In most of the shows, we usually see few of the characters talking about how love/heart relationships are bigger than blood relations. Then why can't they stick to their word throughout the show, i.e., Gayatri? Amnesia much?

Btw, what do you guys think? Can heart relationships (dil key rishtey) be bigger(not literally 😛) than blood relations?
