HAPPY BIRTHDAY Maddy! đ đ¤đ¤
"Where is he?" Maddy whispered to herself as she slowly made her way down into the dark room. If there was one thing she hated it was darkness. On top of everything were these damn heels that she decided to wear just because they matched so nicely. They also made her feet look dainty, but no one had to know that, she giggled as she glided down the stairs, the banister guiding her every step.
Lafzon Mein Keh Na Sakun
Bin Keh Bhi Reh Na Sakun
He was standing behind the magenta colored drapes watching her take step after step. She really was his own personal angel. If only he could tell her though.
Manav wasn't sure of what Madhuri felt for him. Yes he called her that despite her nickname of Maddy. He felt that Madhuri really defined her. She was 'sweetness' down to the core. It was one of her qualities that caused him to fall in love with her in such a short time. She was so kind and compassionate that it made everything in life simpler for him. He knew right then that she was the one he was destined to be with.
He could only hope that HE was the one SHE was destined to be with as well.
Nasha Hi Nasha Raat Din Hai
Na Pucho Yeh Kaisa Pyar Hai
Lafzon Mein...
The way the soft light emitted from the candle...shining on her perfectly as it lit up her beautiful face, accenting her eyes.
There was something different in her smile tonight, something that showed him maybe she was expecting the same things out of this night that he was and maybe what he would say to her today would be reciprocated.
Lafzon Mein Keh Na Sakun
Bin Keh Bhi Reh Na Sakun
He watched her frown as she neared the end of the stairs and look around. He hid again and smiled to himself knowing that she was as impatient about this night as he was and now he'd see how long he could go without going near her.
Every time he saw her looking lost or lonely reminded him of the first time he had seen her. She had been waiting for a bus just like he was and she was the only one who had an umbrella all to herself. Taking pity on him she smiled as she gestured for him to come under her umbrella. It was from that moment that he knew. Their friendship would turn into something more.
Halki Si Barsaat Mein,
Pehli Mulakat Mein,
The sweet smile on her face and the bright zing in her eyes had enticed him from the first moment. Even in the dreary weather she was dazzling. It was as if the rain drops on her face made her feel even more alive.
He didn't know why he had been so attracted to her in that one glance, but there was something in the way her eyes looked at him and the way she gestured to him and the way it had to be today that he forgot his umbrella. God was giving them a chance to understand his actions and it seemed like Manav already had.
Pehli Hi Baar Mein
Dil Ko Mere Le Gayi,
He couldn't take it anymore. He hated torturing her like this and so he stepped out of the shadows and smiled as her face lit up.
"Manav! Kahan the?"
Manav shrugged. "Sorry I'm late Madhuri. Forgive me?"
"Am I ever upset with you?" She smiled and shook her head before leaning into him for a hug.
He sighed as he could inhale her scent of floral. She always smelled like a garden and that allured him even more towards her.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
She hated not seeing him for this long. He was the one person in the world that made her feel as beautiful as she could ever be.
Manav. Even saying his name over and over brought a smile on her face.
She was sure that this feeling wasn't strictly friendship anymore but she couldn't help but wonder if he'd feel the same way.
Their friendship itself was so perfect she was afraid of jeopardizing it by saying three little words.
Three little words that had the ability to change her whole life. For better or for worse.
Chahat Ke Ikrar Mein
Anjaana Gham De Gayi
Manav smiled as he tucked a stray strand of her hair behind her ears. "You look amazing. Just like a birthday girl should."
She blushed at the compliment. "Manav, you never miss a moment do you?"
"Couldn't if I tried Madhuri." He wished there was some way he could make her believe that she really was the most beautiful person he had ever seen and probably would see but for right now, that could all wait.
"Would you like to dance?" he asked, stepping back slightly to offer her his hand.
Aayi Jab Saamne
Jaane Kyun Woh Darr Gayi
He saw her bottom lip tremble as she raised her hand slightly to put it into his and he shook his head.
She had no idea what she was doing to him by hesitating. Sure of himself he took her hand in his and saw the surprise in her eyes but the smile reflected on her face in a few moments again.
Paagal Mujhko Kar Gayi
Janeman Janeja
He loved her and he wanted to tell her. Right now as they swayed to the soundless music. They didn't even need any music. The rhythm of their bodies was enough for them. He'd lead she'd follow. As simple as could be.
Na Jaane Kya Baat Hai
Laage Ki Din Mein Raat Hai
"Madhuri, I want to say something to you,"
"To bolo," She leaned her head back and smiled. "What are you waiting for?"
"The perfect moment." He smiled at her as he led her towards the large window.
It was words like this that gave her hope that maybe he felt the same way about her that she did for him and it also gave her a sense of confidence of keeping her hand in his even though they had apparently reached their destination.
"Do you see the rain?" He asked.
Madhuri smiled as she leaned out to check and sure enough there was a light drizzle.
"Do you see any buses?"
"Manav?" She turned and asked.
He simply shrugged before nodding towards the window again.
She shook her head before looking down at the street and her face lit up the minute her eyes landed on the bus directly underneath them.
I love you Madhuri,
Nayi Hai Subah To Nayio Shaam
Ajab Haal Mera Yaar Hai
"Manav?" She smiled as she turned to face him.
"Before you say anything can I speak?" She nodded and so he started again. "I wish I could say that the love happened suddenly but the truth is Madhuri, it happened from the first moment I laid eyes on you. I could feel it then but now I feel it even stronger. We were meant to be together from that day forward and I just hope you give me the chance to be your best friend even though I am unmistakably in love with you."
Madhuri smiled and blushed at his choice of words before feeling his hand pull at hers.
"Jawab nahin dogi?"
"Jawab mere chehre pe nahin hain?" She asked cheekily. "Of course Manav," she threw her arms around his neck before letting a few tears fall. "You don't know how long I've waited for you to say that. Why didn't you say anything before?"
"I couldn'tâbut now it was the perfect time. Happy Birthday Madhuri," he leaned down before letting his lips meet hers in a soft kiss.
