Called up Jannie & what I told u in the morning & for the past so many days that is exactly what she said!
I spoke to her & she clearly stated we HKG office can't do anything about decision making in India SP programming dept, u send me emails & I can forward ur mesgs to them. That is all we can do. SP India reports to us about marketing & data's not about their programming. They have the authority & r not answerable to us.
Moreover she said the audience ought to support the channel because after all they cater to their shows. They r doing their level best to please the audience. Obviously I had to cut her in & politely tell her that they r doing just the opposite. They r shifting the # 1 show in that time slot to the afternoon, which channel would do that? And why is our show targeted? Is it because of the differences existing between the channel & production house? I referred to my past emails to Murdoch, uday cc'ing her where I had given all accounts of the correspondence. She said yeah she is aware of it & saw the response of Uday as well. She again kept saying that they r doing their best & need the support from us. I found I was stonewalled by her responses today.
Then I requested her for the repeat at late night 11pm or anytime that suits the channel because the repeat times r very odd & we the young adults won't be able to watch it. She asked me to write an email & send it to her which she will forward to Indian team. I told her there r 100's & 1000's of emails that r going everyday to SP, its not a news to them, they r already aware of our requests. To this she said u r calling for 1 show, because of 1 actor or so whom u like whereas the whole country is willing to watch the shows of SP eagerly. We have to cater to all of them.
I specifically mentioned that KDM is the only show worthy to watch now in SP & the huge fan base of the show will boycott SP from Aug 5th because of the stubborn & rude attitude of SP, I as a viewer feel neglected, disrespected & disappointed. To this she urged me to watch other shows which might be to my taste, I should give it a chance because the channel is doing well with them, the usual pep talk! I could tell she has no clue about anything about SP shows in India so she is giving stereotyped answers.
When I asked her what can we do to atleast get a repeat at a decent time all she said again was send me an email & I will forward to them, its difficult to just record a conversation & send to India. Rest she can't do anything else.
And today from the conversation I gathered maybe SP India has given them some strong replies as to stay away from all this because I could gather that from between her lines . She kind of meant because I watch only KDM so I am calling about it whereas the rest of the population r fine with the whole programming. I am positive India SP kuch patti parayi hai isko!!
Bottom line she can't do anything nor does she have any direct numbers or emails with whom we can correspond about this. All u can do is send her an email & she will forward it.
I don't think HKG will be of any help to us in this regard. I could detect this from her tone & attitude.
Sorry about this but there u have it. U can try calling urself & see if she says anything different!!
