maya! wow, a whole maya-post! i have seriously hit pay-dirt on timing today! đ
actually, i have thought that ag has always got heer spot-on. somehow (if i allow my mind to reconstruct a possible past) i think she came in as a spunky person, given this chance totally randomly, and she decided to give it her all. that is what i like abt her. Yup, she had heer spot on, i think, in every way except in her dialogue delivery.
i've always thought that in the beginning of the show, they just had very strong prem-scenes and prem-dialogues -- like the story was set up to start the love story with a strong prem, no? heer's character was the reactionary one at that time. heer just didn't have that much screen space -- and i thought that was the correct thing for the story. hmm never thought of it that way... think you are right!
and i thought ag played her superbly. i remember the old heer -- the very first one. the almost animal-like quietness. with only those big-big eyes being allowed to say anything at all. and i thought she was perfect even then. i knew that she was perfect when i realised that i could never want to be heer -- and yet, i loved and respected the character immensely. the simplistic village girl who has so much control on the quietly charismatic mr. prem juneja. like the way you word this. yes, i thought she had the shy, demure girl to the T and for a new comer she could make her eyes speak and i was like wow.
at that time, i thought that hc's prem came off as a much more .. polished presentation in comparison with ag's heer. like he knew what angles to present, or how to bend his head just so in front of ag's heer, to make our hearts sing. and that was also expected -- he had lots of acting exposure earlier. this was just the one in which he was the lead. and he was superb at taking that chance and running with it.
yes, he he was at that stage of his career where he understood the camera angles etc.
ag's heer on the other hand is more ''real''. she doesn't shirk from looking non-charismatic when she cries. or indeed shirk from making us wince when she blazes with anger at anyone. i have never seen anyone who looks ''pleasant'' under strong emotions like anger or sorrow. and i adore that ag's heer doesn't either! she is totally amazingly rawly honest -- and i adore that. you hit the nail on the head. that is what i like the most about ag. she is all there in all the emotions as heer she is not trying to project an image but just living heer internally and externally she is not into making sure that she looks perfect in the mirror (except for her hair đ) she has a certain earthiness abt her that I like.
but at the end of the day, i truly truly loved best how hc-ag made that prem-heer magic sing together. personally, i love how they act off each other most -- and this has been true from the first that i've watched them. i could never understand liking hc as an actor or ag as an actor individually -- 'cause i really couldn't break 'em apart in my head. me too! that is how i started out. they were premeer. and i hated and i still do how one of them is given more credit than the other and how in an underhanded manner one is 'promoted' over another.
so for me? i think that while both hc and ag are ''intelligent'' actors -- they're all brain, imho -- but ag's the more bold of the two. i agree. i just mentioned ag because she has come a long long way - i believe. hc is undoubtedly talented and i somehow doubt he will just do acting. he has the focus to get into directing if he so wishes. he has the focus needed and the internet fan network support that people close to him help start and are cleverly managing without ruffling any feathers. but it is still ag that has tugged at my heart strings. i like girls/women making it on their own...the feminist in me đ
what d'you think?
