Rink groaned as she made her way into the house, completely drenched in the rain. "Why does it ALWAYS have to rain here in Mumbai?" She muttered as she closed her umbrella and set it down by the entrance of her friend's house.
"Oye Nupur ki baachi!" She shouted as she walked through the lobby. "Kahan ho?" She shook her head as she sat down peacefully in the living room. "Ek to khud mujhe bulati ho aur phir gayab hojati ho," Rinki looked back towards the door and got a confused look on her face. I wonder how the door was open. Where IS that girl? While still waiting for Nupur to come back Rinki survey's the whole apartment and then hears some noise coming from upstairs. "Is somewhere there?" she mutters to herself. "Oh maybe it's just Nupur."
Rinki quickly got up and made her way up the stairs, hoping to see her friend Nupur somewhere around. Being in her friend's house without her made her feel anxious; this wasn't normal AT ALL. She knew Nupur was kind of out of it occasionally, but this was different. Rinki felt a bit scared as she got closer to the noise.
"Excuse me?" she whispered into the darkness, afraid of switching the light in case something went wrong*
"Whose there?" She heard a voice ask but what surprised her the most was that it wasn't a girl's voice. There was something about this voice. It made her spine tingle, and even left her toes feeling a bit tingly.
"I came here first," she spoke into the darkness and heard laughter in response. "Something funny?"
"Well I've been here long before you, and to me it seems YOU'RE the intruder!" The voice accused.
"Well excuse me!" Rinki felt a bit offended now. She was in her own friend's house. "This is my friend's house. What are you doing here?"
"This is getting old," the voice muttered, and then suddenly there was a flash and the person who the voice belonged to was holding a cell phone close to her face.
Rinki was stunned. He was much taller than her, and his mouth was curled up into an alluring smile. She wasn't quite sure why but she wanted to smile back, just to see what would happen next—but then what he said startled her.
"Not bad—"
"S'cuse me?" Rinki retorted pushing him away. "What do you mean?"
"I—uhh..." He stuttered, and stepped away from her, flicking the light in the process.
"What happened?" Rinki asked crossing her arms. "No answer now?"
"That's not true," He smiled stepping closer to her again. "I'm gonna ask you again—what are you doing here?"
"You know you could answer that as well because as far as I know—" Rinki casts him a look from top to bottom. "You're definitely not Nupur."
He laughed again, making her smile. "You have an observant eye,"
"I do indeed," She grinned back at him.
Suddenly they both heard a loud bang coming from downstairs and they both went to the banister to go check.
"Nupur!" Rinki exclaimed. "Where the heck have you been? Tum bhool gayi kya? Ke tumne mujhe aaj bulaya hain?"
Nupur held both her ears, looking up at both of them. "Sorry yaar. I had to go run an errand. So I see you two have met?"
Rinki and the guy both quickly glanced at each other and then he answered. "In a way," he tilted his head to the side.
"In a way?" Nupur asked. "Matlab?
"Mile bhi hain—aur nahi bhi." He winked down at Nupur.
"Bhaiyya! Aap bhi na!" Nupur shook her head and went into the kitchen.
"Bhaiyya?" Rinki turned to him and asked.
He backed up and leaned against the wall in a 'sexy' manner while nodding. "I'm Preet."
Preet...That was a really nice name and it really seemed to suit him. "Nice to meet you,"
She just about turns around to go when a hand grabbed her and pulled her back. "You never said your name," He whispered in her ear, leaving her feeling breathless.
"Oye Rinkz! Get down here," Nupur called up.
Rinki pulled away from him, blushing at that thought of her being so close to him.
"Rinkz? Short for something?" He smiled.
"Rinki," she answered.
"That's pretty. It seems to suit you," He grinned, making her tingle again.
She shook her head, while about to walk down again to join Nupur.
"Wait," he called out.
"Kya?" she turned back and asked.
"Can we go out sometime?" He winked at her.
"What?" She asked, completely confused that he could be so blatant.
"Can....we....go...out...sometime?" Preet enunciated for her.
Rinki narrowed her eyes and slapped his shoulder. "I understood it the first time! I was just making sure I heard it right."
"Well?" Preet asked.
Rinki goes down the stairs and then looked up at him from the bottom of the stairs and nodded.
"For what?" He leaned on the banister and raises his eyebrow.
"To go out..." She winked at him and walked away.
Preet grinned as he saw her disappear in the kitchen. There was something about this girl—she was different than all the other girls he met and that made him realize maybe that old saying was true. 'Somewhere someone is made for you...'
*cringes* So how was that? 😳 I really hope Rinki likes it! 😃 *hugs for her*
