Recap: Heer walked into the lounge and a group of people shouted

"HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!"

Chapter 6

Heer was overwhelmed, she couldn't believe they had organised a surprise birthday party for her. She looked around the room unable to see anything, the lights slowly started to turn on. Heer saw a group of people standing by a table with a beautiful cake standing in the middle. Ronit and Ayesha were standing right at the front of the group of people. She ran up to her and gave her a huge hug. She had missed Ayesha so much while she had been in New York. Heer then broke the hug and looked back at the crowd, she recognised most of them as they were her friends from the hotel and some neighbourhood friends but there was one guy she didn't recognise. Prem was also looking at the crowd and saw someone he knew very well.

Heer: Ayesha! I can't believe you're here, in California!

Ayesha: How could I miss my big sisters birthday??

Heer: Well my birthday is next week!

Ayesha: But you'll be in India next week, so I thought I'd come here!

Prem: Preet?

Preet: Prem bhaiya??

Heer: bhaiya???

Prem walked over to Preet and gave him a big hug; Prem and Preet were very close to each other even though they were step siblings.

Preet: Tum yahaan?

Prem: Yeah, I cam to drop Heer of! You're here?? As in here!

He said while pointing to the ground.

Preet: I'm here with my girlfriend!

Heer & Prem: Girlfriend???

Preet walked towards Ayesha and put his hand around her waist. Heer and Prem were shocked. Heer couldn't believe Ayesha had a boyfriend and she hadn't told her and Prem was shocked because he Preet is dating Heer's sister.

Ayesha: Di, this is Preet, my boyfriend and Preet this is my sister Heer didi!

Preet: Nice to meet you, and Happy birthday!

Heer just smiled back at him, Preet seemed the sort of person who had a new girl by his side everyday, and she didn't want her sister to be hurt. Then again she didn't really know him so she couldn't judge him already.

Ayesha: I came to surprise you, and I thought I should bring Preet with me!

Heer: I'm really glad you're here, when do you leave??

Ayesha: Umm, I think next Tuesday!

Heer: I leave on Monday though!

Ayesha: well then I can show Preet around on Tuesday then!

Ronit decided to get back into the conversation,

Ronit: Heer cut the cake now!

Ayesha: yeah, come on di!

Ronit and Ayesha led Heer to the table with Preet, Prem and Jessica following close behind. Everyone sang in chorus, "happy birthday", Prem even sang, how could he not? He was pretty sure he loved her. Preet on the other hand was thinking as everyone ended singing, How does Prem Bhaiya know Heer? Prem bhaiya and a girl . . . no way! It was now time for Heer to cut the cake. She cut the first piece and left it on a plate; she would later take it to the photographs of her parents like she did every year. She then fed Ayesha a piece and gave one to Ronit too. Prem was just staring at Heer the whole while, he was looking at beautiful she was when she smiled; it was like her smile brightened up the whole room. Preet had caught Prem looking at Heer, and he wanted to tease Prem seeing Prem never looked at girls. Preet walked over to where Prem was and said. . .

Preet: So Prem, you know Heer?

Prem: Oh yeah, umm, well….. Yeah she works at the hotel.

Preet: Heer's so pretty isn't she??

Preet wanted to tease Prem seeing he hadn't confessed he liked her yet.

Prem: Umm, Heer? I wasn't looking at Heer. How would I know??

Preet: I never said you were looking at her, so obviously you were looking at her!

Prem: Mmm. NOoo I wasn't looking at her! I never said that!

Preet: Yes you did.

Prem: No

Preet: Yes

Prem: No

Preet: yes

Prem: yes!

Preet: Ha, got you!

Prem looked down embarrassed as his brother had caught him.

Preet: you can't hide anything from me, I know everything about you!

Prem: Yeah, well don't tell anyone, I haven't told Heer. I only meet her this morning.

Preet: This morning??

Prem took Preet's elbow and took him to a corner and he told him each event of the morning. Preet was shocked, Prem meet a girl and fell in-love with her in not even a full day! It usually to Preet about a week to get a girl who was playing hard to get!

Preet: Does she like you??

Prem: I think her friend likes her; he keeps staring at her funny!

Preet: Don't worry; I will make her head over heels for you. . . .

Very good update..So Preet and Ayesha together - very interesting...Heer's leaving on Monday, hope Prem confesses before that now that he is sure he loves her...
