February 6th Update
Mr. Khan and Qurban are welcoming everyone to the Baby naming party. Qurban asks Mr. Khan how it feels to be a grandpa. Mr. Khan replies, "It feels very nice, but all of a sudden I feel old." Qurban says, "Ohh, but Abbu, you'll still be able to play with your grandson na?" Mr. Khan playfully smacks him and they laugh.
Nadira brings little Kabir to Zareen and a few guests come to the baby. They praise his beauty, and one lady asks where the baby's parents are. Zareen says, "You don't worry, today's event is for the baby, not for his parents." Another lady says that the parents should at least be with their baby. Zareen says, "Just think that I'm his parents, he's my baby and he loves me a lot." The first lady goes, "That's weird." Zareen says, "Look, what seems weird to you, is very special to me. The strong relationship between me and my son is bonded, he can't live without me, and I can't live without him."
Mr. Khan and Mr. Hasan welcome the Maulwi Sahab. The Maulwi comes to the baby, "Subhan Allah, it's a beautiful baby. May Allah protect him from evil eyes and sins. May he be very successful, make his parents proud. May Allah give him a long healthy life." They all say, "Ameen." [Maula Mere music was playing; instrumental only.]
They all leave but Zareen stays behind. She thinks, Now even the Maulwi is here, where is this Azaan. He's getting careless by day, who knows where he must be.
Azaan and Mazhar are at the hospital talking to the doctor. Azaan asks how Haya is doing. The doctor replies, "She's better, but I had a question. Who is this Kabir?" Mazhar and Azaan are silent. Azaan's cell begins to ring. Mazhar tells the doctor that Kabir is their older brother. Azaan disconnects the call and says, "That means you met with Haya now. How is she feeling?" The doctor says that she's sleeping peacefully. Azaan's cell rings again. He picks up the phone and its Zareen telling him to get home. He tells her he'll be there soon. They take leave from the doctor and just then a nurse comes running to the doctor to tell him something.
Zareen goes up to Naila and says, "What is this? All the guests are here, but the baby's parents are nowhere to be seen. I'm tired of answering people." Naila says, "Don't worry, they will come soon. Maybe something very big came up and both had to leave together." Zareen says, "For parents, what can be more important than their child's name? Now watch. Both will come and make it seem as if nothing happened. I'm already tired of your daughter's carelessness. But now, now Azaan is following her too." Naila says, "Forgive me, Zareen Begum, but when children grow up they live life with their own ways."
Nadira intervenes, "What is this? Azaan is a man, he's a business man, and he has several responsibilities. If he leaves suddenly we understand, but Afreen? What important work came up for her? She left and took Khala along too? Didn't tell anyone anything, didn't hear anything, how irresponsible." Azaan and Mazhar enter. Zareen angrily walks up to them, "Where were you?" Azaan replies, "I apologize, there was an important call from a client. I had to leave." Zareen just shakes her head. The Maulwi comes and tells them to start, Zareen agrees and signals Azaan to come.
During the ceremony, Azaan sits with the baby in his lap. The Maulwi asks where the baby's mother is. Everyone is silent. Nadira says that the mother probably remembered something that was more important to her, you start, she'll come. The Maulwi says it's okay, since the baby's grandparents have equal right over the baby. Azaan moves back and Zareen and Shahnawaz sit with the baby. The Maulwi says that the baby's name will start with "qaf" or K. Everyone grins. Zareen says she knew the name would start with a K. She asks Naz to tell what she wants her nephew to be called. Naz plays with the baby and makes up funny names like Kaluu, Kulsum, etc. Naila suggests the name Kamal. Nadira suggests the name Kashif. Mr. Khan suggests, "Kamil."
Zareen says "No, I know my Naz has already thought of a name, she's just acting to annoy you all." A girl is seen entering. Naz says, "The baby's name will be---" The girl [Haya] cuts in, "Kabir!" Everyone looks at her, shocked, especially Mazhar and Azaan. Afreen and Khala are behind Haya. Zareen angrily gets up and goes to Afreen. "Where were you Afreen? We are naming your son, and you aren't anywhere to be seen." Afreen replies, "I'm sorry Ammi, I'm late." Zareen glances at Haya, "Who is this girl?" Afreen replies, "Ammi, this girl is my friend's sister. She went out so I brought her here." Nadira comments, "Wow, a mother missed her son's naming ceremony for her friend's sister, and the friend's sister came and named the son? Wow."
Afreen says, "It's something sad actually. This girl is mentally ill, she doesn't know what to say, where and when. She says whatever comes to her mouth." Zareen says, "Tell this girl that I don't like strangers interfering in my house." Mr. Khan says, "Begum, why are you ruining the mood by getting angry for no reason? And anyways, this poor girl who's unaware of anything, why be angry with her? And she gave the name we all had thought of, Kabir." They all go back and sit.
While taking a family picture Mr. Khan makes Azaan stand in the front and then makes Afreen stand next to him. Afreen whispers to Azaan, who seems angry, "What will you do now Azaan? I brought Haya home." Azaan just turns and looks at her.
Naz angrily is complaining to Zareen, "Ammi, this is enough insult. Afreen has verbally slapped me by letting that crazy girl name my son." Zareen tries to soothe her but Naz gets more pissed, "Ammi! She gave my right to that, that crazy girl? And you just stood and watched? You didn't say a thing. Ammi, you know how everyone was taking care of Afreen when she was pregnant, as if she was the first lady to become pregnant. So much respect to the wife of the house, and the pregnant daughter of the house doesn't get anything? Pain, insult? No one cares about her." She angrily leaves. Yasir was listening.
Azaan, Mazhar, Haya and Khala are in a room. Azaan angrily says, "Uff! I was trusting a careless boy and a crazy old lady with this secret. Mazhar, you had so much trust on Khala na? Look what she has done. You use to say that Khala will take care of everything, but she didn't take care of anything. She took Afreen to the hospital. Khala, why did you do this? What did Afreen do that made you break apart?" Khala says, "Azaan, Afreen already knew which hospital Haya was being admitted to." Azaan asks how Afreen knew. Khala told him that Afreen found out through Kabir's book, using Haya's birth certificate. Azaan says he hopes that Afreen doesn't find out that he was responsible for shifting Haya.
Khala says, "She won't find out Azaan, I've made her believe that Haya is my--" She looks up and is shocked. Mazhar motions Azaan to look where Khala is looking. Afreen is standing at the door.
Naz is sitting in her room pigging out. Azaan comes with a tray of food. Naz makes a face and looks away. Yasir asks her to forget everything. Naz says, "Of course you will say that. Afreen is your sister! But sometimes think about my feelings too! Who gave that girl the right to name my nephew? Your sister always steals my rights! But today she crossed the limits. What right did she have in interfering?" Yasir says, "Naz, will you fight with crazy people too now? Don't you remember, Afreen told us that the girl is mentally ill? She didn't steal your right, she only named the baby." Naz begins to cry, "You're always trying to give me advice, but do you realize how pained I am?" Yasir lovingly tells her that people who are clear hearted like her get hurt on small things. [Dil Ki Saaf?! LMAO!]
Yasir tells her that the girl didn't take her right, and that she's the baby's one and only phoppi, and she'll always stay that. He makes her wipe her tears then sees the pappita she was eating. She tells him that she likes it. Yasir tells her that pappita isn't good for pregnant women and tells her to not eat it again. He feeds her the food he brought. [Man if Naz turns good again I love this couple too, Yasir is very sweet and a bit too innocent for his one good.]
Afreen walks up to Azaan and says to Khala, "You tried to get me to believe you, but also tell him that I didn't believe you." Khala replies, "What's there to not believe?" Afreen says, "The fact that Haya is your daughter." Khala says, "NO! Haya is my daughter!" Afreen says, "Okay, then come with me and tell everyone that Haya is your daughter." The three others in the room are shocked. Afreen says, "If you can't, then I will tell everyone." She drags Haya with her and Khala stops her. "No Afreen! Please don't do that. My crazy daughter was a problem for me, and now you all are bothered by it. Because of us there are differences between you and Azaan today. Sometimes I wish she wouldn't have come to this world. If only I hadn't asked Mazhar and Azaan to help me. But okay, it will be good if I left you all forever."
Azaan speaks up, "Enough Khala! There is no point in lying anymore. Now it's time to tell Afreen the truth. You want to know what the truth is?" Afreen says, "Yes." Azaan replies, "Haya is my sister." Afreen is shocked. Azaan continues, "She's a daughter of this house. The oldest daughter. Our older sister." Afreen asks, "What? But why hide this? Are you making up stories again?" Azaan replies, "Yes. Story. The story of Haya's life. The true story. Or else, why would Kabir Bhai write a book on her? Four years ago, in this pushteni haweli, I found out about Haya." Mazhar interrupts, "No bhaijaan!" Azaan says, "No Mazhar! Let me speak today, or else Afreen will suspect me forever." Afreen asks, "How did you find out about Haya?"
Azaan continues, "Through Kabir Bhai. Every Tuesday, Kabir Bhai would take girl's clothes somewhere. I asked him several times, but he always made some excuse. But once I followed him and came across some house where I saw Kabir Bhai with a crazy girl." Khala interrupts, "Enough Azaan! Don't say anything more. Afreen, don't try to learn more than this. This much is enough for you dear." Azaan says, "No Khala! Half the truth is worst than a lie. I'm going to tell Afreen the whole truth today. Even if, after today, she has no respect for our house. Afreen, listen to me. Kabir Bhai was not our brother." Afreen is shocked.
