MIXED FRUIT SMOOTHIE
Ingredients
Banana, chopped 1
Pear, chopped 1 medium
Almonds, blanched 10-15
Milk, chilled 2 cups
Melon, chopped medium
Yogurt 4 tablespoons
Strawberry jam 4 tablespoons
Crushed ice 1 cup
Method
- Take banana, pear, almonds and milk in a smoothie maker and blend till smooth.
- Add melon, yogurt and strawberry jam and blend again till smooth.
- Add crushed ice and blend once more.
- Pour into glasses and serve immediately
OATS PANCAKE WITH MAPLE SYRUP
Ingredients
Oatmeal cup
Refined flour (maida) cup
Whole wheat flour (atta) cup
Soda bicarbonate teaspoon
Baking powder teaspoon
Powdered sugar 2 tablespoons
Eggs 3
Buttermilk 1 cups
Milk cup
Oil 2 tablespoons + to shallow fry
Vanilla essence a few drops
Maple syrup as required
Method
- Sieve together refined flour, whole wheat flour, soda bicarbonate and baking powder into a bowl.
- Add powdered sugar and mix. Add eggs and mix. Add buttermilk and mix well to make a smooth batter.
- Add oatmeal and milk and mix. Add a little oil and vanilla essence and mix well.
- Heat a pan, grease it with a little oil. Pour a ladleful of batter and spread around the pan. Drizzle a little oil all round and let it cook on medium heat for two minutes. Flip and cook on the other side.
- Serve hot with maple syrup.
- You can also serve it with fresh fruits or with honey.
STEAMED EGG KATORI
Ingredients
Eggs 8
Salt to taste
Crushed red chillies 1 teaspoon
Onion, chopped 1 small
Green capsicum, thinly sliced medium
Processed cheese, grated 4 tablespoons
Method
1. Take four microwave proof bowls (katoris). Break two eggs into each bowl. Sprinkle salt, crushed red chillies, onion, green capsicum and grated cheese.
2. Sprinkle some more crushed red chillies and keep the bowls in the microwave and cook, uncovered, on Microwave MEDIUM for two minutes.
3. Serve hot.
4. You can even steam them but for that arrange the eggs in stainless steel katoris and steam in a steamer or a pressure cooker.
