Yes, that's right....now they are going to 'ghusao' their nose into Tv! The article appeared in the Bombay Times, Tuesday, 22 april. 'The I&B Ministry is set to certify content on TV'

I don't know how to scan the page and display it on the forum. So, if any of u kind souls can do the needful, please do so. There's also another article on Indian television on the same page.....interesting.

Coming back to the thread, the following are some of the observations made by producers (not BT...now why doesn't that surprise me?) They felt that daily soaps had 'least scope for objectionable stuff," and "I don't think you can call any daily soap obscene either."

Welllll! Shall we invite these guys to watch Kayamth and sundry Ekta serials? Her take on legalities of marriage and bigamy itself would earn her an A certification!!

So, the positive fallout of censorship would be that these annoying factors would be taken care of but the 😭part could be that those intimate scenes that we love to watch bt Michi might just get the cut!!

Movies i can understand...its is only 3 hrs long but this is totally ridiculous... How can they monitor all channels, all shows ..day in and day out!!!

Pppa, I think this itself is not such a bad thing. Anyway they dont show anything in the T.V. shows they dont already show in the 'U' rated movies. But the need to get a certification for every episode will ensure that these guys complete them well in time. So they will not be hurriedly shot which would mean there will hopefully be less bloopers. But I am doubtful about the implemenation of this tipulation if at all it goes through. I doubt that the have that kind of manpower to do so.

Just watched an interview with the I&B minister and some others responsible for the TRP systems....I believe that there a hundred and 12 million viewers in India and only 33% of these have TAM meters in their homes...that's 35 million people. And in metros only 7000 homes have TAM meters.

The upshot of the interview was that the minister disaproves of the TAM and TRP system and is set to change it soon!! And he claims he's getting threatening phone calls about that!
