I understand your sentiments, but I do not share them and would like to respectfully disagree. If Prachi gets raped, newfound backbone or not, I will stop watching the show because I could not, in good conscience, accept a storyline which is extremely repugnant to my sense of fairness, morality, and values.

Sincerely,

Ek Umeed 😊

P.S. I would also like to point out that rape does not necessarily mean a person will develop a backbone. Women have been found to suffer nervous breakdowns in the aftermath, and in some situations, even suffer from PSTD (post-traumatic stress disorder in which they continue to relive memories of their rape).

honey wen ur watchin em ekta shows, i've learn...i du think bout logic and wut is correct. u think according to ekta rules...thats wut i've learned. i'd never wish it upon any1 in real life but...its a ekta show...u play by her rules here. every1 kta show has atleast one rape case and they end up marrying or is married to that very rapist and end up loving them😆

and like i said its not that i want her to get raped per say, b/c yeah, that does make me sound horrible, im sorry, i didnt mean it like that. but i feel miland shud get close to it and maybe it will awakken the inner prachi and she'll be able to push him off you know.

i feel really bad now lolz, i think i was in the moment and vented it all out lolz

Dearest RandomSquared:

I didn't mean to make you truly feel bad. I am just upset at the storyline, especially because one of my best friends and a distant friend from my class had confided in me sometime ago their rape stories. And I can't imagine anyone going through that; it was hard enough hearing them voice what they went through. And I am not angry with you at all; I am angry with the storyline because I feel the direction of the storyline, though my friends will never watch the show because they are Americans, is an insult to what they went through. I hope you understand why I said what I did.

Sincerely,

Ek Umeed 😊

I agree with Ek Umeed. Even if you leave the moral issues out of this and look at the event from purely the perspective of BT shows, Prachi's character is not one to react. The Kayamath concept was that Prachi the main character who lived a very protective life due to her father's worries for her, after her father's death ends up leaving the luxuries that she knew and to the extent of sacrificing the most dearest thing to her in the world (her relationship with Neev). And even today she continues to sacrifice herself for the woes of others. Yes as a viewer i hate to see a woman not stand up for herself but Prachi's basic character is that of being sacrifice queen. So you can't expect anything different from her. Just like Neev's basic character is to find humor in everything (even tho lately his humor has been sarcastic, he is still the same character with minor changes) and Milind's basic character of being aggressive is still intact even tho he has left the chawl and entered the world of the "sophisticated".

My whole point is that if you go by this rule a rape will not change Prachi's basic character. She will remain the mute sufferer of all atrocities because thats what the show is about.

Now on another point...I do not agree that Prachi is a meek character. She has strength that very few in the world possess. She has the strength of patience. Sehen shakti is in my opinion a greatest weapon against troubled times (speaking from experience) and Prachi has it in plenty. She remains quite not because shes is scared of someone (like a meek person would be) but because she has the courage to take all the blame and endure the consequences for the sake of those whom she loves.

The reason she gave up Neev to Ayesha was two things. She knew that Ayesha was going to destroy anything that is dear to Prachi and Prachi couldn't see Neev destroyed. Second, it was a penance for what Ayesha endured due to her father and brother. Even tho i hate Ayesha as she is today (trying to take her sister's husband away from her) at the point when she began her revenge spree she was justified. She had yearned for a father so badly when Prachi lived with all the care of a functional family. Ayesha deserved part of the love that Prachi enjoyed and now Prachi is returning that care and affection back to Ayesha with interest for the years she lived in lonliness. Prachi knows only to love and not to hate and thats y I love and admire her.

wow this is long. My apologies to those who actually read the whole thing. 😆
