Playing devil's advocate for Snakeman

I guess we in this forum have bashed up Mr.Anil Nagpal ever since reading the article on 'an impending divorce, a temporary reunion and re-entry of Neev' as was suggested by the writer of the show.

But tell me frankly did any of us even bother to know who the writer of the show was before this uproar? The PIM track was one of the most retarded of all tracks I have witnessed in soaps. Yet we quietly put up with this torture (not very quietly, we did make some noise here) but not loud enough to drum some sense into Mr.Nagpal. Barring at wondering at how come they took us for such fools, we did not really oppose very much, did we? Neither did we try to find out who was the idiotic writer of the show.

Before that Mr.Nagpal gave us one of the most amazing c-nights on Indian T.V. The scenes were well crafted and shot aesthetically. Credit goes to the director, the dialogue writer, the camera man, the actors etc. But did we ever acknowledge the screen play writer, Mr.Nagpal? Afterall the guy envisioned the couple first declaring their feelings for each other in the midst of sorting out a serious misunderstanding before they took the all important step of concretising their relationship. He followed the c-night with a beautiful morning-after where the couple reaffirmed their love in a cute and romantic way. And plenty of Michi moments for atleast three weeks after that. Again the screenplay writer went by fairly unnoticed, though all of us loved the scenes.

Rewinding a little further back, the whole concept of Michi and the manner in which their relationship was developed was unique and spell binding. But did any of us bother to check the credits to see who is the brain behind this jodi? No we did not. We were too busy falling in love with this celestine couple to notice such mundane things.

But the words Michi and divorce uttered together woke us all up. The minute we realised it is one Mr.Nagpal who is the story and screen play writer who is weilding his pen like a sword to seperate our favourite jodi, we sprung into action, baying for blood. Am I glad we did. We christened him a thousand times over with the choicest of names - Serpent, snakeman, cobra, Saamp to name a few. We wanted to throttle him, stone him, break coconuts on his head, swash his head with rocks, shoot him down, hang him, torture him slowly and so on.

The point I am making is this poor guy was largely ignored as long as he was showing something we wanted. He was an anonymous person amongst the KYM team. It is not as if the people behind the scenes were all unknown. People knew Anil V.Kumar and Dheeraj Sarna, the director and script writer, respectively. They praised their good work. But poor Mr.Nagpal was royally ignored.

So I guess the guy got back at us for not acknowledging him. Anything to get famous, even if at the end you become notorious and not popular. Now every one knows who the story writer and screen play writer of KYM is. They even ended up noticing he also writes for Kyunki. Now that is an achievement in itself that all these months of writing did not get him.

At the end of the day, while we tear apart our hair every day wondering what Snakeman has for us that night, Mr.Nagpal must be gleefully rubbing his hands for getting his dues and reaching the heights of fame even if it is for all the wrong reasons. Afterall the guy weilds all the power to make or break our jodi and we helpless pray for small mercies although externally we put up a brave front.

How true, Optimist.

I wonder if they showed us the accident scene so that now both Milind and Prachi will be against Ayesha, and Prachi will not be so forgiving of her?

She now has a reason to agree to Ayesha being shown the door of the SM, and Sanjeeda can have her long break, while Niharika and Alap take over the baddies role for a while...

Credit for the way the Michi relationship was developed in the early says of their marriage also goes to Bobby Bhonsle, he was co-writing Kayamath at that time along with Nagin Nagpal. 😊

As for Nagpal, I didn't care to read the credits until that infamous indya.com article came out, I was quite surprised looking back at the credits that it was indeed Nagpal alone that wrote the most beautifully penned consumnation night to date on Indian telly for Michi.

Still..dislike this man for the two months of torture with that horrid 'I am Ritwik's mom' Prachi track, and the bugger dared to pen down a short-lived Michi reunion (lasting less than a month), and that too with little tiny crumbs.

I do hope you are right Gawker. I hope they dont end up feeling bad for her that they had in some way pushed her over the edge. I certainly do not want to see any amnesia track being played out. I want that bhootini out of the show asap. She may return later as a positive character. Cant stand Sanju in this role any longer although she is doing a damn good job of it considering how much I hate her now.

Yes Yasmin, they should have retained Bobby to moderate the extreme swings of Snakeman. Atleast we would have also been spared of having our emotions swinging to his whims, would'nt we?

Awwww poor thing. So Snakeman is the unloved, ignored, misunderstood child compared to our favourites Anil V.Kumar and Dheeraj Sarna. So in order to get our attention he throws tantrums and rebels by breaking up Michi. 😆 Maybe, you are right, all he needs is some positive affirmation and he'll behave and keep Michi together forever. 😆

After yesterday's episode, I feel this guy must be the most sadistic person on earth or has gone bonkers like his character, Ayesha. He better not think of showing a missing track or an amnesia track (especially one that involves Ayesha taking care of Milsi without informing the rest of the family), that too after dragging in the gods of two faiths. If this was his plan, he should have atleast kept the gods out of it. Now I dont want to be this devil's advocate. Hope he redeems himself today.

Well, yesterday this guy showed me how wrong I was in placing my trust in him. A dead body on V-day.Can it get any more grosser than that? Now I am convinced that he is beyond redemption like his character Ayesha.
