lalit juneja they decided to stay there.

Ash made friends with veera as they both had same kind of nature. Also maya had come over as veera was her best friend. Also she wanted to keep an eye on Harman as she was always insecure about her relationship.

While coming home meher decided that as soon as she reaches home she will tell mausam's parents to perform heer wedding as early as possible & then quickly she can leave from there after telling them the truth about mausam's death.

When she entered the house; she saw all the people dressed in white clothes some weeping, some morning & in the middle of the house there were 2 photos one of woman & other of man. As soon as heer saw preet with meher she roused from her seat and came & hugged meher.

Heer – (crying) mausam, ma, bauji is no more with us.

Meher stood stunned & shocked. It seemed that she had lost words.

Heer told her how all the things happened. Meher stood there without uttering a word.

Meher fainted……

Meher opened her eyes she found herself in the room sleeping besides heer.

Heer was asleep. Meher closely observed her. She thought to herself what destiny has planned for her; her faced looked so innocent. She thought how she can ever gather courage to tell her that she has not only lost her parents but also her sister. Suddenly she realized how fortunate she herself was - she had everything in her life she was always surrounded by most wonderful people on earth – her parents, r.j & vibha while she was thinking this suddenly a tear rolled down from her eyes. And heer woke up; seeing meher crying she hugged her.

Heer – mausam don't ever thing that you are alone I your elder sister is always there with you. I have only you in my life now. We both are the only supporters of each other.

On hearing all this she made a decision -------

She will not leave heer or never reveal the truth till heer has all the happiness in her life.

Chp 9

Next morning……….

Preet came to meher's room on seeing meher still sleeping he went near her , sat on the bed beside her & placed his hand on her head gently, meher opened her eyes, he said "good morning", meher, hope you are feeling better now.

Meher didn't reply & just looked at him. Few mins Later, She told him if he could send a coffee through some maid.

Preet smiled & said our is the family that eats together, stays together and

Prays together.

We all are waiting downstairs for you for breakfast. Get ready & come down quickly.

Meher wore shorts & corset top & a jacket. As she came down all the family members were staring at her. As she came down heer grabbed her hand & said what are you wearing this is not the way girls of our family dress. As she told this……

bauji - heer beta, she is new to this family she will take time to adjust. It's ok if she wears this, our' is open minded family.

Veera & ash were shocked on hearing this as they were never allowed to wear those types of clothes.

All of them welcomed meher.

bauji said that today all will eat what is mausam's favorite. heer brought "muli ke parathae " saying that when mausam was small these were her favorite. All started eating & meher looked at the paratha in her plate & she thought how anybody can eat something like this! She stood up from the table & said I would just prefer a black coffee; please send it to my room upstairs.

All were disappointed & then bauji tried to handle the situation that maybe she has remembered her memories of childhood her ma, bauji; so she is sad & also we all are new to her she will take time to know about us, doesn't matter heer you just go & give coffee to her in the room.

Veera & ash were very upset with this. They just couldn't stand all this. Veera unable to control her anger anymore - "I don't understand why we are pampering mausam so much. You never mended rules for me or for ash even she is new in this family."

G3 – veera try to understand she has just lost her parents whom she had not seen for 10 years. She is still in deep shock, she just needs time. Now it's our duty that we make her feel at home and cheer her up.

Veera & ash walked out of the room.

Heer went to meher's room with a coffee & sat besides her she said I know that you are still very upset, but you need to understand that this family has done lots for us we are staying in their house than it's our responsibility that we respect their emotions.

Meher – I will keep in mind henceforth.

Preet, prem & Harman came to the room they said we all are going on Delhi darshan as ash & mausam are new to this city; they will surely enjoy.

While getting in the car maya quickly went with Harman as she wanted some privacy with him.

Preet had led prem & heer go alone so that they could spend some time alone.

Hence, now preet was left with ash, veera & meher.

Ash felt hot's for preet from the moment she saw him. So she always made some or the other excuse to be with preet.

Preet opened the front door of the car & offered the seat to meher. She accepted it. Veera & ash didn't like it.

All the way preet continued to charm all the girls with his jokes & his trademark one liners. But meher didn't even give a smile. Preet wondered all the time as to what in the world can make her happy.

They all enjoyed the whole day. All were very disappointed with meher's behavior.

Chp 10

At night ……..

Harman in his room was thinking about meher. Her mysterious behavior had made him feel attracted towards her. He desperately wanted to make friends with her, know more about her.

Preet lying on his bed thought what is that in the world he can do to make mausam happy.

Here, maya, vaara & ash were all unhappy & jealous of meher as she was gaining sympathy in house & lots of attention from all the male members of the family.

Meher & heer were in the room where heer was arranging clothes.

Meher- di, do you like prem?

Heer – what? What are you talking about?

Meher – I want an answer, yes or no?

Heer – yes, he is good very understanding, after the death of our parents he supported me well. He took great care of me. But I still don't know what he thinks about me?

Meher made an excuse to heer that she is feeling hungry so she is going to the kitchen & went to prem's room.

Prem was reading a novel – "Way to girl's heart"

He was so engrossed in the book that he didn't even realize that meher had come & was sitting on the bed next to him.

meher – it's a nice book. It gives good understanding & logical reasons for your girl's behavior. It's a useful aid in improving one's relationship.

Prem – looked out of his book, & was surprised on seeing mausam in his room at that time.

Prem – oh! This book, I wasn't feeling like sleeping, so was just reading, (he said while trying to hide the book; just little embarrassed on being caught red handed.)

Meher – oh! I am glad that you came across this book, it's amazing.

Prem – you have read it? It seems...

Meher – oh no…. no…. I just read the title & those expressions that were on your face while you were reading this book. It seemed that you were thoroughly enjoying reading every word written in this book & simultaneously thanking the author & publisher for coming up with something like this.

Prem didn't know how to react & what to reply.

Meher (continued further) so …….. Are you trying to impress a girl?

Prem – no ……

Meher – surely you must be having some girlfriend in the past, some affair, some crush?

Prem – no….. Not at all. All this years I was very busy with business.

Meher (had already known it from preet but just wanted to conform it.)

Meher- well, I just heard that bauji, wants you & heer di to get married; Infact your dad made that promise as well.

Meher noticed a blushing expression on prem's face. So she assumed that he also liked heer. In order to conform she continued further.

Meher – but I think its insanity, (she saw the blushing expression replaced by the expression of surprise) I mean you have been brought up in Canada & heer di over here. You have so many differences.

In fact I was just sharing the same thing with heerdi that you both are like two opposite poles.

Suddenly there was a tension on prem's face & he quickly said, "but opposite pole attract each other, & people with different personality compliment each other."

(Suddenly looking at meher's face) he realized that what he just said was giving an insight to his feelings.

He continued – well, many people support this theory. By the way what's your di's view on this?

Meher – yeah, you both are feeling the same way, so it seems that you both are attracted towards each other & if married would compliment each other.

So………. when you proposing my di?

Prem understood that meher has read his heart & so he confessed that he loves heer but is unaware of what heer thinks.

Meher said with the chuckle, so you were taking help from that book.

Well I can help you with this problem. Well there's a green signal ahead so you can go in super fast speed.

Preet, bauji, g3, Harman all were enjoying prem's & meher's conversation & were amazed by meher's skills of communication.

All with big smile entered the room …

Bauji – mausam beta, tumhne to aaj kamala kar diya, hum log kitne dino se jo pata nahi laga paye voh tumhne 15 min mein pata kar liya.

Preet quickly added, "Till now nobody is able to trap p.b but you did it that too in such a short time."

(Meher was also happy & thought that tomorrow she will tell bauji to fix their marriage date & sooner the marriage sooner she can leave. She was missing r.j a lot. Finally there's one common reason between juneja's & me to be happy.)

chp 11

Wedding preparation was in full swing, all were happy. In all these days meher had maintained distance with everybody, she hardly got involved with anybody or communicated with anybody. She used to just keep on reading books online.

Ash & preet had become friends, always playing pranks on each other, & meher used to laugh on ash's intelligence. She always thought how a girl can be so foolish, & heads over heels in love for a boy, ash would never leave preet alone making sure that he doesn't even think of mausam. Meher also enjoyed the ways in which preet would find ways to get rid of ash.

Maya was trying hard to keep her temper & adjusting to the family rules. meher sympathized with her as even she was finding it difficult but always controlled her mind as it was the matter of just few more days.

Harman was constantly trying to find a balanced & safest way to handle maya & his business. Meher used to laugh & felt pity for him.

Then suddenly prem had a call from Mumbai that there was an urgent meeting with the business partner & he needs to come. He first told preet, to attend the meeting, but pret refused as he wanted to enjoy his p.b marriage & more over he wanted to make his p.b's marriage memorable for all, so he was supervising all the preparations himself.

So prem decided to go, initially bauji was unhappy but prem insisted because that project could give new boost to preet's career. And prem left for Mumbai for 2 days.

On the day of marriage every body was waiting for prem to come. Prem was coming by plane. All the men from family went to the airport to receive prem, on the airport they were informed that the plane has crashed. And authorities have send help to the people there, but there is an assumption that very less people has survived.

Meher was with heer on this special day, all the girls were teasing heer. Suddenly meher thought of calling preet just to find out where they have reached.

She tried preet's no… it said that phone is out of reach. Then she thought of giving a final try. She called ……… preet on seeing the no flashed on the cell phone couldn't gather the courage to answer it; But somehow answered it. Preet voice was indicative of, that he was on the verge of crying. Meher asked from other side where they have reached before she could realize his tone while she had just asked the question some kids in the house had switched on the t.v she saw the news of plane crash she said to preet that she is coming there.

Within no time she reached the hospital that was mentioned in the news & located preet, he was very frightened, unable to speak a word but his eyes spoke. Meher saw the site it was not new to her as she was a doctor she was used to see people coloured in blood, but somehow sensed that preet was feeling uneasy at the site. Meher went near him & gently placed her hand on his just the way he had done before. She whispered in his ears "everything will be fine; God can't be so harsh on us."

Preet collapsed on the hospital lobby & broke down, tears falling from his eyes; he said p.b is no more." Nothing's gone be ok."

Meher couldn't believe & before she could say a word bauji & harman were come with the inspector & prem's dead body. They all headed towards home. All the people tried to console heer. Meher didn't dare to go near her; she was afraid & actually didn't know how to react; she never in her life time had faced such pain or situations. She thanked her parents in her heart for protecting her so well. & realized how fortunate she was.

Next morning meher accompanied Harman to the police station to complete the formalities, even Harman was not in the state of mind so she thought she would accompany, (maybe because she was the only one who was not so emotionally attached to everybody she was in a little more in a better position to handle the situation.)

When they came back she saw bauji was brutally biting preet with a stick & cursing & blaming him for prem's death. All the family members were standing there & none of them stopping bauji.

Chp 12

Meher ran & caught hold of stick from bauji's hand. All the family members stood stunned, bauji told meher not to come in between but meher said –"when my parents died you said it was destiny, so prem's death is also destiny." Bauji left the room in anger hearing those words. Meher stared towards the entire family member's, her eyes asking why they all let this injustice happen to preet, everybody unable to face preet & meher went from there. Ash went from there so that she can win bauji's heart by not supporting meher.

Preet was lying on the floor crying, meher went near him & took his head in her lap, and she gently placed her hand on preet's forehead & tried to calm him down. Preet tried to get up but he had got so much of hurt that he wasn't able to get up on his own, meher helped him & took him to his room. Preet was trying to avoid looking at meher.

Meher understood that preet was trying to avoid her, but leaving preet alone at this time would be like giving way to more of negative thoughts in this mind. All she thought important thing at the moment was to make preet understand that he is not responsible for prem's death.

She gently kept her hand on his but preet took his hand away.

Preet –leave me alone; I don't deserve any kind of sympathy.

Meher – do you really want me to leave you alone?

Preet looked at her.

That was exactly what meher wanted. Then she said.

Meher – how can I leave you alone, when u didn't leave me when I needed you?

Preet – I am not sympathizing with you I am empathizing with you.

Hearing her words preet hugged her, indicating that he needed emotional support.

Slowly meher also wrapped her arms around him, as tears were escaping from preet's eyes she hugged him tightly. She led preet cry because sometime crying is the only thing that helps. They stood there in each others arms for unknown time.

Then when preet calmed down a little, meher made him sit on the bed.

Before she could say anything preet said – I am sorry mausam, I treated you so rudely.

Meher – preet, I understand u were upset, you were furious with yourself. & your mind just displaced your anger on me. It's just a simple psychology. You don't have to be sorry for that.

Preet – but that doesn't mean …………….

Meher – (interrupting him) preet, I want to thank you.

Preet – thank me? (His eyes full of confusion)

Meher – yes, thank you for doing things for bauji that no one else can do.

Preet – yes, I have taken his beloved son for him. (his voice filled with guilt)

Meher – no, you have taken his pain, anger, frustration out of him.

Preet looked at meher in surprise.

Meher – have you ever noticed that whenever u tease or play pranks on him, he enjoys it, he also becomes a kid. You have kept his childhood alive.

& the person, who has kept his father's childhood alive, can never be the reason of death of his father's adulthood.

Meher took preet's face in the cups of her hands & said preet, bauji is frustrated with himself because he couldn't fight with destiny for his son's life. He just displaced his anger on you; just like you did. He will be normal soon.

Acha, preet I will bring some ointment, saying this she left the room.

Preet sitting on his bed was remembering what meher said. He felt that meher was right.

Then all the images from past; when he had first met her, her almond eyes and the innocence on her face, the way she had laned in his arms, the way they had looked into each others eyes……….

Preet , preet , preet ….. meher said thrice but preet was lost in his thoughts. When he saw meher in front of him he got lost in the same innocence, those deep eyes, her lips perfectly lined.

Meher got irritated & she said slightly raising her voice, preet stop staring at me like that, it's just an ointment & not an injection.

Injection… ointment?? Preet repeated just coming out of his thoughts & little confused; Then he noticed the ointment in meher's hand, & got what meher was saying. He secretly thanked god, for mausam not understanding what he was thinking.

Meher – take off your t-shirt.

Preet – what???

Meher – relax preet! I will not cause any harm to your virtue. Your virtue is safe when I am around.

Smile broke at the corners of their mouth as meher said this.

Preet – but mausam I don't need this, I am alright.

Meher – preet I am the dr. so I will decide whether u need ointment or no & not you.

You….. dr? preet asked in surprise.

Meher realized her mistake, she quickly said, I mean right now you can see me as your dr. & allow me to apply this ointment on your wounds.

Before preet could say anything more, meher started pushing his t-shirt up so that she could see the stick marks on his back & apply the ointment.

Preet was little uncomfortable initially he thought to himself how reserved, introvert person mausam was, how she had always kept distance from everybody, if anybody would have told him 1 week back that mausam & he would be together & that too at night in his room & mausam would be applying some ointment on his bare back he would have moked at that person, but now it was reality. As he was thinking he realized a burning sensation on his back;

Preet yelled – mausam what the hell are you applying? It's burning,

Meher – preet shut up! & stop yelling. Its quarter to 12 at night & everybody is fast asleep.

Preet – mausam do you think that I love to yell at this time, I am shouting out of pain, can't you understand? (He said but this time in little softer tone)

Meher came forward now facing preet she looked into preet's eye's & said…

See I told you u weren't alright, & now you realized that I was right.

Preet got irritated – bingo! You understood me right, you can demand your prize tomorrow, but right now can you please do something to stop this burning sensation. I am dying out of pain.

Meher – relax, it will last for just few more minutes.

Preet – just few more minutes! I will dye by that time!

Meher – stop over reacting, nobody has died till now of this kind of burning sensation. And if you died; you will be the first, & I will surely make your death famous by suing the company. Now turn backward I have to apply this medicine on your shoulder.

Preet – no don't you even think of it, you have already applied enough of it. No more of it thank you.

Meher – preet hold something you will feel better, you will be able to bear the pain, but please understand & cooperate.

Preet just saw meher in front of him & hugged her tightly & said do what you wished to, but fast.

Meher thought if anyone else would have done this in hospital, she would have made it sure that person dies out of this burning sensation.

Then she realized that preet was really in pain & was afraid of this medicine.

As she applied the medicine preet hugged meher even more tightly.

He felt the warmth of her, his fingers as if not his went between her silky hairs. He could smell the fragrance of the soap which she had used. He was loosing himself in her. He no longer felt burning sensation or realized that meher was applying that dreadful ointment.

He felt meher's fingers snaking in his hair, her lips on his ear lobe, and her voice in his ears…

Meher – preet you will be fine! I have applied the ointment. As she said this she started pulling herself away from preet.

Preet fought with his urge to stay in her arms, with their bodies pressed against each other, & pulled himself back.

Preet I will just be back in a moment. Meher said.
