The hatke actor spices up his work profile by doing his first commercial film

Smita Patil and Raj Babbar's son Prateik is preparing for his first commercial flick, The youngster is now getting into shape for his first masala foray.

Like Tere Naam

After doing two quirky off-mainstream films Abbas Tyre- wala's Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na and Kiran Rao's Dhobi Ghaat, Prateik will be seen in a film produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Satish Kaushik.

The untitled film falls in the league of Kaushik's Salman Khan-starrer Tere Naam.

In the same mould

Says Satish, "It's an intense and passionate love story. The minut I saw Prateik, I knew he was right for it.

He has that unpredictable, unconventional yet rivetting and charming personality that Salman projected in Tere Naam.

We need a girl who looks as simple and as Indian as Bhumika Chawla in Tere Naam." The film has a newcomer Panchi opposite Prateik.

Losing it

Adds Satish, "We need Prateik to look very lean and hungry. He needs to lose weight and we'll have to stop his gymming completely from May before we start shooting in June."

Prateik has been spending time with Satish over the songs and other details of the film. "He's eager to understand the language of commercial cinema," he adds.
