hi my uncle makes serials, they own a production company so i can answer this, when i went to india belive me shooting is one of the most boring things ever the sets may appear to look big but they are not the houses are tiny. and here are the answers to your questions
1) it really depends on the time the actors come as many do come late and for 1 scene to be shot even if its a minute takes time to prepare as you need the right lighting, camera angles etc.... the setting up for the scene takes longer then shooting the actual scene but most of the time they do need a couple of retakes to okay a shot and if they sound from the mic doesnt come out good then they call the actor in to the office to re dub the scene
2) the bad thing about india is that they do not have a bank of epidsodes so they sometimes shoot the same day for what will be aired that night but usually a day or two before is more likey the case but since some actors dont have dates and lets say they work only 20 out of 30 days they shoot all their required footage for that month within the time period, and thats why sometimes the story does not make sense suddenly if a actor gets sick or whatever since they dont have a bank of episodes
3)they usually wear the same make up especially the foundation the whole day as it is really expensive including the guys they just touch up on it and the girls especially are addicted to combing there hair non stop during breaks
4) they do get a lunch/dinner break but they basiclly get a break when ever a scene is being set up as long as they know the lines for the next scene
5) they basiclly wear the same clothes every day if they r gonna wear the same costume on screen, but the only thing the actors have to bring are shoes thats why sometimes you see actresses wearing clothes that dont match with their shoes or what ever
6) no they come when they are required on the set they all have different timings its usually the leads who are there for that many hours unless if the other actors have more parts but the less time you are on screen the less time you are on the set but sometimes they do have to wait for the other scene to finish shooting and for their scene to be set up
7)basiclly in india its up to the parents to set the rules no one follows rules in india like the bhalika vadoo main child stars may be working long hours but the normal child stars are not on screen as much there working hours are not a lot and most go to school as schooling on the set are not that popular in india
hope this helps anyother question feel free to ask me
