Well, if you are wondering what I am talking about, fear not.
I have not committed any crime warranting such a punishment, except maybe making one particular man's life miserable - that of my hubby's.
Yes, I am completing 14 years of married life today, April 20th.
In India, life sentence is 14 years long so I am crossing a landmark of sorts you can say. I'll gladly go through another life sentence with my man who is truly a gem of a guy to have put up with a temperamental, moody character like me for all these years. So I guess I should be congratulating him more than congratulating myself! But like any typical wife I keep teasing him that I am the one who has tolerated him for all these years!!!
I must give credit to Michi for making a difference to my married life in more ways than one.
Firstly, my Michi addiction ensured that I was glued to the forum most of my free time which meant there was less time to quarrel with my hubby! Must admit that although my hubby is not particularly fond of Shabbo and ridicules me for my huge crush on him, he is a relieved man as I don't nag him like I used to before. He keeps wondering how I have really mellowed down over the years.
Secondly, Michi and my love for them have made me a mushy romantic; the beneficiary of my newly discovered softer side has been hubby dearest. He is more than pleased to be the receipient of all the attention and adulation I shower on him whenever I manage to tear myself away from IF. Nothing panders to the male ego more than to have one's spouse mooning over him, I guess.
Thirdly, hubby reciprocates my attention by presenting me with chocolates (my greatest weakness) every weekend. He also is more vocal in his appreciation of me than before.
Fourthly, I have come to value my hubby even more for all his good qualities, not that I did not value him before but I realise what a lucky woman I am.
So I guess, like old wine, our marriage has matured over the years. Ours is not a fairytale marriage. We have had our ups and downs and had to go through a lot to get to where we are now. But I am glad we both worked at it and still work at it.
Well, thought I'll share my special day with all my web friends here.
Btw we share our wedding anniversary with Abhi and Ash, although they are still freshers compared to us oldies, as their marriage is just two years old!
P.S. I am posting this (which may be my last topic in this great forum) a few minutes before midnight as I have a long day tomorrow and need to hit the bed early.
