Chapter 1

Heer's point of view.

"NAHIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I woke up with a startle, wiping off the sweat on my forehead when I realized I'm having those dreams again. They've been haunting me for the past few months. I don't even know what it has to do with me, but I always happen to hear my name or rather see my self in it, which totally freaked me out. It's like I'm getting separated from someone…oh well their just nightmares, I could really care less about them.

Just then my mom arrived and frantically started asking me questions, such as if I was okay or not…*sigh* typical moms.

"Heer Puttar…tu theek toh hai na???" said my mom.

"Don't worry mama…main theek hoon…bas vahi ajeeb se sapne aate rehete hain mujhe" I explained.

"Pata nahin yeh kaise sapne tujhe aate rehte hain…mujhe toh bahaut chinta horahi hai puttar…should I take you to the doctor?

"Mama…I already told you…I'm fine…seriously…it's just probably all the stress and work from college…so please don't worry about it" I persuaded.

"Haan shayad tu theek keherahi hai…khair yeh sabh baatein chodo…mein tujhe ek khush khabri bataane aayi hoon!" my mom said excitedly, literally jumping up and down. I was like "oookay mama…a little too excited much??"

"Accha? Kaunsi kush khabri…?" I asked anxiously.

"Tujhe yaad hai…bachpan mein, jab humlog Ludhiana mein rehte the…tere papa ke sabse acche dost jinko tu Lalit Chachu bulaati thi?? Yaad aaya?....arre jinke bete Prem ke saath tu khelti thi bachpan mein!!! Woh log aaj move kargaye yahaan par Chicago se…as in our next door neighbors!! Can you believe that??...asal mein toh woh log kal hi shift hogaye the..lekin aaj meine unko dinner ke liye bulaaya hai…almost pandra (15) saal hogaye unko dekhe huey…tere papa toh bahaut hi khush hain!!!" My mom declared delightedly.

"Really mama?? Wow…yeh toh bhaut hi khushi ki baat hai…lekin mujhe unka chehra theek se yaad nahin…aur Prem…I can't remember his face at all…all I remember is that we used to play together a lot…wow…it has been a long time" I said.

"Koi gal nahin puttar…aaj toh woh aahi rahein hain..toh tu aaj unse mil lena…theek hai? Ab jaa jaldi se tayar hoja…bahaut saari tayaarian baaki hain theek hai…aur haan tayar hone ke baad Meher aur Tushar ko bhi uthadiyo!! Ok!" my mom instructed.

"Ok mama…I'll be downstairs in half an hour"

Finally my mom left the room and I got off my bed to quickly brush my teeth and take a shower. I always took a long time getting ready…its just a habit of mine I guess. While I was brushing my teeth, my thoughts drifted to the guests who were about to arrive tonight. I wondered how all of them would look like after fifteen years. How would Prem look like??? Does he still remember me?? Probably not, boys seem to have a tendency to forget more things than us girls…silly boys. After taking about 20 minutes to take a shower I wrapped my self up in a towel and went to my wardrobe to decide what to wear. I decided not to wear anything fancy, I mean their not like royal guests who I would dress up for. So I just decided to wear casual clothes. I took out a pair of skinny jeans, a white cammi and an Abercrombie & Fitch fleece to go over it. To tell you the truth I'm obsessed with clothes…I bet I have a pair of clothes for everyday of the year…and shoes…uski toh poocho hi mat…I have like a hundred pairs!! Anyways, I quickly straightened my hair and put light make up on. Now it was time to wake up my two little bratty siblings…this was gonna be fun!! I first went to Meher's room which was near mine.

"Meher!!!! Get up sleepy head!!! We have guests arriving in the evening and mama wants us to help her in doing the chores!! Common get up before I have to drag you out of bed!!" I said, literally screaming every word out…lol…I loved doing that to my little siblings…boy is it fun to be the eldest child in the house!!

"Common didi…its 7:30 in the morning and its only the first day of winter break…cant I at least sleep in till 9??!!!" said Meher in her sleepy, groggy voice.

"Awww honey…you wish…but if you don't get up this second mama's gonna start yelling at both of us…and you know how angry mama gets…so to be on the safe side…GET YOUR BIG BUTT OFF THE BED!!!! Ok sweetumz!!!!"

"Gosh di…you're worse then mom sometimes" said Meher while she was getting off her bed.

"Kya karoon…sangat ka asar hai" I laughed.

"Haha…very funny di!!"

"Acha theek hai sorry!! Ab jao jaake nahaalo…and come downstairs quickly!!!" I commanded.

Next stop…Tushar's room…oh joy!!!!

"Oye!! Tushar Uth!!!! Mama said we have guest coming in the evening…and we have to help her with chores!!! Common get up lazy bones!! Kitna sota hai tu!!!" I yelled.

"Kya heer di!! I was having the perfect dream of Priyanka Chopra and you just messed it up!! Jeez…how annoying can sisters get!!!" he exclaimed.

"Excuse Me??!!!" I protested.

"I'll show you how annoying sisters get…just you wait!!!" I said.

So I literally sat on him and started tickling him…he kept on laughing and screaming "didi mat karo please!!!".

"Acha?? Toh abh pata chala ki hum behenein kitni annoying hoti hain??" I said, showing him some attitude.

"Ok ok…I'm sorry I said that…tum toh meri sabse pyaari, aur bholi behen ho…happy now!!" He said sulking.

"Awwww…sho shweet" I got off of him and gave him a kiss on his forehead.

"Iewww…how many times have I told you don't give me any kisses…I'm not a baby any more…I'm a senior in high school di!!!" Tushar said in annoyed manner which made me laugh.

"Yeah I know…but for me you'll always be my sweet little baby brother…after all you're the youngest in the family." I told him in my sweetest voice.

"Yeah yeah…whatever…now go before I change my mood of not waking up." He retorted.

"Ok fine…I'm leaving." I said.

After waking up those two brats, I went downstairs to join mama in the kitchen and help her out, where I saw papa drinking his morning coffee.

"Good Morning papa!" I said to my dad.

"Good Morning Heer puttar. Tujhe toh teji ne bataadiya hoga na ki aaja shaam ko Lalit aur unki poori family aarahein hain?" asked papa.

"Haan Papa…mama already told me, I'm excited to meet them too…aakhir pandra saal hogaye…so yeah…I'm anxiously waiting for tonight!"

And I truly was…somewhere deep down I kept on feeling this weird feeling that I never had before…maybe something special might happen…who knows?

Finally evening had arrived, it was 6:55pm, they were to come at 7:00pm, just five more minutes, and they would be here. I was pacing the living room in nervousness, why was I freaking out…its not like I've never seen them before…but I guess I just get nervous seeing people after a long time.

"Umm di…are u okay? You seem to be nervous." Asked Meher.

"Huh? What…n-no…I'm perfectly fine, It's just that I get impatient when I wait for people…you know how I am." I said trying to hide the nervousness.

"Wait a minute…di are you scared to meet them? Or are you scared to meet Prem, your childhood friend?" Asked Meher suspiciously.

"W-What??!!! Of course not!!! Mein kisi se nahin darti!" I retorted back.

"Oh really…we'll see then." Said Meher.

"Yes we will." I said.

Suddenly the door bell rang and at the same time my heart skipped a beat. I quickly ran to the door and opened it. And Oh my God!!! All of them were staring right at me, I stood there for a second just examining them. There was Lalit Chachu, Gayatri Chachi, Preet, Veera, and Prem. Boy did he look handsome, even after 15 years I could recognize him, he didn't change at all except for that fact that he grew taller and more handsome. Finally I came out of my trance and welcomed them inside.

"Namaste Lalit chachu…Namaste Chachi." I said, feeling extremely shy. I could feel Prem's eyes looking at me…jeez…is he checking me out or something?!

"Namaste beta! Tu Heer hai na?" said Chachu.

"Ji chachu…mein hi Heer hoon"

"Wah…kitni soni lagrahi hai meri bachi…tujhe kisi ki nazar na lage" said Gayatri Chachi, which made me blush crimson red. She was just like a second mother to me, very sweet and nice.

My papa, and lalit chachu greeted each other with huge bear hugs…we all started laughing while they were hugging each other, and went into the family room to talk. Mama and Gayatri Chachi headed straight to the kitchen to catch up on the latest gossip. The only people left in the living room were Me, Meher, Tushar, Prem, Preet and Veera. There was an awkward silence in the room for a second. Then I decided to break the silence and went up to Prem, proving to Meher that I WASN'T scared of him.

"Hi I'm Heer…you must be Prem right?" I asked shyly.

"Hi Heer…and yes I'm Prem…its surprising how you remember me, I thought you wouldn't recognize me." He said in a surprised voice.

"Oh…well actually you didn't change much since the last time I saw you…you only grew taller…and I guess that's about it." I replied.

"True…I recognized you also…except I wasn't sure if it was you or not…you've grown taller too and prettier." He said the last two words in a whisper.

"What did you say?" I asked.

"Nothing…anyways where did the rest of them go?" He asked.

"Oh Meher and Tushar probably took them downstairs to play with the Wii or something." I explained.

"Oh I see" He answered.

"So you wanna go up to my room…I could probably show you around the house also" I offered.

"Sure why not" He said.

This evening was going to be interesting. Very intersting...

Phew!!! that was a long update!!! Sorry for the extreme delay in posting the first part!! Since its winter break...I was really occupied in work and hanging out with family and friends...which caused me to not come to the forum for about 4 days!! so extremely sorry for that!!! Please tell me if you liked this chapter or not!!! and please leave a comment or critisizm..doesnt matter!!! hope you all enjoyed!! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!!!
