I feel 'Ashamed' wont be the right word to use. Of what should he be ashamed of? He didnt force Prachi to marry him, he gave her a proposal with conditions attached and she accepted it for her own purpose. And more over he didnt break Neev-Prachi up, Neev was already married. So there is no sense of feeling of shame on that front. Yes, He surely feels bad for the fate their relationship met with. He assumes Prachi's happiness is with Neev... so he is doing all he can to give Prachi back her happiness....setting her free.

Yday he couldn't meet her eyes not because he was ashamed…but the guy has never asked anyone for a favour in his life. He always will refuse any help that comes his way as a favour… but if he sees that support is coming in not as favour but because they really care for him, he will give himself up completely. That is exactly what happened with Prachi. He resisted her going abt doing things for him…because he saw it as a favour…but when he saw the care and concern, he was more than willing to give himself up and get pampered by Prachi.

Yday's hesitancy came from the fact that the Self Dependant guy that he is needs someone else's help for his father… and he is asking for a favour for the 1st time… it was tough for him on that level and the hesitancy was because of that and also because he was asking for something he gave away by his own will. But primarily it was hesitancy in asking Prachi for a few more days away from her happiness. It was not shame that caused Milind not to meet Prachi's eyes but hesitance. Milind can be guilty, never ashamed even if he is… he will promptly apologize. As far as feeling guilty for all that he did to Prachi... he was truly sorry and made her realise that on the day of the deluge infront of the temple... when he very humbly accepted his defeat and appreciated the beautiful person that she is. So he isnt carrying any baggage of those days now... he relieved himself of that burden long back, but he is ready to face the consequences of that, if she wishes even today.

Yes, there was always feeling in Milind that he isnt worthy of an angel like Prachi... she deserves a Prince Charming and he isnt that polished... that is the nagging feeling he has, though for Prachi that wouldnt matter.... she knows to turn her Beast into her Prince Charming.

Milind can never be ashamed of the background he comes from. He is touchy abt it… it pains him when that background becomes a hindrance in something which is very close to his heart (Eg, his relationship with Prachi) It causes him anger when ppl look down upon his upbringing in an undignified manner…. Else he is a very confident guy and his roots are responsible for the what he stands for, he will never be ashamed of his upbringing. He knows that the man behind the Dahi Handi Champion and The Business Tycoon is the same Milind, the world perceives him differently… but he is the same. Once wittingly he said 'Poster badla hai, Picture abhi bhi wohi hai' Even if he loses all his business and property…he will still be comfortable being back in his chawl. Milind's attitude towards the Shahs has been bitter because he felt they weren't treating his father in a dignified manner, they treated him like a slave…he didn't like his father place the shahs in higher pedestal… that bit of misunderstanding is fading away thanks to Prachi and Premlata.

Very well written...

However I do think he's having a complex, thus confidence-issue considering his background. It's not that he's ashamed or embarrassed of his father and what he was, but he couldn't help feeling insecure and perhaps feeling 'low'. Because it was so clearly showed in this soap that if your father is a servant than you have such a low status in society. And people (meaning Alaap) just don't stop reminding him of this. It crushes a man and his self esteem to be regarded so low (btw I just can't understand why Alaap could be so mean). If he's not somewhat ashamed /embarrassed of his background, I think we wouldn't have seen his outbursts of anger (and even tears! hics3) when the topic was even slightly mentioned.

Well Ryka, as usual hitting the nail in the head. Going through your post I must agree with you. But your observation that 'Milind's attitude towards the Shahs has been bitter because he felt they weren't treating his father in a dignified manner, they treated him like a slave…' should be stemming from his own inferiority complex because as Mr.Mishra tells Prachi, she is like her father who always respected people, big or small.

Thank U everyone for that appreciation.

Magno, welcome to the world of Kayamath... Hopefully u will enjoy being here as much as we all have.

Shali, yaar anything for my adorable bacha... he can be a total brat, but love him nevertheless.

Sweety, Thank u... and yes Shabbo Rocks as Milind... cant imagine anyone else in his role... it is such a 180 degree change from his Rishi Garewal.

Magno & Optimist, regarding his inferiority complex... The problem is that he NEVER saw Shah's interact with his Dad....so he has no clue how Mr. Mishra treated Prachi or how Inder treated his dad. All he knew was he used to fume when his dad used to come home and sing praises abt his Boss being their God. He used to Hate it! He used to go...'Inder Shah is your boss not mine' He never liked why his dad used expect him to be indebted to the shahs...once in his own arrogant way he asked his dad why he needed to be indebted to Inder Shah, as if he(Inder) had given his daughter in marriage to him😆 God knows what moment he uttered those words... All the angels around must have said Amen. Now he truly is indebted to Inder for this Pari in his life😳. Milind has always assumed the worst of the Shahs because he has never seen or interacted with them....which is why he gets very edgy abt it. And when he interacted with them, it was during teh Sukruti fiasco which fueled his misunderstanding even more because they stood by their son who was wrong in this particular case. Now he is seeing 1st hand how respectful the Shahs are to his father esp Prachi, Premlata & Dadi... and that bitterness for the shahs is slowly going down...except for Alaap😡

So i would say that Milind gets a bit worked up when his background is under question, but not because he feels low or something like that... he is either hurt or angry not ashamed or low abt it. He def acknowledges an apparent difference in their lifestyles... but that is not because he thinks high of those ppl and low of himself. For him it is like, there is a difference and he isnt comfortable personally in their lifestyle... For business association he moves around like a Sauve Businessman...but when he wants his privacy... he avoids such gatherings or people... he just wants to be alone or with friends and these days... With Prachi😳

😆 I'm almost left speechless. Since I love Millind it does feel nice to know sombody defends him so devotedly:)

Not to be Optimist's follower or anything, still I think he's ashamed of what he did, and has inferiority complex considering his background (which is normal). He said to Prachi that he finally understood, money can't buy the dignity and the heart of gold that Prachi has, and he's so ashamed of his behaviour and he's really sorry. I just think nothing of these really put Millind lower in my eyes (or in Prachi's eyes), because he'd sincerely apologized. And yes, the inferiority complex in question is only in his mind, because about Millind's background: those who matter don't care and those who care don't matter to him.
