Actually it doesn't sound so funny in English coz, many hindi jokes don't usually sound funny in English.

But its hilarious in Hindi.

Ify:- Since you asked Atia whats so funny about it and she didn't answer, I'll try and answer The caller tune itself isn't funny, but the context it is in is pretty hilarious. Imagine you're trying to call your dad, and you get some weirdo guy speaking in pavitra hindi, thats shudh hindi, thats pure hindi. It would be so unexpected, that it would be funny. You expect that from a hindi textbook, not when your calling your friend, or esp from a person like Jay.

Like for example, laughing at a comedy movie - not funny
Laughing at a horror movie - unexpected so kind of funny

However if your going on the english wordings, then its not that funny. But I think you know hindi.

thanks for the explanation,,,my hindi isnt very good,,but even if it was i still wont find it funny....😆 thats just me,,my sense humour has dissapeared lately..

surag means clues....
so should it not be important clues...
also what does prachin mean?
kaal means age right?
vichitra means weird right?

pracheen means "ancient" 😊

Okkkay, if you want an English transalation. Check JC's explanation above your post. That one is more apt to the joke than the previous one.

And don't beat yourself up for not finding it funny. Hey it happens!😆
