Sanjitha, the bubbly Bollywood beauty is making her debut in "Shubham" a Kannada film. This confident young girl is all excited about her entry into South Indian film industry. Sanjitha has done 'Baghban' a Hindi film and she spoke to Sify.com on the sets of 'Shubam' at Kanteerava studios.
How did enter films?
I am running a dance school in Mumbai. I have many reputed clients in which kids of Chopras, Hundujas are my students. I was noticed by Mr Ravi Chopra for the film 'Bagbhan' where I played the daughter-in-law of Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini.
Tell us about your dance school
There are 78 students and they are taught the nuances of filmi dance. I have taken training in Bharatanatyam and western dance is of course my cup of tea. I mix both and teach the students so that they carve a future in cinema.
What is your background?
I hail from Gujarath. But my parents are settled down in Mumbai. My father is a businessman and mother is a housewife. I have a brother.
Did you ever dream of becoming an actress?
I had no aspirations to become an actress. Everything that happened in my life was not planned and I am a person who is practical. I believe that hard work always pays and that's exactly what I am doing right now.
Have you given dance programs?
Yes. My first dance program was for a get together of reputed Hindujas family.
How was your experience in 'Bagbhan'?
Fantastic and Amitabh Bachchan is a down to earth, simple person. My fear to act with him was put to ease in no time and I believe that it was a life time opportunity.
Coming to Kannada film 'Shubam' what is your role?
This is not a routine film. This is different as from a bubbly girl I transform to a responsible person. There is a lot of scope for performance. The film is directed by Ravi R.Garani and he has decided to give two narrations – one for classes and the other for masses, which is something innovative.
After 'Bhagbhan' why you suddenly came down to south?
From the beginning I love South Indian films. In fact my future I want to make it here besides running the dance school in Mumbai. I have already accepted another Tamil film for producer A.M.Rathnam. It is for 'Surya Banner'. Ravi Krishna, his son and the hero of '7-G Rainbow colony' is my hero.
What is success according to you?
Success just happens. I always give my best for any kind of film. But it is for the people to decide and give their opinion.
