What I think is that Sanjaana was Prems very good friend and she fell in love with prem in their college days but prem use to take her only as a friend..
When she did not get any response from Prem , she became obsessed and tried to commit suicide.But prem still cares for her as a friend.She must be in some hospital and she was in Coma.Now she is coming back.
